  1. Sometimes you've just got deal with being beaten by a better team however it is even more difficult to take when your competing against the referee as well. That was one of the most one sided homer performances I've seen in a long time but I'm sure mr Walsh thought he did a great job in pleasing the big boys at our expense. I actually thought Danny devine and keown played well which seems funny as we shipped three goals but as others have said nisbet just isn't good enough. He seemed lacklustre in effort when closing down defenders and was easily muscled off the ball by their number 4. He really looked as though he didn't want the ball played to him at all. I only hope doolan isn't out for long as it looked like a hamstring injury. Credit to Chris erskine for his effort today, second half he was busting a gut. If only adam Barton had a fifth of his work ethic. A striker this week please Archie or we are gonna be In trouble.
  2. He was hardly unlucky to get a second yellow, in fact he also put in a stupid challenge before he got booked the first time which the ref missed. Both pointless challenges where he was highly unlikely to get the ball. Anyway, that aside great fast flowing passing from jags today. Really impressed with spittal, great pace always wanting the ball and making bursting runs that we are used to from banzo who seems to have dropped into the Sean Welsh position and role. Credit to st mirren fans for staying till the end, thought they deserved a goal for all their second half shots. Not so long ago we were in the same position as them which makes you appreciate how far Archie had taken us over the last few years.
  3. I think for me there's a difference between what I would consider the attitude of the players and the mindset. With regards to the game itself I would say the mindset of the players was more of a "once we start losing we are going to get pumped" which is very poor and up the manager and coaches to sort out. The time the attitude of the players was a problem for me was after the final whistle when most sloped off up the tunnel. Ok no one likes being gubbed but neither do the fans enjoy seeing their team getting gubbed either and I think a bit of self pity took over. Doolan cerny and keown showed class by staying out after, I think a few players should maybe stop thinking about how silly Aberdeen made them look personally and be grateful that fans stayed on to show their appreciation for the effort over the 38 games ( well maybe 33!).
  4. Gutted not to win that given the amount of chances we created in the second half. Barton's shot of the post could have bounced anywhere as could Stevies shot off the bar but such is our luck. Thought big Abdul had a really good game, along with erskine and Lindsay and keown at the back were superb.christie had a poor first half but played well second as the wing back. Only criticism i felt was that Archie should have made the subs a bit earlier as erskine was tiring and big azeez could have held the ball up and taken some of the pressure off but I think the only way Killie were going to score was a freak goal as they offeredpretty much nothing up the goal. To be fair to cerny he did make a great stop in the first half and as said by other posters is a cracking keeper so can't criticise him too much. There was certainly only one team deserving of a top 6 place based on the quality of football. Killie just lump it high and long to fatty Boyd and salmon, dreadful to watch. Beaton had a stinker of a game, countless fouls not given (majority made by Boyd) yet free kicks for nothing at other times. The standard of refereeing over the last few weeks has been just appalling.
  5. This. Liam Lindsay had by far the best game I've seen him. Just a pity he missed that chance. But his tackling, heading and marking was superb all game. Credit to Archie for realising that the doolan sub didn't change the game and for bringing on erskine. Chris completely changed the game after that are we stretched their back 4. Him and booth worked well together. Wonder what folk thought of the yellow card when doolan got through on the left? Ok there was cover but he tried to just swipe him out. A red maybe?
  6. Reading harterlys comments after the game I noticed he was moaning about the free kick for the second, however the point is Dundee has numeous soft free kicks slightly further out from goal and made nothing of them. Maybe he should look closer to home before moaning about possibly the one decision (or two) in the whole game that actually went in our favour. Another example was the challenge on azeez in the box that looked possibly a penalty but twenty seconds later the ref gave a foul to Dundee 50 yards up the park for exactly the same challenge. Also a shout out to big Darren odea who must need an entire pack of strepsils this morning after the moaning he did last night about EVERY decision. Just what on earth was he moaning about when he played the early taken free kick out of the park?
  7. Sorry, misadvertised, any realistic advice appreciated. It's cool, I've just changed his list to Santa from gear from stone island to river island. Whose laughing now!!!
