I took in my first ever hockey game yesterday. Although I found the music a bit loud and the whole "show" side of it a little over the top, I think there are quite a few things that clubs and fans could learn from the whole matchday experience. It'd take someone more in the know than me (I quite like my wee seat at the City End of the JHS) but I think it'd be really interesting to see what some of the North Standers make of the atmosphere created at the Braehead Arena, and to see if PTFC could lift a few ideas from the stuff the Clan do off the ice that helps to make everyone have a good time. For me, it was amazing to see over 3000 fans (hunners of families by the way) totally support a team. I know it's unrealistic to expect any of us to go through 90 minutes without getting annoyed at one of our players (Andy Ross. Hated that guy.) but their unconditional support for all of the team was pretty incredible, even when somebody made an arse of it. All of that aside, I really recommend going. Great way to spend a couple of hours. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

BBC, reliable as ever, say we want Callum McGregor (yes, the only consistent performer at Celtic who is getting a serious run of games in the first team) on loan. I'll believe it when I see it.

A pedant writes: A 'C' is probably a fair grade overall, but given what is actually written in the review, specifically the mention of making the top six, surely the distribution of a higher grade would've been more appropriate?

Amazed to see so many plaudits for Welsh. He improved as the game went on but seems odd to single him out for praise when he gifted the ball to County, allowing them to create 3 clear cut chances. He wants an age on the ball and will either get caught out or fouled. Archie, quite rightly, gave him an absolute bollocking during the first half. As I said, he did improve thereafter and set up two or three great counter attacks in the second half. Bannigan, Dumbaya, Booth, Doolan were all superb. Seabo and Lindsay look like they've played alongside each other for years. Thought Amoo offered more than Muirhead - good sub at a good time.

How many games did it take Somner to reach 83 goals? How does Doolan compare? I realise it's a totally different game these days. Always remember Richie Benaud congratulating Shane Warne on equalling his wicket tally. Warne was quick to point out it had taken him twice as many matches to reach Benaud's record. Benaud, typically, just blushed.
