  1. If mcpherson gets anywhere near the thistle managers job, I would not attend a single game, no matter the results or style of football. I think he is a short termist with terrible coaching/people skills. A bully and horribly ignorant to those around him. If anyone thinks he did a good job at st mirren, do a bit of research. Look at his backroom staff, cause i think the only time Gus was any good was when he was giving it media cuddles. A horrible excuse for a human being IMO.
  2. Is it not part of the "fan mandate" that they hold 2 such meetings a year? do they get away with this by saying that the Trust's meet the manager night, fall under this?
  3. Thanks, really well worded and informative post, Honved.
  4. It's called a discussion. At least someone is discussing it, the subject has had 462 views, only a few folk have contributed an opinion or asked a question. That to me suggests very few people actually think the Club is wrong. Infact not one person has come out and voiced an opinion against it. Do you have an opinion?
  5. and yet... But it's ok for the Trust Chair to infer it?
  6. and yet: http://www.thistle123.com/thistledefault.html http://www.thistle123.com/alfa32A.html http://www.thistle123.com/alfan4.html http://www.thistle123.com/alfan3.html http://www.thistle123.com/alfan2.html http://www.thistle123.com/alfa29.html http://www.thistle123.com/alfa28.html
  7. David, I don't see any reasons given, that would have prevented the trust from contacting the Club to advise them how they might carry on keiron's work.
  8. Thanks David, it was perfectly clear, that's why I said, if Morag chose to not continue Keiron's work, who would. As I asked, can you clarify, in the weeks after Keiron's resignation, and more specifically, in the 7 weeks since Morag took up the post, what roles she has agreed to take on? I take it, since you say, you will be looking to discuss with the Club, that in the 3 months since Keiron's resignation, the Trust have not communicated in any way with the Club regarding carrying on Keiron's work? Maybe under the cicumstances the Trust should be pro-active? Can you clarify what you mean by much of the work requires the Club co-operation and use of the facilities. It's just, looking on the Community website, very little is actually specifically centred around Firhill and more to do with getting the Trust, and therefore the Partick Thistle name out into community projects, local schools etc. These are the projects listed: * A League for All * A League for Life * The Govanhill Project * The Firhill Project * The Handyperson Project * The Useful Person Project * Respect Me - Anti Bullying Project * Community Coaching Courses * Firhill Music Project * Welcoming Project * Health Awareness project * Firhill Learning Centre * Partner Schools * Professional Development and Training * Fitness For All * Healthy Living Can you clarify which one's have been most effected by, what you might describe as a lack of enthusiasm from the Club? Incidentally, I don't see any news items on the Main site, can you confirm if the Trust were present at the events publicised on the Community Site. For example, a league for all, in May. A league for life in June
  9. Yes, that was the agreement made and accepted at the time of Save The Jags. Therefore it still stands. At the time of 1876/CF... Did the Trust push for this factor to be removed? I think the last thing on their mind is to pick a fight with a two bob outfit that make them look like professionals! I'm sure they are thinking of a lot more important things to deal with, like a lack of money and a team that the fans are deserting because they are dire to watch! Maybe the Trust can clarify what communications have been made to the Club after keiron's resignation? Can they clarify what was discussed in the time up to Morag's appointment, and what has been discussed since, both as the Trust Board and with the Club? Would it be fair to suggest there is a level of expectation from the Trust members and it's board that there should always be a Rep? Why should there?
  10. I'm sorry David, but I would suggest this comment is not accurate and sow's seeds in readers minds that should community work fall by the side, The Club are at fault. They were financially difficult times when Keiron was the Rep, and he seemed to get a fantastic amount of community work done, in partnership with the Club. It almost seems like you are blaming the Club for any lack of community work by the new Rep. This of course is assuming that the new Rep will take up Keiron's work. If she has chosen not to, I would be very disappointed that no one else in the Trust was willing to do so, but not surprised. Keiron resigned 3 months ago! What actions have been taken in those 3 months? are The Trust in contact with the various community projects? Has any community work taken place in these 3 months? Was there not going to be a link up with queens Park for community coaching in the Sothside, has anything progressed with this? So as far as you are aware, what is the reason that the Rep has not been invited to the last 2 board meetings? In the 6 or 7 weeks since Morag has taken up the position, what has she targeted? What has she proactively done? The problem being, there are no Trust minutes available to view since March. April's is the 2009 minutes! Thanks,
  11. what's your understanding? Incidentaly, I didn't say I thought it had anything to do with it. And as I asked earlier what has morag done to carry on keirons work?
