  1. I don't think it'll be as easy as you might think. I've been down a few times for games, but i have a One United membership that allows me to buy tickets that are on general sale, but these tend to be the midweek Carling Cup games. Any league games that I get tickets for are through Viagogo on my membership and the fees that they charge stick about £10-£15 on the price of the ticket. The only game i have got a ticket for that i didn't need to use my membership for was a pre-season friendly with Valencia a couple of years ago. It may be worth phoning up nearer the time to see if there are any tickets, but i'd suggest a better bet would be to go to the stadium on the day as there will be folk selling tickets outside. Edited to add; A One United membership is circa £40 a season and only entitles you to one ticket per membership.
  2. Hold on. Boyd turns round and says he'll not be back whilst Burley was in charge as he didn't like him, and Grant B (rightly) criticises him for it. He then turns round and does the exact same thing himself now it's Levein in charge, double standards surely? I agree about Brown, i thought at the time that he would have been a good choice. How do you know for sure that Levein hasn't spoken to Fletcher? Maybe he has tried and Fletcher wasn't interested? Nobody knows for sure but if Fletcher thinks he can pick and choose when he's available for the national team he can gtf.
  3. Fair enough but as i said, I support Scotland, not Craig Levein. He'll play one up front so why have 3-4 strikers in the squad? There are 5 midfield places up for grabs so it makes sense to have 10 midfielders in the squad. Davidson wouldn't be in the squad if we had everyone to pick from either.
  4. At Hampden, with a trophy for the winner of said 9 points.
  5. The game was live on Sky here on Sunday morning about 6am. I had it taped and watched it on Sunday afternoon without knowing the score. I had a suspicion that it had went to ET as the programme had taped way over 2hrs but i watched it all anyway. It was pretty decent but Extra time itself was much better Couldn't believe it when they came back from 2 down to get it to penalties. It was funny seeing so many players that i recognised from playing in the scottish lower leagues, McGlinchey and Daniel McBreen being two and then Erik Paartalu scoring the equaliser for Brisbane
  6. To date the qualifying campaign hasn't been brilliant but i'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment. He has admitted that he underestimated the ability of the players and seems to be allowing them to express themselves. Since HT in the Spain game i think we're heading in the right direction. Ok wins against the faroes and a depleted NI team don't mean we're world beaters but we're heading in the right direction i think. I'm sure, like me, you hope that he proves you wrong. Hopefully you'll be back at Hampden while he's still in charge as that will surely mean we're reaching the levels we achieved under McLeish
  7. I'm going because i support Scotland, not Craig Levein. I'm guessing that he'll play a 4-2-3-1 the same formation he played against Spain, the World and European champions and the greatest footballing team on the planet at the moment (internationally anyway) Don't let one formation in one game fool you
  8. I'll be there, kilt and all Really looking forward to this one! Who says that wearing a kilt makes them a better fan? In terms of your point about the locals, when I was in Prague there were numerous weddings in the main square in the morning and i got asked on 3 seperate occasions by brides to be in their wedding photos. Don't tar everyone with your skewered view of Scotland fans, not all of us are the same. I agree that Hamish doesn't speak for every scotland fan, but at no point has he ever claimed to do so. He is the spokesman for the club that he is part of and only ever comments on their behalf when asked to do so. He is actually a really nice guy too.
  9. I'd actually dispute that, as sad as it may be. At Thistle's level this is definitely the case but for teams that will be contesting the Champions League final the income stream from their supporters is at the very worst equalled by TV money etc. It says it all whn the likes of Wigan can pay the wages they do playing in front of a half empty stadium every other week. Or the fact that it was £46 to see them play Crawley at the weekend
  10. The only ones that you can genuinely compare from your list is Carroll and Agbonlahor. They were at the same stage of their careers as McGeady and McCarthy when Scotland approached them. The rest of them were obviously not going to be picked for their country of birth, so i believe that is slightly different. I want people playing for Scotland that consider themselves Scottish and actually want to play for the team. As such, the likes of McGeady and McCarthy are no great loss.
  11. Ross Mathie approached Accies and McCarthy with a view to calling him up and he was told that he wanted to represent ROI. The SFA then respected his wishes and made no further move to cap him. As i said previously, the whole blaming the SFA thing was to try and take the pressure off him.
  12. Whilst it is indeed true that he was never invited to play for Scotland at youth level, he had indictaed his desire to play for Ireland anyway. He had made it pretty clear he wanted to play for them and that Scotland was not really an option. See these pretty clear and direct comments from the man himself making it pretty clear what his intentions were. Edited to add; I think the whole issue with trying to blame the SFA was to try and take some of the pressure off the lad. He was getting a lot of abuse at various grounds all over the country and getting a lot of grief from Rangers fans.
  13. No they didn't. He has never wanted to represent Scotland, he wanted to represent Ireland due to his grandfather.
  14. I'm going to Dublin for the Scotland game so will miss it Cheers SFA
  15. Pretty pish planning by the SFA for this to be honest. Was looking forward to going to the game at the weekend but won't make the rearranged game as I am heading to Dublin tomorrow for the Nations Cup game. Apparently if Aberdeen hadn;t scored that late winner they would have been playing Dunfy in the replay on Wednesday night, the same night Scotland are playing. Pure pish
  16. Seventh goal in the game duly delivered. For Stirling though!
  17. The laws of the game state that if a player uses "excessive force" or is "reckless" in the opinion of the referee, then he must be shown a red card. I think both tackles were fairly reckless, and as such both players had to go.
  18. Was it not last season, or the season before that a Celtic player was brought down outside the box and the Accies player was sent off and a penalty awarded? Those kind of incidents are conveniently glossed over by Lennon and Co and only the "injustices" are continuously brought up. They say that these kind of decisions even themselves out, well certainly in terms of Accies v Celtic at NDP, the decisions do seem to have evened out. Not that you'll hear anyone at Celtic admitting to that
  19. We signed Rod McDonald for 100k if memory serves. I have a hazy recollection of that being touted as our most expensive signing to date, but i can't be sure
  20. The snow will be kept on the pitch until the very last minute i'd imagine. It's the only thing keeping the deep frost off the surface and is probably just as effective as the undersoil heating would be, and cheaper. I think it's the state of the surrounding areas that would be a bigger factor rather than the playing surface.
  21. I think you'd be better heading in a little earlier and parking in the streets surrounding PC World (If it's still there). I've always found spaces around there if i've headed in early enough.
  22. If you go to a take that gig, i'll laugh at you until i or you die (whichever comes first). However........if you make sure and force John to go along, i promise to rip the pish out of him and leave you out of it
  23. Were we not also meant to be playing QOTS during that time, but that's not postponed due tot he Challenge Cup final?
  24. Burke has made himself unavailable for Scotland. Crainey has looked suspect everytime i've seen him this season, but he probably should be in the squad as cover for left back. With regards to Bardsley, I can't think of any other natural right backs he could have called up
