  1. Round three, Bunny. I read somewhere (one of the Sundays, I think) that HMRC has a pretty good record on appeal. When it comes to growing a pair, it's really time for the SPL and SFA to get them swinging. The 2:1 verdict from the tribunal said there were loans in operation - question is, who took them and does anyone outside of a Phili lawyer not think those loans constitute a double payment to players?
  2. In theory, yes. Would it improve matters? Who knows?
  3. Buck stops with the people at the club who put Sporting Solutions in place. They put the company in, they can get the company out.
  4. How much of that is 'can't be bothered', 'can't afford', or 'depends upon volunteers', I wonder. Our Saturdays depend upon a lot of volunteer time.
  5. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/204093-hmrc-to-seek-permission-to-appeal-rangers-tax-tribunal-verdict/ Seconds out ... round three.
  6. After his part in his summer's Rangers fiasco I doubt there's much confidence in Mr Regan. He might as well up and join Jim Traynor at Mr Green's Freakshow and Asylum for Babbling Idiots.
  7. I haven't seen the highlights - I'm not sure I want to go through that frustration again - but a friend says Dargo played Aaron and our lad simply went for it.
  8. Will, you know how this goes - if the players are playing badly then we, the fans, will go after absolutely everything that's wrong/perceived to be wrong with the club. It's been happening since ptfc.net. We drag out the Aunt Sallies and set fire to them.
  9. David, am I right in thinking stewards aren't allowed to interact with fans on forums like this?
  10. Matt, god knows what we'll do with the Bing. There have been suggestions about planting on it and painting it. I think it's up to the people who own it to do something with their nice retirement earner.
  11. I never heard that one! Right now, the former board - of which our present chairman was once part, by the way - seems to be trotted out like Tony Blair's 'eighteen years of Tory rule'. Truth is, none of us is likely to forget the good times and the bad times during their tenure. I think we should be learning lessons from it.
  12. You're right, it's a nonsense and it's a nonsense because the people at the SPL have one aim, and that's to preserve their TV deal. That deal is best served by Old Firm games.
  13. Thing is, Ducky, Disaster's not really in the popularity business, he's in the old maximising profit business. He and his are doing what they think is best - even if that means ignoring their customers. I'd be happy if he vanished somewhere else, but you'd see him replaced by someone with the same calcified thinking. Also, he's got a long way to go in this year's reputation lower than croc p*ss stakes to beat Mr Regan of SFA parish. Apropos the latest SPL brainstorm, Disaster said he was confident that another 12 clubs would sign up. Should Thistle? What do you think? Pros and cons?
  14. Doncaster on Radio Scotland: short on detail; long on using the phrase 'going forward'.
  15. I would hope Thistle would beat Accies at Firhill. I do not share your expectation.
  16. That'll be the Hamilton that's beaten our team twice this season? Anyhoo, I am sad to be missing out on one of the glamour ties of the next round. I also find myself in the strange situation of hoping Dundee Utd humps the living daylights out of a Division Three side.
  17. Penny Daintees aren't as big as they used to be.

    Damp Issue

Always the way, isn't it? Do you have a landlord/factor?
  19. Has anyone found a Spitfire?

  20. That also describes Billy Dodds on duty for BBC Scotland at a *the* Rangers match, Ian.
  21. I think you could go to the bank with that one, Bunny. I'm not sure if this is coming from UEFA or from UEFA with the richest clubs holding a gun to its head. This has echoes of the SPL - we'll split (if it's okay with you, though we don't really care because we have you by the balls) and do our own thing. Money will trickle down. Honest. If this does happen, I anticipate greater enrichment for those taking part; impoverishment for the domestic leagues.
  22. Criteria you could easily apply to Thistle. If there're suddenly two leagues of 16 will great riches rain down? Will the injustice of teams like Montrose and Elgin draining vital support and finances away from poor wee Celtic, Aberdeen and the rest suddenly be put right? A nonsense. Most of these teams deemed deadweight by the people who seem to put your line forward are pretty self sufficient. There are two teams just about dying on their arses - one in the SPL, the other is SFL1. Let the cull begin there.
  23. Second tier will feature only 10 teams. Okay, let me think here, which team is likely to be in that division? Stinker.
  24. The sad thing is, we've ended up in the financial grubber with nothing to show for it over the past eight years.