  12. I would imagine it has a lot to do with the 20 odd threads that have populated both this forum and the harry wraggs forum, slamming the trust for being hopeless. Yes you can say, the club board is as bad. But when the club board lost a valuable member like keiron, I think they have every right to hope for a similar standard of replacement. Maybe the trust can clarify to what efforts morag has gone to, to ensure keirons work has contiinued?
  13. now available to view here all questions were asked by fans.
  14. no it didn't. We were not in any debt when that was built. The boards decision to extend it, however, put us back in debt.
  15. So, lets get this straight. You got prank called, fell for it, took a hissy fit, now everything's ok because you checked your phonebook and realise it's a prank? Are you 9 years old? Jezuz! the last time I got prank called by someone I know, i laughed it off. Patted him on the back for fooling me and moved on. Infact, you're 12, right?
  16. In an ideal world, as you describe, the main stand would become a dedicated family stand, where the old golden thistle rooms became baby changing area's etc. As long as we live in your ideal world. The problem is... the JHS was built for the early 90's, where Scottish football lived in a dream of 10,000 capicity for every game. The powers that be didn't see a down turn 10 years later, lets be honest, neither did we as fans. Thistle were rising! It was the bukta season, we had the top scoring midfield in the then SPL, we were on fire! Then came the reality at the end of the 20th century. Then came our Board of Directors downsizing to fit the new reality. Selling off ground at will. You will get many people come on here defending Propco, because crowds are so low, why should we have a 10k stadium... fact is it's peaks n troughs, in 10 years, crowds will increase, I bet my life on it. Look at decade trends instead of specific year on year "details". Yes we are in a down turn, not only that but the price is high and the product is poor. Question: at £5 a game, is junior football experiencing the same recession as the professional game? Answer: no it's not, it's displaying a constant high level, more than value for money producet, and surviving through community bars, social clubs etc. Maybe we'd survive if we lost the ego? This is the 80's all over again, we need to pull through, our board need to learn from those lessons, and come out stronger, so that the 2020 version of jim oliver see's us through the bad times and beyond. The great pity is, I don't think our board are caring past 2015. Why should they when the club dies they'll walk with a profit!!!
  17. Going by your post, and others reaction, it may be these turn coat Old Firm fans that are keeping the club heart beating. Of a crowd of 2000 would it be fair to say that maybe 15% are stay away old firm fans? Going by these posts above: 10% rangers fans and 5% no name/no shame celtic fans? On top of this... What % are free kids? What % are hospitality/comps? The fact is, we as a club are at a bare minimum. the board are idiots = stay away fans the previous manager was a shambles = stay away fans the "new" manager's a tactical nightmare and doesn't promote ball on the deck football = stay away fans 2000 is the bare minimum. So, on a budget of 2000 fans a game, plus sponsorship etc, just what sort of budget has this manager got? His saving grace, a couple of youths that seem ready to step in. I really didn't think he'd give them a game. But he has, i hope he continue's to!
  18. tearing boyle a new one apparently
  19. an incredible free kick by all accounts, ran straight to mccall to get it up him...
  20. It took the rest of the league around 4 months to realise how to play against us: pack the defence, let us pass it side ways, take it off us and counter attack. The squads not changed really. Have mccalls tactics? That's the big question. If we play the same style as last season, and the year before and mccall again demonstrates his inability to change things via substituitions and half time team talks... This could be a terrible season.
  21. palin was an outstanding player who should have went on to better things with us... like stringing 5 games together. injury prevented it tho'.
