  1. The same as kris doolan when he was appointed or Alan Archibald except unlike them before they were appointed he managed a team to promotion ?
  2. Not fit enough ……! Brian Graham says his Partick Thistle squad simply is not fit enough after the Jags let a one-goal lead slip against Airdrieonians. Graham and Mark Wilson led the side for the first time on Saturday since being unveiled as the interim management team earlier in the week, with the former opening the scoring during the first half against Rhys McCabe’s struggling side. The Jags couldn’t see the win through though, and had little answer to Ben Wilson’s leveller after the break as the contest finished 1-1. “There were a few times where obviously decision-making has probably killed us,” Graham explained. “But the principles of what we were after in the first half was clearly there to see. “But then I think second half, you can see we tire and I think it's been an issue. The full season we're not fit enough and I thought the last 20 minutes we were on our feet.”
  3. The club structure has zero to do with it … it’s clearly solely the responsibility of the board . interesting that 4 days after sacking doolan they have not appointed Graham .
  4. What evidence do you have Graham is being considered for the managers job or have you just made it up ?

  7. From LeChat ai……what does a sporting director do……worth noting that Graham said he spent all of Wednesday trying to get a player in …… The role of a sporting director at a football club is multifaceted and crucial for the overall success and strategic direction of the team. Here are some key responsibilities and aspects of the role: 1. **Strategic Planning**: The sporting director works closely with the club's management to develop and implement a long-term vision and strategy for the team. This includes setting goals for the season and beyond, and ensuring that all departments are aligned with these objectives. 2. **Player Recruitment and Transfers**: One of the most visible aspects of the role is overseeing the recruitment of new players and managing transfers. The sporting director works with scouts and analysts to identify talent that fits the club's needs and philosophy, and negotiates deals to bring these players in. 3. **Contract Negotiations**: They are often involved in negotiating contracts with players and their agents, both for new signings and for contract renewals with existing players. 4. **Youth Development**: The sporting director typically oversees the club's youth academy and development programs, ensuring that young talent is nurtured and given opportunities to progress to the first team. 5. **Coaching Staff**: They work closely with the head coach and the coaching staff to ensure that the team's training and tactics align with the club's overall strategy. In some cases, the sporting director may also be involved in the hiring and firing of coaching staff. 6. **Budget Management**: The sporting director is responsible for managing the club's budget for player wages, transfers, and other football-related expenses. They must ensure that the club operates within its financial means and complies with financial fair play regulations. 7. **Performance Analysis**: They oversee the analysis of the team's performance, using data and analytics to identify areas for improvement and to inform strategic decisions. 8. **Liaison Role**: The sporting director acts as a liaison between the coaching staff, the players, and the club's management. They must ensure that communication is effective and that any issues are addressed promptly. 9. **Culture and Philosophy**: They play a key role in establishing and maintaining the club's culture and footballing philosophy, ensuring that these values are reflected in all aspects of the team's operations. 10. **Crisis Management**: In times of crisis, such as poor performance or off-field issues, the sporting director must help steer the club through the challenges and implement solutions. Overall, the sporting director's role is to ensure that the football side of the club runs smoothly and effectively, balancing short-term success with long-term sustainability.

  12. Man who doesn’t understand how football finance and resourcing work at small football club with no money continues to show how much he doesn’t know. Repeatedly.
  13. We’ve budgeted for a sporting director anyway and they will be announced in March . So McCabe might work.
  14. The rumour is that Tomi failed his medical with us.
  15. In the summer he literally lost a complete team and had to recruit a new one on a very very limited budget. He has now started to turn that round. He also tries to play decent football. He knows the division and its finances. He’s worth considering.
  16. Sad but had to be done.
  17. There is speculation and therefore it may be rubbish that Andrew Barrowman who left Raith last week is going to be our new sporting director .
