  1. Hitting the post is not, for obvious reasons, a shot on target.
  2. Many of us have had doubts on the darkest days. It's human nature. He's a young manager. He was thrown into the deep end when McNamara left and he gave us the SFL Championship, in style. Since then, under his leadership, we have continued to grow and to achieve. He has shown great strength and ability to turn it around from the very poor form early this season. There was even talk, back then, that he had lost the dressing room. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are seeing now that he gets the best from the players. Of course there will be dark days but I, for one, will not doubt his ability to bring us through it. Happy Birthday Boss.
  3. Now you can see how easy this is. 1. Post 'In'. 2. Send three quid when prompted. 3. Post 'Win' every week. Let's be 'aving you* *thanks Delia

  8. If we won the league we would hardly get a word of praise. Glasgow's great unmentionables.
  9. From kick off. Two early goals and a Doolan birthday goalfest. Or 1 - 0. I really don't mind. Thistle>Arabs, Archie>Mixu.
  10. Great, thanks Ladybug, the first of many this weekend, I wager. Three points tomorrow and a fistful of three quid pledges is all I ask, oh and a wee piece of coal for the fire.
  11. Predictions for Round 4. All aboard the Second LJS Express. Reserve your window seat at Last Jag Standing thread.

  13. That was a good day. Remember the Falkirk player lying in the penalty area and Willie Young indicating to the Jags fans that he was sleeping. Jan '02. 1 - 4. Think the 5 - 1 was at home the same season.
  14. 24 hours guys. Deadline for predictions 9pm tomorrow.
  15. Lots of empty cells on the spreadsheet. Deadline for predictions 9pm tomorrow.
  16. Good to see clubs getting together to market individual games like this. The mixed seating is a progressive idea. St Mirren on a Friday night is a good local fixture so hopefully a big crowd.
  17. 5 hungry folk so far The Sunnylaw Jag jagaloon Dick Dastardly east lothian jag jagfox Need another 20 to guarantee a second helping of this delicious feast. Sign up now, pay three quid later. Bon appetit
  18. Welcome to the Mustapha Dumbuya (home) score prediction league. A special welcome to the 11 new players for this one. The Rules The Players The Fixtures A Note This competition takes place over a busy holiday period. There is not much time between games. After the first round of matches I will invite predictions for all games from 26 December until 3 January. Each round will still have its own deadline and subsequently only that round's predictions will be published. I will continue to send out individual rounds if required but there may be a very short time to get predictions in. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I have already received predictions from one player for the whole competition as they will be out of contact for this period. A plea Obviously, taking part is optional. If you wish not to particitate, please send me a message letting me know. No point in wasting your time and mine. First fixtures will follow by PM. Please feel free to contact me with any comments or queries.
  19. Just picked my way through the fixtures to update my fixture list for sponsorship comps. Aberdeen have 5 consecutive televised games culminating with their trip to Firhill. Some games have been postponed on 30 January to accommodate League Cup semi finals. Inverness v Hearts has been switched to that Saturday from Weds. 2 March. A rare case of an evening match being switched to a weekend. Should boost the ICT coffers. Still no rearranged dates for the postponed games from 5 Dec.
  20. Just need Sevco to hit a slump and it will be.
  21. Interesting. Wasn't aware of that, DD. Was it used in the same way, i.e. to give one team in a drawn game an extra point? Or was it a way of forcing a positive result from the game? Is either country still using the system?
  22. So it used to be 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. The change was made, universally, to 3/1 to encourage attacking football, to make a draw a less rewarding outcome. In a ground breaking move, Scotland is making 2 points for a draw a possibility, encouraging what exactly?
  23. If anybody wants to put a few (three to be precise) quid on the outcome of Thistle games, then they could sign up for Second Last Jag Standing. Club get your money rather than the bookie and you could get a lovely Jags top out of it.
  24. Team A wins one game and draws three = 6 points Team B loses one game and draws three = 6 points Ground breaking.
