  1. He is on £1500 a week at the moment (I think) and I believe we were in with a shout of getting him in the summer but we were unwilling to offer more then £800. Can't see that changing much this summer even if we stay up. Would love to see him play for us, he will always score a lot of goals at this level
  2. At the end of the day we have taken 4 points out of 6 in the first two games which is an excellent start and one that sets us up nicely for the double header in Edinburgh.
  3. They seem to have lost £67 million out of £70 million raised in the last 18 months. Even for Rangers that seems to be staggering mismanagement. No scouting network, no investment in youth development but hey "still the most successful club side in the history of the world" blah blah blah
  4. Gallacher McMillan Mair Piccolo ATS Fraser Bauban Bannigan Elliot Higgy Dools
  5. You can accept bad performances now and again, they're inevitable during the course of a season. What is difficult to accept is the complete lack of fight and belief we showed today. Overpowered and out-fought by a team that were near enough already relegated. Difficult to single out the most culpable but I'll say Taylor-Sinclair, Bannigan, Taylor and Doolan were bloody awful
  6. Hearts away in midweek will be superb
  7. Very solid team performance today. Gallacher didn't have much to do and couldn't do much about the goal. On the whole the defence was nice and solid, McMillan was very impressive and Piccolo didn't let May bully him and was very good in the second half imo. Bannigan and Fraser were both very good again, bossing the midfield. Bauben had his best game so far, really breaking up play well but it wouldn't hurt him to have a shot on goal. Erskine and Elliot both worked hard but not much came off for them. Taylor and Doolan caused problems all day. Nice to finally get something from a game when we deserved it!
  8. Perfect start! With Boyd booked for County hopefully Taylor can really cause some problems
  9. Agree completely. If he can cut out the silly bookings/red cards then there is no limit to where he can go in the game
  10. Happy with that result today. I think we have to accept that their goal was just a very, very good move. The ball by GMS was sensational and then Robertson (what a great player he is) did very well. We never gave up which was pleasing. Gallagher and Mair have made a massive difference at the back!
  11. Time for the excuses to stop, 3 points is essential today!
  12. Looks like we got that West Ham midfielder (George Moncur). On paper this guy looks like a very decent loan signing.
  13. Pretty fair result. We didn't create many clear cut chances, rode our luck a bit with Thompson forgetting to kick the ball and the one that hit the post. Sort of game we have been losing. Central defence was ok, Muirhead had a very good game, McMillan also showed he should probably be first choice right back. ATS and Bannigan showed how important they are for the team, very good performances by both. Fox will have to be patient for a while Gallagher is doing very well.
  14. I was at the game. Perhaps I should have phrased my point better, what I'm trying to get at is when both him and the opposition player attack the ball he doesn't win the header regularly enough. Imo Piccolo wins far more battles in the air against the opposition striker
  15. Piccolo should be starting ahead of Balatoni everyday of the week for me. Yes he is prone to the odd stupid error but he is learning all the time. Plus he probably wins 95% of the headers he goes for whereas Balatoni wins about 10% if he hasn't bumped into the other centre half or headed thin air whilst attempting it.
  16. The first two County goals seemed a bit soft by Fox. Fair enough if he saw them late but they weren't exactly rifled into the net
  17. For me McMillan was badly missed today, his positional sense and defensive ability is far beyond O'Donnell. Muirhead also surely has to come back in to play alongside Piccolo. He seems to be a much better communicator plus he can actually cover some ground and doesn't seem afraid of a challenge like Balatoni. The gap between the two central defenders was a joke today and basically led Motherwell to have as many chances through the middle as they wanted.
