  1. I said at the time after we sacked the previous management team we had to get the right guy in. Quite clearly we haven't , we have downgraded not upgraded. Caldwell will find it very difficult to get another job in football management after, as he looks like doing failing at Firhill. The big question and a lot more important as far as I am concerned is what state will my/our club be in.
  2. Agree with you regarding the gentleman who challenged Caldwell at Q& A. Did our chair not promise an update video every month and is this months not well overdue ?
  3. I think most of the support realise having this guy as our manager is a big mistake. More worryingly it is the only people who can sack him who seem to think he is the right one to be our manager.
  4. Yes we need a fit squad. But he was brought in to get better results than our previous management team who were sacked because we would not win promotion under them. Clearly that is now not going to happen. IMO there is only one stat that counts and that is the final result. In that stat Caldwell has failed miserably.
  5. Like yourself, I have ran out of likes. Can we have more likes, please.
  6. I already have doubts about who Caldwell will sign next month. Lose to Morton on Saturday he has to be sacked. Of course we would only be able to do this if his contract has a probationary period. If not we are stuck with him as we couldn't afford to be paying 2 managers who we have sacked this season. We really are a mess at the moment.
  7. No matter how bad we get, I could never support another team.
  8. He said once we won a game more would follow. Since beating Dunfermline we have drawn wit part time Alloa at home after being ahead twice and lost today. For Chesterfield now read Partick Thistle.
  9. Agree. Couldn't be any worse than we are now.
  10. Agree with all of these. The last management team were rightly sacked for getting 9 points out of 8 games. The replacements who were brought in to win us promotion have got 5 points in 9 games. In my book that is not improvement.
  11. I think they have a very competent manager, who will go onto much bigger and better things.
  12. Agree. He reminds me of the pompous prats that are on the Apprentice. In their mind they can do no wrong. Anything that does go wrong, has nothing to do with them and anything that goes right/improves it is all to do with them. We need Alan Sugar to say 'Your fired Gary'.
  13. Probably more last season when we lost nearly30 points after being ahead in games. Just think where we would have been if we managed to hold on in even a third of those games. Has happened a few times this season so far ,but hopefully Caldwell will sort it out.
  14. Hope every Thistle fan making this long trip has a safe journey. Lets hope the team make your effort worth while with a good performance and result.
  15. Trying to pm you Phil. But it says you cannot receive any.

  16. If my old memory serves me right we got him from Cowdenbeath.
  17. Good. In the cold weather I wear a balaclava with a Thistle tammy on top. Best wishes to you and your family over Christmas and the new year.
  18. The balaclava stays on in this weather. You never know some of the players might see somebody with a balaclava in the crowd, remind them of their time with the SAS and they will up their game.
  19. I said at the time if I was wrong about this I would apologise. So sorry Mr Bannigan for doubting your loyalty to the Thistle cause. Just back from having a meal out with the wife but as soon as I can eat it, I shall have a large slice of humble pie. Lets hope it is the start of better things to come at Firhill.
  20. Robert loved being in the North stand. The view was better than the position in the enclosure in front of the old stand we had to go to. And when we scored at that end he enjoyed being right in amongst the Thistle fans/players goal celebration.
  21. Thanks Sandy. You are right about Thistle. Us fans can disagree about things on this forum, but when somebody needs support it is given. The club also did their bit by having a tribute for Robert in the match programme for Ross County game 1/4/17 and the applause in the 31st minute of that game.
  22. Thanks for the kind words. I have had the pleasure of meeting Bowen Boys and his 2 sons , elevenone,Partickthe dog and his daughter, Sinistar and Sb1876 at Firhill. If you are in the JL stand it would be good to meet up with you and have a chat. I always stand behind the goal, just to the right of it at the concourse wall, where the memorial plague for Robert is.
  23. He was a very talented and a modest young man. He would have been surprised at the amount of people who turned up at his funeral and the amount of tributes that was done in his memory after he died. He never let his disability stand in his way of enjoying life. He did a lot to help others and he received campaigner of the year award 2014. There is a 12 page thread on this forum about him and if you google Robert Watson dmd pathfinders a tribute video and article from a local paper about him come up. There is a memorial plague in the JL stand and we have sponsored some players in his memory this season. The money for this was raised by Bowen Boy, who ran a last jag standing competition and there was also a collection at the Ross County game 1/4/17 by Digger. My wife and I are very proud of him and we miss him every day.
