  1. Sorry to resurrect this but I wasn't about when it was started. My first Jags game would have been against Queen of the South in the League Cup Section games August 12th 1970. My two older brothers had went to a few games in the previous season and I must have pestered my Dad to take me which he did. The Jags won 4-1 with goals from Coulston(2) , Bone and McQuade. I really don't remember too much about it to be honest (I was only 7) but it was the start of a long journey which has sometimes seen me go by the wayside but I've always come back. As for my Dad after seeing 3 losing cup finals in the 1950's, when we won in '71 he decided never to return to see the Jags as he said it would never get any better! As for my son I took him to see us play St. Johnstone in October '93 just after his 3rd birthday. The score that day was . . 4 - 1 to the Jags including a Roddy Grant hat-trick Now if only I can get my H*n-loving stepson to let me take my Grandson to a game next season for another 4-! win.
  2. I see the Junior cup Final is tomorrow with Auchinleck playing Linlithgow. I assume that with ex-Jags, Billy Gibson playing and Derek Fleming the coach we are all supporting Linlithgow. Don't think I'll watch it, as apparently the last time Alba showed a Cup Final from Livingston it didn't turn out too good. Anyhoo, does anyone know what other ex-Jags are out there plying their trade in the Juniors at the moment?
  3. Is that one of those duff 70's wall murals on the gable end of the tenements on Northpark Street?

  9. Could it be the late-80's and it's half time in a Clyde home game?

  11. Who cares anymore I'm fatigued out with Rangers and their problems. That joke's not funny anymore. It's just boring.
  12. I am surprised they have never re-promoted the buy a brick campaign. I know that every now and then as I enter the turnstiles I touch the brick I bought for my Dad for luck. He's been dead for over ten years now but it makes me smile and remember him when I see it. I recently turned fifty and I'm sure my wife would have bought one for me so my son can do the same when I slip this mortal coil. I'm sure there are lost of others who would feel the same as sadly many a Jags fan has passed in the interim years since they last did this. It was a good way of raising money but for myself it's also honouring the legacy of supporting the Jags my father gave to me (or is that a curse?) and I think many others would want this too.

  14. Christ, for a minute I thought we were going to sign him too!
  15. Hopefully the bank holiday weekend explains the delay and tomorrow we should hear news. . .hopefully.
  16. Classic piece of revisionism this; Stuart Maconie in the May 11th edition of Radio Times wrote about watching Wigan in the 70's and their achievement in winning the F.A Trophy in 1973 but someone wrote in this week to correct this and apparently they got beat 2-1 in the final to Scarborough. Does this mean in forty years time we'll be able to talk about the Jags doing the double in 2012/13?
  17. I wonder if East Stirling demanded an indepenedent recount.
  18. I noticed that Yore publishing have more or less retired form the printing more books but they do seem to have some of the Fourth reprint of the Jags book left. http://www.yore.demon.co.uk/Newsletter.pdf