  8. Me and his granny moaning at him, 4 thistle strips, a thistle water bottle for school and constantly telling him he won't ever see live football till he can go to ndp himself (hopefully not part of the wee fandans) later I've lost the battle. To be fair, Catholic primary school so I was happy it wasn't Celtic but after today I think accies aren't much better. Any advice appreciated!
  9. Couldn't agree more. I think the headache Archie has with the defence is Gordon was honking first half and there was zilch communication between him and cerny yet second half was easily the best I've seen ziggy since he signed, I thought he defended really well. He is so inconsistent. But is that the case because that he knows the guys he's playing against well? I don't know. Another problem is Barton is a class above most of the team and yet he's the last line of defence meaning we lose the majority of his vision of passing, if we can get a centre half and push him up to where Welsh sits we might be ok. I know Sean scored today but apart from that and his one shot close-ish to the goal he was awful. Caught in the ball constantly, slow in passing, corners were poor the list goes on. He seems to be well liked on here but I don't really see what he offers ( although Abdul is maybe as bad!).
  10. I don't blame you. Hamilton isn't half as bad a place as the likes of Paisley but the 'wee *****' ratio is so much worse. There was a boy walking past us singing about maryhil junkies with faded kangol trackies on with his cats deid, a spiffy roll up fag and with what looked like la gear trainers and I just wanted to grab him and punch his head in. If it wasn't a mile from my house I would never go back to ndp.
  11. The worrying thing is the 'casuals' weren't even pished as most of them were about 14 they were just wee fannies who think it's hard shouting obscenities in front of young kids. I was embarrassed to come from hamilton today as my wee boy wants to support accies but there's no way I could subject him to those wee Bawbags on a regular basis. As a family club they really need to get rid of these folk as even I felt threatened walking back to my car after the game. The police are worse than useless too. Accies also need to get the turnstiles situation sorted, that's the last 4 or 5 times I've taken 20 mins plus to get into the ground. It doesn't help that the gate I went into didn't even tell you the ticket price holding people up even more. With regards to the game completely agree erskines Intro changed the game and I stil don't understand why Edwards wasn't subbed for lawless later on as he had a stinker today. There comes a point where you have to just admit someone isn't good enough and today I think was azeezs, ok he's a good outlet and chases down well but his touch for a professional footballer is beyond shocking. He also needs to start watching the ball instead of the man as so many times he was trying to put the man off rather than just winning and holding the ball up (when he wasn't offside). At least we didn't get beat.
  12. Osmans foul was in the box and was a foul but he swan dived and I found it hilarious that about 5 Aberdeen players surrounded him at the throw in that was given after calling him a cheat when you had......Jonny Hayes falling over coz he's so fast that you can't touch him or it's a free kick, Rooney who's hard as nails when challenging for a ball outside the box but seems to weigh 5 stone when in it, stockley who thinks everytime he doesn't win a header it's a foul and Maddison who spent more time on his arse clutching his head than he did on his feet. Bobby madden seems to think the games should revolve around him, a puffed up tosspot. The Amoo foul second half summed him up, right through the back of Amoo, through the player to clear the ball, a blatant booking but not even a foul.gives nothing unless it's the big team as the only time he wants to see his name in the paper is if he awards the big team a decision. Bring back Willie Young!
  13. Sorry , so your suggesting that our free kicks and corners tonight were good? 2 out of how many? I so wish we were good at things like set pieces, corners etc but we aren't. Ok we scored one tonight thanks to a terrific Barton header despite being fouled but did you see any other corner/ free kick cause problems apart from Devines scoop over the bar from 3 yards? Look at the free kick second half 25 yards out. Gavin Hastings would have been proud of that. The only proper save their keeper made was a cross that hit shay Logan's napper and nearly ended up as an own goal.
  14. Well the only time I thought, wow why don't we do that every time, was Lindsay's throw in late on. I have missed the last couple of games as I've been away on holiday and before that it was 4 at the back with the usual left and right back standard throw ins down the line and flicks one to.....noone. It's a huge potential weapon, one which I think we need to expose more especially if our corners and free kicks are rubbish.
  15. McDaid came on against rangers at Ibrox (to booing because of his name) but I agree with your points. i was more frustrated with the fact that it took till 90 plus minutes for us to realise that if we do a long throw into the box Aberdeen struggled to handle it. Surely someone can throw the ball 20 odd yards?remember the s craigan throw and how teams struggled then? We are terrible at throw ins anyway so why not just launch it into the box?
