  1. Paton has not signed for DU. He has plenty of offers and intrest from them, rangers and down south. Nothing has been signed yet. Although he is proud to be a jag he has a daughter and as this is a very short career and one injury can ruin your career he has got to look out for her and the finances. If he gives 100% when under contract then you can't fault him. Unfortunately there is no loyalty in football anymore.
  2. I wouldn't say when the ball is passed the Malaga player is in line but I agree it is a hard one to judge. Obviously I'm sitting here with the option of replays and slowing it down. I feel he got it wrong but that's my opinion withn the benefit of replays.
  3. If you watch the replay again the linesman is clearly up with the play or giving the benefit of doubt half a yard behind. The basics of his job is to see offside and if he can't see it's off side when up with play then he shouldn't be a linesman at any level let alone that level. http://youtu.be/BKeL6GvNuBw For the last Dortmund goal yes the Malaga player is on the line however the dortmund player is infront of the keeper. therefore is offside because to be onside requires two defenders to be Infront of the attacker and usually the keeper is classed as a defender. So Just because they went to a defensive set up they weren't robbed and deserved to be out due to poor officiating? Of course Dortmund were gonna throw everyone forward and it's only natural to play deep. They weren't that deep if in two stages of play in the lead up to the goal and scoring the goal they manages to play the Dortmund players offside however an inept Scottish official missed it. Of course there has been other poor decisions made by officials from other countries in the champions league and Europa that's natural however my original point was Scottish refs/linesman and used the Dortmund game to highlight it. I'm sure we all have stories of poor officiating from other countries.
  4. After watching the Dortmund v Malaga game last night and again being embarrased by the standard of Scottish refs and linesmen. Even afterwards on sky they began discussing how the Scottish officials didn't cover themselves in glory. On the biggest stage in football and can't get basic decisions right. First of all the linesman allows the Malaga goal at 2-1 to stand when the ball is played thru and the Malaga attacker is a clear half yard offisde and replays show the linesman for once is up with play but still manages to get it wrong. Then as Dortmund are searching for a winner a ball is played into the box and at least three players are offside. The official misses it again and then as the ball is bundled onto the line the player who taps it in is again offside. Missing two massive offsides that lead to the goal is unacceptable. For Malaga to be robbed of getting into the semi finals in the biggest club competition in the world because of officials who aren't good enough is rediculous. You seen on Sunday that the qots keeper was allowed to dictate the pens because the ref never had the bottle to send him off. Week in week out we see bad decisions and there are now beginning to cost teams games and also the chance of a champs league semi final. What other job would you be allowed to constantly make mistakes and still get paid and not even disciplined? Oh sometimes they get moved a division to ref there next game, but they still get paid the same money and next week there back in the premier league. They had a strike a couple of years ago and since then it's as if they are untouchable. Things surely need to change.
  5. This is still early days and would need another 5 or 6 to fill the other seats for it to be cost efficient. i will keep u in mind and if there is more intrest your in.
  6. No problem. If a can get something sorted cheaper then i will keep u in mind.
  7. Les....I'm thinkin of bookin a mini bus cost is goin to b about £20 pp depending on how full it is. If ur intrested let me no
  8. Myself and 5 mates are making the trip to livingston and were planniing on gettin the train however the discussion of ordering a minibus came up. I have been quoted a reasonable price for a 14 seater which includes a driver. I am just seeing if there is enough interest from people who still havent got travel arrangements in place. The pick up would be glasgow city centre and then getting dropped back off in the city centre. If anyone is intrested in booking a seat pm or reply on this and I will progress it. It will be roughly £20 pp but this is still to be confirmed.
  9. I read this post last night and couldnt be bothered replying to such a rediculous post. A hard fought mid week victory against a team who came to hope for a 0-0 should be congratulated. Yes it wasnt pretty at times and its certainly not the best that we have played this season but I would take a 1-0 victory every time. To then pick on a player who has been without doubt the most consistent of all season and also our captain is mind blowing! I actually thought his long passing was pretty decent last night. Yes hes not going to get every one spot on but neither does Becks! Paton is the one player who you can rely on to knuckle down and give everything for the team and idiots like you come on and post a topic like this which is disrespectful and insulting! Get a grip mate and get behind the team!
