You are potenitally looking at a death spiral for Scottish football with this decision (well the SPL anyway). No punishment then a lot of fans will not bother going back (prob fewer than are saying they will but there will be a decent %) , then you will have fans boycotting games involving any newco Rangers. You have the h*ns boycotting everyone and everything that isnt one of the peepul, then you will have the other arse cheek joining in as theydont want to be out done by the other side. Massive decision for the SPL , I think they will fudge it and put conditions about accepting the EBT case findings (which has the potential for them to be kicked out football all together) in return for no other SPL sanctions. Then up step the SFA to boot them in the sack while they are all jumping around celebrating by confirming the year long signing ban and fine (and maybe adding more on for good measure).

If they restart in the 3rd surely the "we dont do walking away" supporters will be continuing to pay their season tickets and they can use the excess cash that wont be spent on overpriced diddies (they will be buying normal priced ones ) to repay their debts ... never gonna happen but its a simple way out of this.

My only fear is that there is a comeback of Lazarus proportions that means they dont actually get into liquidation Its actually a very clever punishment from the SFA. If Rangers move into "newco" and want to stay in the SPL they are ****** over, if they take the hit that they should after being liquidated then they reapply for a new licence in the SFL and start again from division 3 without any penalties. The way I see it is that this is the SFA forcing the SPLs hand to not allow any "newco" straight entry into the SPL as if nothing happened.

Whoever came up with this needs a big round of applause from everyone. The first time I can remember the club being proactive about getting people to buy season tickets. Hell if i can get my m8 to take one this year we can save £26 each off the cost (splitting the 20% for the maths challenged ). Very good deal.

Heard this from a Hibbee m8 the other day , dunno if its true. Would be a big loss if he does move but a great move for him.

Aye his contract is up in the summer according to the Hibbees I work with.

To me it comes down to a few of things - Get prior SPL approval before we put the pitch down - Arrange a long term deal with the council to use the pitch in the afternoons for local schools - Investigate grants as pitch will be a community asset - "open nights" on the pitch where local kids can come along and get some training from the club , you never know we may find a player for the youth teams I think the main blocker is SPL approval and the potential possibility of changes the league structure if Rangers were to go bust, or if the other 10 SPL clubs have the balls to puch through other changes.
