  1. I don't see much chance of a game at blyth, their preseason is filling up pretty quick, unlike ours. Most of their availablity is when the irn Bru fixtures start. Tuesday July 4 – Newcastle Benfield (H) Saturday July 8 – West Auckland Town (A) Tuesday July 11 – Shildon (A) Saturday July 15 – Carlisle United (H) Tuesday July 25 – Morpeth (H) Tuesday August 1 – Whitby Town (H)
  2. Who would you like to see us play pre-season, and where would you like to see us travel? For selfish reasons I would like to see us play Blyth Spartans again. I have seen them play several times this season, and both the fans and board appreciate the times we have played at Blyth. I also know they are looking for opponents for a testimonial for Robbie Dale who has been at the club since 2005. If this could all be put in place to coincide with the beer festival that ran at the start of their pre-season, I am sure both sets of fans could have a wonderful day out. ( and I would only have to travel 12 miles to a match)
  3. Now that wiziwig has gone does anyone have a link for tonight's game, preffereably one that will work on an ipad
  4. Has anyone else experienced problems with their away top this season. I don't mean having the pish ripped out you cause it is pink. The issue I have had is that the badges are peeling off. In particular, on my daughters, first the sponsors logo peeled off, closely followed by the pink Breast Cancer Awareness logo, on mine, the sponsors logo started to peel after the first use. I did, unfairly, question my daughter as to whether she was assisting its removal, however she said that she hadn't. The main issue I have is that these 2 tops are not often worn. I personally have worn mine only 2 or 3 times, as regrettably I have not been able to make the trek to Firhill as often as I have wanted this season, and my daughter has only worn her top an additional couple of occasions when she has been at football training. Has anyone had the experience of dealing with this issue and the company?
  5. I suppose it explains why it is not on tv. SFA don't want fans staying away to watch on TV , just because they are spineless enough to offer the game to be staged at the home of a team they accused of "cheating".

    Scotland Game

Which channel is it going to be on?
  7. I was back at Blyth yesterday, and seen them lose 4 goals in the second half to get beaten by Cowdenbeath 4-1. Stranraer next week. After the match I was again talking to the Vice-chair of the club and I brought up the issue of the pitch. Having stood in the terracing along the touchline during the game the pitch looked really good. Apparently when we played there it was the responsibility of the local council to maintain the pitch, and was not particularly high on their list of jobs to do well. This has now changed and the club employ 1 person with the responsibility for maintaining the pitch and he takes pride in his work, which was apparent in the patterns on the cut grass.
  8. I remember there were some issues with the pitch before. From where I was standing, behind the goal on the terracing the pitch looked in good condition, however I was not in a position to tell if there was anything on the pitch that could be dangerous. It would be great if we could have a friendly in future to tie in with their beer festival. I believe it would benefit from us being there. Apparently, according to one guy I spoke to, there are a couple of Blyth fans in Spain, and since it is close by they will be going to our friendlies.
  9. Woke up this morning and decided I wanted to go to a football match. Due to the fact I live in Newcastle, I decided to go to see Blyth Spartans v Whitley bay. This had nothing to do with the fact they had a beer festival on. I reckon thistle should come back to the north east of England and play at the 2nd Blyth Spartans annual beer festival. Lots of Blyth fans recognised my top and were asking after us. And no I did not see Christie Elliot, but Newcastle United's new signing Perez was there.
  10. betterment of scottish football means the dissolution of the SPL, when have they done anything right?
  11. This just seems a shoe-in for Newco. How far will they go? how many teams will be made to play off so they can get what they want? #ntotonewco #meetthespartans

Newcastle united 2 - wba 3 Nice to see Dorrans play again, even if he was a sub. Wba good for the win and Newcastle lucky to manage 2 goals. Looked as though they were trying to pass it in to the net. Now who does that remind me of?

  15. There has been a documentary on the BBC about it recently. I knew about it, but never knew it was so bad, maybe I just thought Clydebank was an absolute pit.
  16. Anyone see this? I never knew it was so bad. My gran told me it was the polish navy who paniced and lit up the sky for the pathfinders. Maybe she was wrong.

  21. England are replacing the 3 Lions on their shirts with 3 Tampons to represent their worst period ever. FLASH FLOODING IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND This is due to the whole of Scotland P'ing themselves laughing! England should have gone with Derek Bird instead of Emile Heskie as he had more shots on target in 4 hours than Heskie has had all Season
  22. I am really p'ed off. I send my £2 a month to feed a starving African child and all he does is go and blow it on an F'ing trumpet!!! As for these things being part of African culture, was it not the Aztecs or Myans who used to kick a dead mans head around as a crude form of football. Going by Sepp Bladdered's argument then that should be acceptable too.
  23. Looking forward to Annan, its my most local Scottish ground.
