  1. he has been a victim of his own success this season. the last few games he has been the first person to get an elbow or a knee in the back. players have surrounded him as soon as he got the ball, and this is why bannigan and cragein have had so much time on the ball and turned into such important players. at the start of the season no one knew how to take erskine, and its only since they have tried to stop him play have others became more important. When he's been marked out, its left so much room for elliot to come on, and the others to fill the gaps. erskines play in the first 2/3rds of the season got us to where we are, however its been our squad thats got us over the final hurdle.
  2. Really stepped up to the plate in the last 10/15 games
  3. It may be a bit naff.... but it totally worked. Best Atmosphere at a thistle game for years. If we can generate that atmosphere for the rest of the season i think we'll agree to disagree about the mic'd up singing while toasting the first division title. Lets not be too harsh on it before we've been able to assess its potential impact. I sang more today than i have for ages and i think the crowd noise had a lot to do with that
  4. I was the mascot twice, first game was thistle v dundee at home. jim duffy captain for thistle and gordon chisolm captain for dundee. Thistle won 2-0. george shaw scored one of them i think. My dad bought me it as it was only £10 more than buying a strip and you got a free strip when you were the mascot. 2nd time was more distinctive, junior jags competition winner. Mascot v rangers at firhill got beat 3-1, rod mcdonald sent off for crossing himself. Gazza was a total gent and didnt ignore me like all the other players
  5. there isn't any large venues in central scotland other than a couple of football stadiums. in glasgow we have too many purpose built large concert venues making any event at firhill would be more hassle than its worth. and probably more expensive to put on
  6. billy macdonald, that ginger guy that played for ayr, micky weir, nacho novo, lee bowyer, lee hughes, tom boyd, john brown, alex mcdonald, nigel de jong.
  7. what do you call a fat computer? adele
  8. I would say you probably have to leave out Hardgreaves due to being horribly unlucky with injuries and not really his fault. When he was fit, similar to Kieran Dyer, he was still quite a useful player. Thomas Brolin on the other hand is a self imposed haggis supper guzzler, so more than happy to include him. Michael Ricketts moved to Middlesborough for mega bucks at the time, then cows arse and banjo come to him.
  9. watching the arsenal game and arshavin looks like a different player to the playmaker that won the UEFA cup and was a wizard for Zenit... leads to the question, can you think of other players that somehow turned rotten overnight? I'll kick it off with Francis Jeffers... sensational for everton and then went years without scoring
  10. That was actually poorly researched on my part. According to Wikipedia, its Fram Reykjavik and not rangers who will be lighting up europe with Steven Lennon's masterly skill
  11. I don't buy the whole thing give youth a chance thing. We'd get pumped every week. You hear these old form fans going on about it on phone in's. Yip, play steven lennon up front and he'll fire you into europe.
  12. i thought gibson looked like a really good player for them at the weekend, glad to see him go. crawley are an exciting team so he should do well
  13. thats mental. clearest red card you'll ever see
  14. cool, any idea of who were gonna pick up? paton? hardie?
  15. so we needed 100k to stay out of trouble... we got a 50k sponsorship deal According to a mate of mine at the club Liam was on 60k a year, so say thats us saved 30k we budgeted paying him. That leaves 20k... did they pay anything for him or did they just let him go to get him off the wage bill? also how much money do we roughly make from st johnstone in the cup?
  16. ASTROMUD!!! rest in peace
  17. No foresight for the credit crunch? i live in a house with 3 former full time workers that have all been made redundant over the last 6 months. **** off
  18. Do Schalke not have like a ridiculous amount of debt with some of their high profile signings on mental wages?
  19. Who would he renegotiated his salary with?? do we even have a chairman or any board members?
  20. Brian Kerr, Mickael Antoine-Curier, Eric Paton, Dominic Shimmin, Njazi Kuqi, Paul McHale, Scott Fox, Colin McMenamin and Charlie Grant are the players who have had their contracts terminated. We really dont have the budget to sign any of them... if we did, who would be worth a punt signing.... failing that... where do you think they will go...
  21. tip for everyone. if you transfer out your captain, then the player you transfer in becomes captain without using any of your captain changes, just a single transfer. its a good way to rack up points.
