  2. Some interesting games this weekend with the U12's playing a team from Maryland USA this Sunday at Stirling University. Thistle also have an U16 development squad travelling to play Newcastle's U16's on Sunday at the Newcastle Training Complex which will be a great experience for everyone involved. U18's on Saturday are going to Man City's Training Complex to play a side from Ghana which again will be something for the boys involved to look forward too. Result from Wednesday's U16's friendly with Forth Valley was a 4-2 win for the young Jags U17's playing Queen of the South at Toryglen on Friday with a 1.15pm ko Good luck to all the young Jags in their games over the weekend
  3. 2-0 away win for the Development squad at Inverness 4 U17's playing with one of them getting the Man of the Match
  4. Decent result for Thistle but you need to take the chances and naybe should have been 3pts Having said that Thistle have come on really well of late and thankfully that injury time goal against Thistle you come to expect didn't materialise. When you say they should have one at Pittodrie it shows the progress this side have made.
  5. I don't see anything wrong with the club the racist/sectarian fan follows being named. Everyone will know Thistle don't have a problem with sectarian or racial abusive fans but every club will have their idiots and this will always be the case.
  6. Why don't you add that the guy might have been a Rangers fan?
  7. Fraser scores a 40 yrd cracker.apparently Well done young Mclaughlin on his first goal for the development squad which proved to be the winner.
  8. Thistle's U15's were fantastic today away at Annan and beat the home side convincingly 10-1 A well fought first half with two sides playing contrasting styles of football seen the young Jags go in 2 goals up and they were made to work very hard for this lead from a very big physical home side who played a more direct style of football. Always a great day out at Galabank and the pitch always seems to suit this young Thistle side and the quick passing football style they play and today was no different. They were never at any point intimidated by their hosts and after passing them off the park first half the young Jags scored at will second half as the home team tired. Great displays all over the ptch and everyone in a Thistle shirt played to a high standard.with some great football and top quality goals for us spectators to enjoy. The Annan keeper was a giant who believe it or not kept the score down with some fantastic saves and looked more an U18 keeper to all of us. In the end it didn't matter but the laugh was when he had been beaten by a fantastic shot from 30yards by Thistles attacking midfielder for his hat trick he collided off one of the posts. The Thistle physio who treated him joked he shouldn't take part in any PE at school tomorrow only to be told "PE? School? I'm a bricky" Great day out, great performances from the Thistle boys and Annan are always great hosts. Well done all the young Jags today
  9. Some interesting games for the young Jags to look forward to at Easter.
  10. Good luck to all the young Jags in their games this weekend.
  11. It's the wording the coach uses that annoys me describing him as a"luxury player" and would rather go with taller stronger players and runners. The fact the boy is at Madrid tells me he must be decent and the fact he is 6ft tall but not tall enough for what the coach is looking for tells me he isn't the most physical of players and isn't the "runner" he is looking to have throughout his team A team of large athletic type robots seems to be the way this coach wants to play, but why not build a team of these type of players around a talented technical player and a player we really struggle to produce in this country these days. Surely it's good to have something different and something that might produce some good football to watch. It's still a very long way to go for this boy in making it at the highest level but we should be encouraging this type of player into our national set up rather than making silly statements as to why he isn't involved.
  12. If he has the chance to play for Spain then he should do it. Dinosaurs still run our game here and he will develop into a much better football player staying where he is.
  13. Well done Thistle and well done Stevie Lawless
  14. Early start on Sunday for the U15's with a 10.15am ko at Pollok Park Lochinch against Morton. This is always a well contested game and I'm looking forward to this one. Good luck to all the young Jags in their games against Morton this weekend.
  15. I'm suprised he isn't doing well there. Great stuff from Kevin though and hopefully he continues to do well.
  16. I think you make some good points and the 16 team league was what i think should be looked at but didn't want to be accused of trying to fit Rangers into the league ( mind you they might still struggle to get in to a 16 ) We play they same teams too many times and this leads to boredom amongst fans and players cancelling each other out due to them getting too familiar with each others game. Some revamped cup competition as you say could be added to make up any shortfall, but i really think we need to get an interest back into our game to attract good sponsor money being fairly spread out amongst the clubs and attracting fans back to the grounds in decent numbers. I take the points regarding pitches needing seeded in the summer months you and LIB mention but from a youth development point of view i would like to see more summer football which i think will develop better players. Pitches used are mostly artificial and i think this is the perfect time for these kids to play alot of their football and also for the coaches who are developing them as footballers
  17. Finding a format that will have our teams playing when our weather is at it's best and our pitches are at their best should see more fans turn out to watch the better football on show. I think we need to play our football in the summer months and we might even attract a sponsor if we are not in direct competition with other Leagues at that time.
  18. Thistle win it is then.
  19. But think of those exciting games against Rangers next season. Some on here won't be able to contain themselves with excitement. Personally i think Thistle will still stay up and personally i think you gave up on this team a long time ago.
  20. Just shows you how much you all have in common with those beloved Bears
  21. I will keep this on topic as per the thread title What a fantastic day for the Rangers support
  22. Is that thread title Celtic support ? And you call me someone you don't know "inbred knuckle dragging scum" What a nice Partick Thistle fan you are
