  1. I'm not sure I understand all this . Apart from the fact that Fleetwood Town are in Scotland so it would be a bit silly heading to Fleetwood to play a team that's not there, why could we not afford to play another team in the NW of England?
  2. Correct. If you read Tom's post it'll be better till we get confirmation before booking or arranging anything.
  3. That's Dave the Ukranian Started his first game up at Recs, Alloa (the coldest I think I've ever been at a game). A few minutes into the game he rugby tackled an Alloa player and got booked. Don't think he appeared in the second half. Arguably the worst player ever to kick a ball for us (if he ever got round to even doing that)
  4. Since the team are training down in Teeside is there any chance there'll be another friendly in the region?
  5. Yip, even the Junior clubs with the ultras sections.
  6. The pitches the youth players play on at either Stirling Uni or beside Forthbank are both synthetic. I'd imagine no one would want to play on a plastic surface at that time of year. Can't recall if the Uni has grass pitches as well.
  7. Can't really see the Club getting much in the way of extra cash. It'll be a "home" game and season ticket holders don't get charged. Wouldn't be surprised if it's held behind closed doors somewhere or maybe down on Glasgow Green.
  8. Balatoni is I think an example of what Jackie is meaning about Lindsay. It's all very well saying Balatoni wasn't signed to play as a first choice defender but Hearts wouldn't have loaned him out if they weren't confident he'd get a fair amount of first team experience. I don't think McNamara would sign a young relatively inexperienced player to play in a position where even if he was struggling he couldn't be replaced. At the same time Jackie can only sign players that he thinks can quickly step into the first team. That's where I think Lindsay is as was Balatoni last season. It wouldn't be an unusual occurrence if Boyle doesn't sign with another club till the eleventh hour. In that case I would expect McNamara would have a loanee left-sided player (like Conroy a couple of seasons ago) that he could bring in. I'd like Boyle to stay but I hope it doesn't go to all that last minute nonsense.
  9. I thought you said you ran into a problem with the Blyth officials, Tom .
  10. Well I suppose Irn Bru did originate from that area.
  11. Thanks for the info I note the "Partick Thistle provides the opposition on Saturday 9th July. Supporters are advised this game may be behind closed doors." I'm guessing that's because the Firhill pitch may not be ready that early in July and we'll then be looking for another venue.
  12. It's fairly obvious we're needing left side cover for Archie as well as a left back to replace Boyle. In fact we also need cover for the left back position. Fairly sure there's none of our youth players anywhere near ready for a squad placing in either of those positions. Unless our finances are even worse than the dire state I think they're in I would hope they'll be a further left sided signing. JMcN says that Lindsay will be expected to make an immediate push for the first team. If he didn't have signing another left sided player in mind I think he wouldn't have phrased it that way.
  13. No need to apologise. I was just making it up anyway . In truth I hadn't heard of the lad up until about an hour or so ago.
  14. He detests being called Johnny. Please call him Jonathan
  15. Maybe he turned up Might be a case of "one for the future". Looks like the lad is still eligible for the under 19s.
  16. Oh well, how about Clifton James then? edited to add the M.E. one of course
  17. Ideal signing for those that don't like their forwards to score goals.
  18. If I mind right there was another chant from our end that day as well. Rackin' what's left of my brains to remember what it was. Almost as funny as above Ah, yes!..... "Natural Blonde, you're havin' a laugh"
  19. A jousting tent I'd like that tho' not as much as a giant beech hedge.
  20. There's only two negatives that come to mind about Ayr Utd.They overcharge at the gate for a midden of a ground, Just as it's a good day out and the novelty of standing in an older type stadium makes for good atmosphere it shouldn't mean you've got to pay extra for the privilege. Just checked their website and they charged £15 for Div 2. Even if that's updated for Div 1 it's way too much for the lack of facilities. The other downside is the disproportionate amount of wee neds that hing about Somerset Pk. You can laugh at them if you're with two or three other Jags fans but that lowlife have a habit of preying on young kids or elderly fans. Stoning buses is another regular pastime. That said I'm glad Ayr are back up but it's not all a bed of roses with that lot.
  21. That's an impressive signing. Coupled with adding McMenamin to their squad County must be expecting a much improved season. Hopefully Adams will feck it up.
  22. I'm not that old to remember the Motherwell get outta jail card in the mid fifties but the second time it was used was due to them having a healthy away support. So they (SFL at that time) just re-organised the top division accordingly. Things have changed since then and Motherwell are probably expendable these days. That's certainly not the case with Aberdeen. No way would they be allowed to be relegated.
  23. One minute they're complaining about not enough coppers at the game....
