I thought it was the Rangers fans who set off the flares - in the North Stand. The Celtic fans "merely" ripped up the seats. I really don't think that we should move the Thistle fans from the North Stand. The board were willing to "do the right thing" during the Jackie Mac affair and take a financial hit. We have now got that money( or at least some of it). The board should "do the right thing" here and if the Celtic fans can't be trusted not to burn down the stand, they should be excluded. We have managed without celtic & rangers income for 10 years, surely we can continue to do without it.

I think the point Fred/Northern soul is that there has been no discussion with the fans group, after promising to do so. It also seems to me to be a bit hypocritical to talk about morals during the JMac affair to do an about turn on the North Stand for Thistle fans. If you don't think that not buying a ST is an appropriate way to protest, what do you suggest is.

I am not really one for criticising the club as I can't be bothered with the politics - but 2 things strike me here. If the Celtic fans can't be trusted not to burn down the main stand they should be excluded period.( note that the Argentine FA have banned all travelling fans to all grounds because of crowd trouble) and 2nd is there a moral element to be considered. The Jags fans were promised the North Stand, morally they should not renege on that agreement. Is there some way that we can protest to the club formally ? I am sure there is still time for the club to change their mind.

Grant, I think you need to be a bit more realistic and realise that every player is looking for the best way to further their career. You can't blame him for trying to find somewhere he has the best chance of being first choice. I don't think he will be at Thistle. Almost everyone here is talking about him being back up and for someone who was captain of a club a couple of months ago must be tough

I would imagine that we are looking elsewhere at the same time in case he doesn't accept the offer.

I think Hartley is more experienced and has had 2 promotions in a row ? Murray has had 6 months and managed to keep Dumbarton up. Hartley, also was probably likely to get our job if Archie hadn't done so well as interim manager

I think quite a lot of Dunfermline players followed the money and when they went belly up, some of those guys found themselves out of a job. The players need to think a bit more long term. I am not saying that Thistle are a better prospect than St M( as I don't know), just that there is more to it now than just what is being offered

What is the definition of established ? St Mirren are in the relegation fight every season and more often than not it comes down to the last game or 2 for them.
