  1. I'm not sure if we are using the furlough scheme, but if we release the players now then we would need to pay full salaries upto the end of the contract. If we keep them until the end, the government will pay a proportion of the wages
  2. You would assume top 6 from league one. What other options is there ?
  3. Or in 3 years time we might be in the Champions League final
  4. The other teams in the Premier League want to play the Old Firm 4 times
  5. Premier league money was not distributed as the league was not terminated. That was just the lower leagues. Still double standards
  6. To be fair, average point is what they used for our league. The difference is that no teams changed places as a result.
  7. Rather than getting rid of teams from the bottom, why not get rid of some from the top. I can think of 2 for starters.
  8. It may be a great idea for the benefit of Scottish football, but no way on earth that the current SPFL member clubs would ever vote for this I think that we would need 28 clubs to resign from SPFL and set up a new organisation, similar to when the original SPL was set up many years ago.
  9. But there would need to be a way for all clubs to make money (or at least not make a loss) when staging a closed doors match. Would it be viable for QotS, Alloa or Arbroath to set up a streaming service ? How many would really pay to watch Thistle v Morton if there was an English or Scottish top flight game on at the same time (presumably those with season tickets would get the streaming of closed door games included).
  10. And how many would be willing to pay for live steaming of Annan v Elgin ? It would cost more to put on the game than it would make in revenue. Leave aside the social distancing issues, i just can't see how closed door games is viable for anything other than top flight clubs
  11. I can see how it works in Bunesliga where TV companies will be offering deals to screen every match, but how does it work in the Scottish Championship (or League One) ? With no money coming through the turnstile, where does the revenue to put on the match come from ?
  12. Looking at the provisional League One table for next season and we will be 9th, just ahead of Peterhead on alphabetical order. I wonder how we would vote in 12 months time if the entire season is a washout ?
  13. Last I heard he had a backroom job at Sunderland. No idea if he's still there
  14. Whether or not they get the reconstruction of the leagues through, I think there should be a separate review and agreement on what to do in future if they league season can't be completed for any reason. Rather than retrospectively changing the rules, have it cast in stone now.
  15. Not being personal to yourself, but more a general comment. Why is it that when posters lose the argument they have to start childish name calling ? Go on. Convince me that there would be long term benefit To PTFC in spending hard earned cash, possibly costing staff their jobs, going down a legal route and I will call myself a Dick
  16. I have heard that there are some who prefer to wear silk negligees
  17. This is something that I had been thinking about. By calling the season now, any clubs hitting financial difficulties would have any points penalties applied to next season, so that wouldn't help our current plight. Now there could be clubs who might go under completely (a la Rangers) however I don't know who would be likely to pull the trigger. Traditionally it would have been HMRC, but I can't see the government doing that under the current circumstances.
  18. So, just to get this straight .... You want to risk the long term future of the club for your own short term gratification. Good plan
  19. Not when Ann Budge is coming up with the plan. Her only objective is to see Hearts avoid relegation.
  20. But it will need a vote, which will be another chance for the SPFL to **** it up. They do have previous
  21. And if you look at how little money the current squabble is over (Forfar were talking about around £3K) that is going to impact on how some clubs vote. Win The Championship and you now get 0.14% less than the club who came 3rd this year. And that is before the League One clubs think about the loss from losing their biggest travelling support. I'm not sure that the finances are as clear cut as you think
