  1. A reminder that tickets are now on sale! for £6 available from any JTB member or by emailing [email protected] The £6 will also include hot food, so no need to worry about a Friday night out with no dinner! There are still horses to be bought and named at £3, again please email or get in touch with any board member.
  2. Next issue coming out for St Mirren game (I believe).
  3. We still have the bing...for another year anyway.
  4. We've spoken to Maxi and the Quiz will be moved.
  5. David was co-opted last year and was elected at the AGM earlier this month.
  6. Sorry Will, missed this last night. Current Board members and their roles: myself, Donald Larmour - Secretary Douglas Rimmer - Treasurer David Mains - Club Board Rep Morag McHaffie - Chair Gary Gentles - Board Member Alan Limond - Board Member Paul Devine - Board Member
  7. I realise it is pretty late and this probably isn't the best time for me to post (but as I won't get another chance until after tea-time tomorrow)..... What David has said is more or less my view on the current and historical situation. PT is correct in that it was David Beattie who used the 'leap of faith' line and since then hasn't been terribly complamentory of the Trust, despite what we have done to help the club. (paid for McNamara to join the club, half of Lawless' jaw op & for a new physio table last year, promote CF fund etc) I see no reason why the Trust can't work alongside One Thistle, the PTFC board, or anyone else other than their own misgivings against the Trust. I realise that there is work to be done BY the Trust to remove this stigma, but it obviously takes a lot longer to create a positive reputation than it does to destroy one. For CF share issue - we have recieved 0 shares, but have started taking commission (I mentioned this in another thread). Going back to PT's earlier post: The Community Trust is a registered charity, the Trust is an IPS and as such required to have elections, audited accounts etc. Minutes are not currently posted on the website, this is something we will change this season. As such people will be able to see what is being discussed and what actions the Trust Board are taking. We currently represent our members and while we don't have a seat on PTFC board, we can only really get answers from the club board at AGMs, otherwise it's through Ian Maxwell, who has always been brilliant when he has the authority to deal with anything we've asked. Just one last point on the issue of Trust Board transition, the named positions (Secretary & Treasurer) no longer have a time limit and while can be challenged at any election process, they are no longer required to step down after a set amount of years. This was approved at the Trust AGM 2012, so there should always be some continuity of board members when placed against the 2 year cycles of normal board members.
  8. We lost a lot of members following on from the Propco situation and it's obviously taken longer than we would have liked to try and get the Trust Board sorted again, in terms of numbers etc. Now (I feel) we have got good people on the Board, who also now have experience of a year or two in their roles. We will be looking to launch a couple of new schemes this season while also increasing communication via website, twitter, on here, emails and of course the programme page.
  9. Certainly Will, not a problem.
  10. On Friday 8th November the Jags Trust will be holding a Race Night in Community Central Halls. Horses are available to buy, with races to be sponsored! Horses cost £3 to buy and name, while to sponsor a race this will cost £20. All Race sponsors will have their name on the Trust website, the race card on the night, as well as in the offical PTFC matchday programme. There will be a fully licensed bar, and with your ticket you will get dinner provided as well. Tickets cost £6 and will go on sale shortly. Further details will be posted just as soon as they are confirmed. In the meantime, if you would like to sponsor a race, buy a horse or have any questions at all please email [email protected] or feel free to post below/DM me.
  11. Yes, we have. We were able to look at the books after the first year (rather Maggie did as she was treasurer at that point). For commission, Eddie Prentice had discussions with Douglas (current treasurer) and we were sent a cheque. Based on those two things we were able to work out the monthly commission and now deduct this at source - before we write the cheque to send to Firhill we take off the commission amount. OBviouslly we need to see the books from the more recent years but we've not really heard anything from the club in regards to this.
  12. We do not have anyone on the Charity Board, no. However Barry McClelland is kind of 'in charge' of the charity group and we've been starting to work with him in order to avoid any duplication while still being able to carry out our community responsibilites. Some of the information, while it might appear old it just means that our aims haven't changed.
  13. Oops, sorry! I'm currently working through the paypal members (as this is around the time the majority come off) so I can post a definitive once that's done, but I'd say approx 200 based on last years numbers.
  14. That's a fair point Norgethistle - outwith the Meet the Manager and POTY there aren't really many things we can do, but again it's something we've been looking at and trying to get more events going for this year. In terms of the website, again if nothing is happening then it's quite hard to post an update, but as I've said with more events coming up this should also hopefully be less of an issue as well.
  15. Since I've been on the Trust Board, I don't think we've ever turned down a request from the club for anything. But it doesn't help when you're trying to build a working relationship if the head of the other organisation sees fit to constantly play down or just outright dismiss anything that you're doing for them.
  16. As for the TAG/Supporters Federation vs Jags Trust argument, as MrD and LLD say, the Federation won't be able to challenge the PTFC LTD Board, where as with the 1M shares, the Trust is still able to influence matters when it comes to voting time at AGMs etc. Last year when the club called the EGM for trying to change some of their rules, they were all voted down first time around after we had made quite clear that we wouldn't simply allow them to change them without at least trying to explain the reasons for doing so.
  17. Apologies for being late to the conversation - IIRC this meeting was called primarly to talk about Propco, though of course nothing was off limits. I don't think I'll be wrong in assuming the 'some' are the same folk as the 'Northwest Three'? Dealing with that part first, of the Three, only one remains on the JTB, and if you believe that person is purely seeking power then I don't really know what to say as it's clear that the Trust currently doesn't have any - at least not with PTFC LTD board. I don't want to have to talk about people resigning from the Trust Board (if the people involved want to, then I can't stop them) but I think I can say that there was a difference in opinion of how best to take the Trust forward. However, after a few years of struggling to get by, I think we do now have a good bunch of folk together: Gary gentles - one of the managers at CCH, David Mains who I'm sure many of you know helps to set up & run the Firhill Cup, Paul Devine of the Cumbernauld bus as well. Hopefully be able to push on and hopefully address some of the issues - namely with communication. I will admit that when I took over the memership stuff after Fiona left the board I didn't appreciate how time consuming it can actually be - though now I've been at it for a year it should hopefully be smoother - we've also tried to relaunch the Twitter account and we'll be trying to do a few more newsletters this year as well. I realise these are only small steps into a larger problem but we are trying to turn it around.
  18. Presumably Whittaker may now be required for midfield if anyone else get injured, so Wallace would then come into the team.
  19. Just a wee bump for tomorrow night.
  20. Think Hargreaves is quite good (certainly compared to G Neville, Carragher, other former players). The BT Sport Sunday night European stuff is actually really good as well.
  21. 1,613 Jags fans there today. Good to hear.
  22. Baird has the ball in the net, but offside!
