  1. Of course it is, I apparently can't use a calculator properly!
  2. Nisbet has never scored a single competitive goal for us in 19 appearances, so a rate of 0 every 19 games. Azeez got 3 goals in 46 appearances for us, so a rate of 1 goal every 12 games. You're wrong.
  3. At this moment, Nisbet is significantly worse than Azeez was.
  4. **** it, just put Edwards up front. He won't be very good there but at least he'll close down the defence and make a nuisance of himself. Cerny. Ntriansky Keown Turnbull Booth Bannigan Barton Elliott Erskine Lawless Edwards
  5. I believe Stokes pre-season has involved getting pished in just about every establishment in Edinburgh. I'm not sure he'll be ready for this game.
  6. Coventry City make Livingston look like a very well run club, I'm pretty sure that atmosphere isn't conducive to getting the best out of players.
  7. Would imagine we'd still have needed to pay off his contract but nothing on top of that, as I can't see any club agreeing that they'll pay him off if he finds a new club... could be that we couldn't afford the lump sum, but are paying his wages now with a view to signing him for free later on.
  8. Since you don't know which runners up will be going through, or who will be seeded. Even if you did that it wouldn't eliminate the possibility of the Dundee situation happening.
  9. We got Barton from League 2, Osman from League 1, Dumbuya from League 1...
  10. Also the fact that it wasn't until later in the window doesn't mean he wasn't first choice. Could very well be that we've been after him all summer but he was keeping his options open. If he was some well known diddy like Alan Gow or something I'd take the desperation chat, but given he did quite well in Scotland and has done quite well (from the looks of it) since, it doesn't really add up.
  11. Maybe not, McLaughlin seemed to be part of the 3 attacking midfielders when he came on, whereas Nisbet is obviously an out and out striker. Could just be that is being stronger in that position that up front has limited McLaughlins playing time if that's where Archie sees him playing. He looked good though, really confident on the ball. Unfortunately Nisbet hasn't been able to grab his opportunity, although the service to him was garbage today.
  12. That's me convinced that some poster on here knows the ins and outs of the various contract offers he received then.
  13. Are we just taking the Erwin thing as indisputable fact then?
  14. Technically yes, but we could also do much, much better for a fraction of the wages I'm sure Sammon would be after. He's garbage, absolutely garbage.
  15. If we win the rest of our games, we're absolutely guaranteed to go through. There's not a chance that 10 points won't be enough for us to get, at worst, one of the 4 best runners up spots.
  16. Says at the bottom he'll be on the "Professional Game Board" (whatever that is) so presumably he can't be on both or its too time consuming to do both.
  17. Just to be clear, I don't think he was entirely to blame for that performance, and certainly I remember times when he looked like there was definitely a player in there, but for the most part he was out of his depth. A loan may well have helped him, but it wasn't to be. He appears to be some kind of minor celebrity in Mexico these days anyway, so I'm sure he's fine with how everything turned out.
  18. A real pity that he was an absolutely appalling defender. His performance in the 5-1 v Motherwell is probably the worst individual display by any Thistle player since we came back up. Genuinely horrific.
  19. Scott McDonald can **** off. That is all.
  20. We're quite clearly slightly better than at the start of last season, or at the very least I'd say we're not any worse. Goalkeeping options of Cerny, Scully and Sneddon is better than Cerny and Scully both being injured and having David Crawford in goals. We've effectively replaced Lindsay with Keown, and also now have Barton who can play there too. With Dumbuya out, we only have Elliott at right back, instead of Ziggy Gordon or David Syme (now of League 2 Cowdenbeath...) being our choices there. Bannigan and Fraser are back in midfield, and them with Osman, Barton and McCarthy should be good midfield options. Remember that in our first game our central midfield partnership was Sean Welsh and David Wilson... I'd say any combination of our current midfield options should be better than that. Spittal is better than Amoo, and we've kept the rest of our attacking midfielders... We need depth up front, but we relied pretty heavily on Doolan in that department anyway. I'm really not sure in which department our starting 11 is significantly weaker than last season. We need depth certainly, but I'd say if you took 11 from this seasons squad it'd be superior to last seasons.
  21. I'd hope he'd turn him down because he's a racist, horrible ****. But in any case, it's clear that if Archie is choosing between two players of comparable quality then he'd rather the one that can play on the left more comfortably.
  22. That's not what anyone's suggesting. Being more comfortable on one foot than the other is not the same as only being able to stand on your weaker foot. And no one is saying that it's completely unthinkable that a right footer can play at left centre back, just that it would be preferable to have a natural left footer there
  23. The vast majority of the game as a centre back relies upon instinct. This is when making decisions about backing off, when to move in and clearing the ball. It therefore stands to reason that they will fare better when they feel more confident in making these decisions, and will obviously feel more confident if they are playing on their favoured side where their stronger foot is utilised more. A right footed centre back will obviously be more apprehensive about clearing the ball with his weaker foot, for example, which may delay this decision and can be crucial.
