  1. How you doing? Bought a load of gear from you in the past. Great stuff, split new, real good value for money. Just wondering if you are going to get any more Jags kit in again in the near future?
  2. To say that I was far from impressed when Gary Caldwell was appointed, would be an understatement. His period in charge up to Christmas was (as far as results went) truly terrible. I was feeling so negative about the manager, club etc that I decided to stop posting, as I was only ever making negative contributions. How do I feel now? I feel that Gary Caldwell and the team deserve great credit for getting us out of the tailspin we were in before Christmas. Yes, we may well be bottom of the league, but the form of Falkirk and Alloa has also vastly improved. I honestly thought that we would be stranded at the bottom by now. Will we go down? I really don't know, which for me is an improvement, because a few months ago I would have said we were certainties for bottom spot. We all need to bury the hatchet and pull together for the next few games.
  3. Excellent result, well done to Gary Caldwell, the team and all the supporters that made the effort to go to the game. I Don't know what we played like, but then again it doesn't really matter, 3 points is what matters
  4. Gary Caldwell was appointed manager when we were in no real danger of relegation. He was brought in to win us promotion and subsequently led us to bottom place. Much as it was a good win yesterday, it was also widely classed as a "must win" and that dire situation was of Caldwell's own making. Will we keep this improved form up and continue climb the table? Or is this as good as it gets? We shall just have to wait and see. Tell you something for nothing though, if Caldwell manages to steer us clear of relegation I wont be hanging out the bunting and hailing it as a marvelous success. Why would anyone be full of praise for someone that's only just about managed to clear up there own mess? Some folk are easily impressed.
  5. I think we are going to win today, don't know why, I just have a good feeling about it.
  6. And you're the moderator? Beam me up Scotty!
  7. There is no reason that this could not be done. A deal like this would make sense for both parties. The Weirs would be protecting their interests through owning the facility and Thistle would be the beneficiaries through a peppercorn rent.
  8. Thanks for the memories Brice. Wishing you all the very best of luck in your further footballing adventures, as you go off in search of pastures new
  9. Sounds like one of Theresa May's lines.
  10. Thanks Jordanhill Jag. I was wondering if Javeajag was on talking terms with Colin Weir or someone close to the deal, as he seems pretty confident that it will be delivered.
  11. The shareholders of the club are probably fans or have historical ties and loyalties to the club. I can't honestly see anyone getting involved in the ownership of Thistle with the realistic aim to make money out of it* *Unless they're asset strippers looking to sell off Firhill for development.
  12. Are you familiar with any of the "black cats"?
  13. I always mistake you for Vera McKechnie . Contemplating her wetting her knickers whilst clapping her hands doesn't seen quite right
  14. At his age and condition, we will be very lucky to move him on. Think we may well be his last club as a professional footballer. He's no Paul Gallagher.
  15. Yeah, Brice got the sponsors man of the match. I thought he looked very rusty, was very slow, late in his challenges and was lucky not to get sent off. Apart from these minor details, he really did have an outstanding debut. Let's hope that Roy Race just needs a little more time to settle in.
  16. They're both legends in our book Barney and that's what matters to us.
  17. I honestly hope I am wrong and it all turns out well. I never expected to win promotion this season, as long as we don't go down that's the main thing.
  18. Thanks Jordanhill Jag. Agree with what you're saying regarding the training ground.
  19. That's right, it's much more pedantic, than sarcastic
  20. It's not that I forgive Gary Caldwell. It's because I have always thought that Gary Caldwell was a terrible appointment - Who's Next I never expected anything from him in the first place, Gary Caldwell is the master of disaster. I am not at all surprised that we're bottom of the league. However, I truly believe that Gary is giving the job his best shot, what more can I expect or ask for? It would be wrong to blame someone, or pretend to be disappointed or let down, when I had no faith in that person to begin with. I blame the board on these counts; (1) They sacked our long term manager, whilst still under contract and in no real danger of relegation. (2) They didn't bother lining up a suitable replacement before sacking our long term manager. (3) They didn't actively seek out replacements and were more than happy to put the job out to all comers. (4) They were delighted with the standard and number of applicants, but nevertheless, gave a 2 year contract to Gary Caldwell, whose managerial record was questionable, to say the least. It's the same with ropey players, as long as they are tying their best it's not really their fault. If they're the best players you can get, so be it. If, on the other hand if better players were available within budget, it's then the managers/clubs fault for not getting them. You can only give what you've got, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. So perhaps you're right Allyo, perhaps I should forgive the board also, and just accept that they're doing their rank rotten best, or condemn them and everyone else in equal measure. Logic and Thistle, don't keep close company