  16. I think in truth Aberdeen could have stepped it up a gear had we scored again but it's so frustrating when they play that risky tactic and we get chances like we did late on in the game. That's obviously why they have dropped so many points, there were times they played like they were 3 up rather than just one goal in it. Their high pressing does force mistakes and I agree with others that it results in long high balls when our defence are closed down quickly and I thought azeez looked more tired than doolan when he was replaced as he wasn't able to chase down or put his physicality into his game after about 55 mins. But for the love of god can we please get someone who can take a free kick or corner, welshes efforts tonight apart from the one Barton scored from were absolutely honking. Lastly to note that Bobby madden is a f*cking useless ref and James Madison is a c*nt.
  17. The guy in the middle looks like Barry Elliott. Could be wrong though.
  18. At least he could use his Abdul's " an honest lad, if he hand balled he would admit it" jibe and I could half stomach it. Jimbo Duffy for me but there's no way Archie would leave us in this current state.
  19. Gavin rushford too although never really played for the first team much. God knows how big mad mental wasn't after his stalking of his ex. Jp mcbride now a hamilton druggy too, no jail time however more community service I think.
  20. I don't think he will get the chance to quit as they lost 6-1 tonight and his away record now stands at 4 points (and no wins) from a possible 75.
  21. Tell that to the bell end that decided he was standing all game as he cannae be doing with all this "sitting doon pish" despite him being the second front row next to me and standing right in front of two or three kids who looked about 5 or 6 who couldn't see a thing. Even his boy sat down so they could see but naw this plank stood arms folded for the entire first half blocking the view of god knows how many folk. A true 'big man'. Finally sat down in the second half but yesterday reiterated to me that if I had to sit next to some of our support every week then I think my trips to firhill would be severely reduced. Every support has an idiot element I guess.
  22. Archie needs to start getting some balls and drop a few players who seem to think they are guaranteed to start no matter how they perform. Stevie lawless hasn't kicked a ball all season, again today in the second half he trotted about doing very little and looks completely disinterested in helping booth out at the back. Also ziggy Gordon has got to go, Elliott played superbly last week against Motherwell and should never have been dropped, booths form is suspect at best this season and Gordon's been rank since he signed yet Christie was sub. The Welsh sub was a clear signal to all that we were taking a 2 nil defeat, with 15 mins to go and the h*ns for the taking its no wonder why so many fans were so annoyed at the final whistle. I don't think we will have had a better chance to beat sevco at Ibrox as they are a very poor side yet as others say we accepted defeat early in the second half with zero fight. Only positive for me was Ryan Edwards, superb chasing, closing down and energy. The only player that looked like they were trying to get us back into the game in the second half.
  23. Just my tuppence worth. I thought ziggy had the best game I've seen for us yesterday, pelting up the wing when possible and I thought he marked Nicholson well who's a tricky player and one of hearts 'creative outlets'. He does however lack the ability to get back and leaves us exposed at times. There was a point after about 40 mins where he strode part Chris Erskine breaking forward and I couldnt decide if ziggys getting faster or Erskine was blowing out of his erse. Into the second half I think Erskine looked done in so it must have been the latter but even thought Chris was tired he still looked the most likely to create something so Archie I think was right to keep him on. Looking at the hearts team I thought Sammon was excellent, big and strong and held the ball up well, but needs a poacher beside him to bang in the knock downs and tony watt in the first half was excellent. As mentioned Paterson is a excellent player despite the moron in the jhs who decided to shout random abuse at him saying he wasnae worth a tenner. I'll have a pint of what he's having before the saints game please. When you look at the shots stats you realise how many stops cerny made so I don't think I could blame him too much for the winner, gutting though it was.
  24. I'm not, after last weeks completely abject performance I couldn't justify spending more money on watching thistle today. However I'm happy to hear he is playing well, but you can't really argue that based on the last two weeks performances alone he should have been dropped. Anyway I'm happy for him to prove me wrong if thistle win and he continues to up his game.
  25. What does Sean Welsh have to do to get dropped?