  10. Thought we were comfortable throughtout maybe apart from the last 10 mins when as you do with a one goal lead start to get a bit nervous. Paton and Bannigan were the ones that stood out today aswell as Erskine and Forbes. Welsh done a decent job covering at RB and until O'Donnell is back id be happy with him filling in there. Felt that Craigan had an okay first half but was totally anonymous second half and should have been subbed earlier but as we were in total control it wasnt that big a deal. Balatoni was at fault for the first goal but more than made up for it with his finish from a great delivery. They were a really poor side and we should have won by more than the one goal but we just werent gettin that bit of luck. Long ball team which was depressing to watch so hopefully with that fresh in the mind we can go next week and the proper football team can win!! Oh and the ref was sh*te! Based on performances like that no wonder they get abuse. Terrible decisions for both teams! Its as if they plucked a random from the crowd before hand to ref the game...
  11. On seeing the challenge on Lawless at the game on Saturday I felt that it was 50:50 and the ref made the right call. We always moan about the ref breaking up the game and wanting to be the centre of attention so I feel this was one of his only good decision of the game. On viewing the replay I still feel its 50:50 and if it was Fox making the challenge we would be congratulating him for clearing the danger with a bouncing ball and a forward running straight at him. Its totally unfortunate that Lawless has come away with the injury that could keep him out for a period of time but not every injury is a result of someone intentionally going out the way their way to cause it. I was also screaming for a foul on Erskine on the build up to the first goal but it appears the player did win the ball but also took a bit of Erskine. Again if it was the other way we would have been annoyed that play wasnt allowed to go on. I was baffled by some of the referee decisions but i think the two above he got right but what annoys me is the lack of consitency that refs show when he stops play for a foul when theres two players putting there shoulders together to try win the ball.
  12. McCourt could fill Stevies place but theres no way he would last the full 90 mins doubtful he could last 60 mins. And to the people that think Forbes doesnt put in enough effort or track back they will have a heart attack watching McCourt play!!
  13. positive mental attitude. 4-1 f/t (i hope )
  14. from the live updates appears that Scully is having a great game. Hope it continues and earns a clean sheet. Fingers crossed
  15. woo hoo! mon the jags! lets get an away here!
  16. Erskine tried to do this at the start of the second half................didnt work, lost the ball after 1.5 secs. Maybe next time
  17. First half...... the less said the better. Could and maybe should have went in 1-0 down when Roberts hit the post but two very poor teams. Second half... total transformation and got a good early goal. May go down as an own goal and a wee bit of luck on rowsons part but thats what we have been missing this season. The second was a good solid strike on the volley from cairney from outside the area and that goal killed Ayr off. Erskine scored the 3rd after good build up play and a good finish with his right foot. 4th was a penalty and from where I was sitting I would say a soft one but a good finish from Doolan who was poor the whole game. Pass marks for everyone especially in the second half the only one to dissapoint if I was honest was Doolan who didnt look at the races the whole game. Ref didnt get pass marks but whats new. Turned down a thistle shout for a penalty that looked a good shout and then gave one which appeared soft. Booked Cairney for a challenge where he one the ball and was his first foul of the game. Only booked the Ayr player when it was a clear flying elbow to Doolans head and the ref had a clear view. Cairney MOM whih was probably right however before hand I was saying it was between him and Hutton whole looked a class above the rest. Sinclair also had a good number of runs and had both the Ayr right mid and right back in his back pocket. Two injuiries to Archibald and what looked a serious one to Robertson who was stretched off in the first half so will have to wait and see. The second half performance has made my night and it is one of the best performances i have seen from Thistle in a while so I am now going to think back and enjoy a few beers!! Plus roberts recieved an excellent reception when subbed so good effort lads!!
  18. 2-2 erskine. Get in there! seems him coming on changed the game.
  19. At no point am I starting this thread to call from Jackies head or start relegation worries. Lost the last 4 games and I know two were down to late contentious penalties but when you look at the league table or the results all you will see is that we got no points and we are out two cups. All the talk pre season about how everyone is having to cut their budget and we have put through some young players looked so promising but now it seems that every other team is one step ahead. I feel the players need to take a long look at themselves and its only them that can sort this out. So as the title says........ where do we go from here?
  20. Left my seat 2 mins before the halftime whistle and stood in the vomitry till the whistle. I joined the queue for a nice pie and coke and was about 10 ppl in front of me. Got to the front to be told there were no scotch pies left and asked if she was joking which didnt go down well. So payed a bit extra for a steak pie that was burnt to a crisp. Also when I left with my burnt pie and "coke" realised she had given me fanta. F*****g joke! It now seems a bit trivial now since we lost to a ridiculous penalty decision but what football stadium has no scotch pies at half time!!
