  1. This is our year...everything's working out in the end
  2. Alas my two were singing the Jackie McNamara song at EEP . I know what you mean about the shyness, they were egging each other on to shout 'come on Thistle'. The clapping song ending with Thistle is the one they've learned easiest so perhaps that should be the starting point, building up to the 'hello hello' song.......im joking, calm doon
  3. I've made a big effort to bring the brainwashing of my children to fruition this season...and roped my poor wife into now too. Dunfermline last week saw the first real fruits of my labour, and much of that was down to the regulars on the Cumbernauld bus. Yesterday the fruits began to ripen thanks to them getting a new away top each, sitting in the futures zone (although I think it was actually the part meant for the ultras) and meeting Stephen O'Donnell and Steven Lawless. Last night I came into the livingroom to find my son playing on the floor with his signed pictures and the 2 programmes produced so far this season. Today they saw themselves plastered all over Facebook thanks to myself and the club photographer taking the crowd shots. Tonight I told the wee man that if the scarf he lost yesterday had not been handed in a Thistle fan is gona give him another one the exact same (cheers Gordie). Looking out clothes for after school tomorrow as they are going to a friends, both chose their Thistle tops. Brainwashing complete thanks to the Thistle family. The Thistle family is amazing...looks like me n Lenny are up for the challenge of trying to make the Thistle family section amazing (will make up for missing out on the madness in the new shed). Ideas/suggestions would be nice tho.
  4. Same steward wouldn't let us through 'incase anything happened to the wee yin'. Fair enough but it was some battle getting through all the pie stall queues...would've been safer to let us just use the ladies closest to the family section. Is there a reason why that section wasn't moved to the city end of the JHS?
  5. On a similar note,y son lost his scarf sometime between full time and getting to the Aiken suite to meet the players. Simple red n yellow one with PTFC at the end. I know it's a long shot but if anyone came across it he'd love it back. Hoping he left it at his seat in the kids section and someone at the club found it. Cheers. Sorry for jumping in NS, but similar issues and all that
  6. Paton has been immense this season. I was among his worst critics a season or two ago (a fact recognised by the man himself) but his performances since being switched to midfield have been brilliant. Well done Paul. A testimony to him and Shuggie that the two players I dreaded losing, Cairney and Rowser, have not been missed at all.
  7. Pretty sure they had a student concession last game of the season. £8 iirc.
  8. All we need to do is get a bunch of parents who are taking their kids to the game to get together and join in with the north stand when it gets going.
  9. Ha, I said buy but I really meant donated. 5 every game, even changed tactic by buying them off different sellers. Oh well, one day
  10. My thoughts exactly toaster. Great post imo
  11. Was only 10 out today...the winning ticket must have been bought from one of the ladies at the city end of the JHS concourse. Closest I've been in all the years I've been buying tickets.
  12. Paton was man of the match for me too, but O'Donnell deserved the award too. I'm really enjoying the way we're playing this season and our ability to mix between silky football, patient build up play, long ball and 'dig in' styles. The movement at times is phenomenal and the ability to create space and use it wisely has been very evident. More of the same on Tuesday night please
  13. You are of course correct, but they hear that and worse at away games anyway. I was being a bit tongue in cheek and I'm not calling for the age restriction to be lifted...mourning my own loss more than anything. Was good to see you all doin the firhill dance Perhaps enlisting some of the regular parents to help get the kids zone joining in might help...but tbh we could hardly hear the singing so more peeps in the north stand would also help.
  14. Falkirk game I was inthe north stand and loved...reminded me of the atmosphere of old Firhill. Today was in the JHS with my family and it was like firhill of last season. What can be done to get these kids dining along and getting into it? There were a few giving it 'come on Thistle' but it was pretty meh. Wondering if lifting the under 16s thingy can be achieved, I know my two would love it...although not sure Miss Hanigan (LMJ ) would be too impressed One negative was having to walk all the way through the JHS concourse to take my wee girl to the ladies...and then having to wait in a reasonably long queue so she could pee (also, it was handy that there was someone on the queue that I knew and could look after my daughter inside the toilet where the queue continues). To be fair tho, I'm not too sure what can be done about this, the ladies toilet at the family section couldn't be accessed by home fans as it was in the away end. Overall, I prefer the north stand but probably won't get to experience it as often as I'd like...a price I'm prepared to pay to ensure my kids grow up in the jaggy tradition.
  15. If we beat Raith rovers and avoid sevco rovers in the final I think we'll all be enjoying another trip to Hampden this season. Unhatched chickens everywhere
  16. Agreed, but the abuse our players took at coulter was more than simple booing, and who says he was getting boo'd because of the club he plays for? Some might have for that reason, others for the fact he's an ex jambo playing at Easter road...for me, I'd have boo'd him because he's a thuggish sell out 3rd division player who doesn't deserve to Play for Scotland. Also, to send a message to levein that I don't want him as 'one of my own Players'. Just don't get all the 'worst fans in the world after OF fans' nonsense from people who found our treatment of our players after coulter acceptable.
  17. I'm just wondering how many of those who are decrying the booing of Blackk condoned or took part in the abuse dished out to our own players after the draw with Coulter.
  18. I'm pretty sure that passage of play led to the throw in, which then led to the goal...I know the highlights could be edited to make it look like that, but I don't think they have been.
  19. Ach well, you're doin better than me...I can't even post here using my phone .
  20. Seriously? You think that will motivate players who were not even at Firhill more than the desire to make it 9 points out of 9?
  21. I'm sure he'll express some views on it...once he's recovered from the shock of the words "FREE PROGRAMME" Some good ideas here, particularly like the half time entertainment stuff. The simplest things to keep away fans happy is to provide half decent catering which is doesn't take an eternity to buy. Never really been one to moan about these things, but went to get some drinks with about 5 minutes of half time remaining. There was about 30 people in the queue and about 6/7 people serving...missed about 10 minutes of the second half and the 2 chances we created during that spell
  22. This shit is spreading now Just as well I'm big enough to take it
  23. Don't get it...is that a short guy joke or have I missued the 2.4 thingy lol?
  24. Nah, the banana skin was Tuesday...we got back to our feet quick enugh though. Normally it's just me, and occassionally one of the kids. Next Saturday will be a 2.4 family, same as today
