  1. LSR it is because I have seen the effects of relegation has had with us I don't want us to go down.Apart from when we came back up in 1971 it has meant years struggling.I think some on here think if we go down we would come back in 1 season with a young team.I dont have a crystal ball but I don't see that happening. I don't want Archie sacked but I do want to see us playing at the highest level possible.Archie has done a brilliant job but for whatever reason it has not worked this season.I know if we bring in a new manager there is no guarantee we will stay up,but imo we have to do something to turn our season around.I notice some posters are saying we shouldn't sack him,but then say if we haven't won in the next 4/5 games he would walk,so you want rid of him but on the cheap.Imo he wont walk would you? Also if we don't improve what sort of crowds will we have?
  2. Imo if we lose to Dundee Utd Archie should be sacked. After the Aberdeen game we started a run of games where we should be picking up points. If we were to lose on Saturday that would be 4 losses where we are expecting to get points from.We would also be cut adrift at the bottom. If we are to get a new manager in we have to give them a chance of keeping us in the league so the smaller the points gap between us and safety the better.I have supported Thistle for over 50 years so I know being relegated usualy means a number of years in the doldrums for us.I never expected top 6,but I do think we have a squad good enough to keep us in this league. If teams like the Accies,ICT,Killie ect can do it why cant we?
  3. We are now into games where we should be picking up points and put some pressure on the teams above us.We have had runs like this before but we had already picked up points and wins before they started. My hope is that we will start winning and turn this around,my fear is that losing is a very hard habit to get out of and by the time we rediscover how to win we will be cut adrift from the rest of the league.
  4. As has already been said Archie is still looking to sign more payers outside the window.Which means we still have money , why was that not used to get some of the players who turned us down?
  5. We also need to improve our set pieces, I don't remember any that didn't just go into the keepers hands yesterday.
  6. Let me start by saying I don't think that AA should be sacked. But I think we need to win 1 of our next 2 games. I know it wont be easy but if we are still without a win after these 2 games I can see a gap opening up between us and teams we would expect to be competing with.I know Ross County managed to come back last season but i don't see us able to do that.Imo we played well yesterday & that is the way we need to keep playing, but we need to take the chances we get.I know there is still plenty of games to play, but the longer we go without a win the harder it will get.
  7. Does anybody think we will sign any players before the window shuts? I don't think we will,As AA has said we can still sign players when the window closes.
  8. Now we have played who most are calling the top 3 we have a good chance to pick up points. In fact apart from playing Hearts at home at the end of October we dont play any of the top3 until we play Aberdeen away at the end of the year. A big upturn in performance and form required if we want to stay in this league. We proved after Ross county beat us twice in a row last season how our form can change we have to do it again
  9. Would a digital scoreboard with adverts(like St.Mirren only bigger) ,happy birthday wishes etc not look quite good and also bring in some revenue.
  10. Only 1 place to do the talking, where it counts and that is on the pitch.Imo the only experinced players to get pass marks so far this season are Doolan and Cerny time for the rest to start playing as well.
  11. In a post LSR said the player turned down Accies to sign for us.Surley all financial details had been agreed if this is correct ?
  12. As we want to do well in the cups i would be starting tomorrows game with the same team as we would be playing against Aberdeen. This will be a hard game and I don't think we should be experimenting. Also I hope the more times the players get on the park together we can get some rythym going.
  13. As bad as they are we still couldn't beat them at home.
  14. County doing what we should have done last week.Imo the bottom half of the league will be tight and us not taking our chances and bad defending at set pieces will be costly.
  15. In the last couple of programmes the chairman has said we are where we belong and this is where we will stay.
  16. Sevco imo will be back in the top league next season,no matter what we think of them they would bring a above average crowd. So we need to make sure that we are still in this league to benefit from them. The longer we can stay in this league the more fans will see us as a top teir club and not a yoyo club and that might bring some back.
  17. Great to see him back and playing so well.I wonder how many other clubs would have kept a player on for the time we have while he was out injured?Well done to Thistle.
  18. Really mixed emotions leaving Firhill today after the first 35mins we should have been at least 3 up.But after we went down to 10 men thought we would lose.3 games now against teams who we could be competing with.Nothing in it .Lets hope we can pick up some surprise results in the next few weeks.
  19. ian mac RTJ is my son.I am the camera man who sometimes gets our goals for him to post on here.
  20. My son is a wheelchair user. Before we could use the NS we had to use the enclosure. The NS is much better because of the view,we are in with our own fans and when we score at that end we are in amongst the celebrations.
  21. If we were to take 4 or 6pts from these 2 games it would give us something to build on.2pts or less and I feel we are in for a long season that would see us finish in the bottom2.
  22. To keep or improve our squad we need fans turning up.If more turned up last season we might still have the player who could be the match winner playing for us instead of against us.
  23. Reading some posts on this forum some fans seem to want us back down in the championship.I know the Premiership has its faults, but surely we should want to have Thistle playing at the highest level possible? This Saturday we play Kilmarnock at Firhill lets hope the fans that didn't come to the Celtic game come to this one and get behind the team. If our crowds are not better than last season i can see us going down.Lets get behind the team at Firhill and show everybody that we are proud to be Thistle fans and we deserve to be in this league.I hope we get over 4000 on Saturday.
  24. Various answers on here and hard to argue with them. But after one of our best league finishes in years our season ticket sales are much lower than a team like St.Mirren who were relegated. Are we now heading downward after the last 3 good years?
