Normally this would br true but I suspect managers might think twice about saying this in future!

The time to consider legal action is when we know what league we will be playing in and when the relegation of Hearts is confirmed! As of today we know the former (as do Stranraer); Hearts are still a bit up in the air. Once their position is known and if it is the will of the 3 clubs they will have a better chance acting together. However given our experience in 2004 when the Courts demonstrated a reluctance to adjudicate on sporting matters I would be very doubtful of success and feel we would have no chance if we act alone! Perhaps the best course of action is to gear up to play in League 1, win it and win promotion to the championship and start kicking championship club ass, especially Dundee! I have bought my season ticket and I sm making plans to attend as many home games as possible. I will not be taking in any away games and as previously stated will donate away gate money to the Jags.

I started out being very hopeful that reconstruction would keep us in the championship but over the last month or so reached the view that it wasn't going to happen. I accept there is still a bit of water to flow beneath the bridge before next season starts but, barring legal action perhaps with - Hearts (once and if SPL is called) and Stranraer, we now know where we will be playing. It's been a very 'noisey' period particularly since the vote but there are a couple of things, we shouldn't forget: 1. we wouldn't have been in this position if we hadn't been bottom of the league, (I know stating the obvious but before we blame others we should be mindful of this point) and 2. if the voting method had been conducted under a democratically run secret ballot the SPFL proposal would have fallen and Dundee would not have had the opportunity to play games. Best of luck to Rangers with their independent enquiry and if carried I hope it picks up on point 2 above. I also hope they win their 'personal' battle with McLennan who given his partiality toward some clubs and hostility towards others is clearly not fit to occupy the position he holds as Head of the SPFL.

Agree. Westminster (WM) completely underestimated, to the point of complacency, the implications of this virus. WM made it clear from outset it would be responsible for procurement of PPE and Testing Equipment and roll out to rest of UK for distribution to where needed. During a televised interview at the start of March The Health Secretary (Hancock) was extremely evasive on what action the Govt had and was taking to procure the above equipment and when first orders had been placed. What emerged was scandalous: 1. The WM Govt had declined to join a Europeann procurement scheme 2. Did not place any orders for said equipment in February. Summing up Journalist implied February was a wasted month and in comparison to other countries " the UK was the slowest boat in the convoy"! Question: how many people, NHS Staff and patients, have suffered because the WM Govt was so slow off the mark? I won't be voting for this lot!

Maybe I am stretching it a bit, we will see. I agree with you re Anne Budge and her support for Rangers. I was very surprised by this. An error of judgement or an emotional response. Either way it's unlikely to be well received by the SPFL or encourage support for reconstruction. Regarding reconstruction I hope you and other optimists are right and my pessimism proves to be wrong!

Thought this might be the case - was just wondering! Thanks

Agreed

An excellent result 95.5% not seeking a refund! That 4.5% did seek a refund suggests a very small number of fans did so on some point of principle or because they are facing very hard times. Either way motives and actions should be respected and I hope for the latter things improve soon.

I agree it seems unfair to the clubs mentioned in your post. Looking at the bigger picture the restructuring from 4 to 3 Leagues is a plus point. It brings the SPL one step closer to the clubs currently in League 2 or at least those clubs with any ambition such as Cove. At the same time this proposal leaves Peterhead, Clyde, Forfar and Stranraer arguably no worse off than they are now - still in the 3rd tier. Phrases like "looking at thr bigger picture" are not normally associated with Scottish Football unlike words such as "self-interest" Therefore as I said in an earlier post I now find it difficult to muster any belief that reconstruction will actually happen. We should prepare for next season in League 1.

Middle name must be 'Weir'! Fantastic example of generosity

Only did mine a couple of weeks ago. First S/O deduction not due until 10th May. I did purchase my first ever season ticket in mid-april and received usual immediate email confirmation but nothing since! How long does it normally take for Club to send actual season ticket? Anyone?

Allyo has just pointed out my error. Apologies to you and thanks for taking the time to read and respond to my post. Humble pie in order for me! Cheers.

Your right... apologies to jagfox. I must be in a touchy mood just now!

Good news off the park just need to replicate on the park. Nn

I am not sure I follow this "make your mind up" stuff! I was very positive (and hopeful) that reconstruction would actually happen and that as a result we could be saved from relegation! However over the past two weeks the momentum has swung in the opposite direction. The League 2 Club's set out their positions and one by one other individual clubs have done the same. I admire Lady Isobel for her optimism (and hope she is right) and agree with Allyo about the fact there are a lot unknowns, My mind hasn't changed I want us playing in the Championship next season but the evidence is starting to suggest otherwise! Personally I don't see what's wrong with modifying a position or changing it completely if this is based on evidence!

Perhaps it's just postering but as each day passes I am becoming less hopeful of reconstruction and more resigned to playing in the championship next season Reasons: - all League 2 Clubs saying they will vote against any model that isn't 3x14 - Ross County, Hamilton, Kilmarnock and Livingston saying they will vote against any proposals that are temporary Too many pieces to fall into place for reconstruction to happen and as a consequence, for us to remain in the championship! Hope I am wrong but think we better gear up for League 1!

Looking forward to this relationship with O'Neills. This asdumes the quality of the product will be as good as the sports merchandise I saw during numerous trips to Ireland.

I see the point as the 'worst' affected club there is a strong case that we should be in there banging the drum! We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that this drum banging is not just about the alleged conduct of the SPFL its also about Rangers not wanting Celtic to be given the League Title. Throughout this shambolic affair we have maintained a professional and dignified silence and I see no reason to change this approach at this time. Rangers have the power and influence to batter away at the SPFL and win or lose, emerge unscathed. We don't! I think we should continue working away quietly to seek justice and fairness and do all that we can to make sure that when football resumes we are still in the championship! The best way to do this is by being mature and responsible and by participating fully, even taking a leading ROLE, in the reconstruction talks, not by attacking the SPFL! I know many will read the above as yet another weak appeasement response and perhaps they will be correct. I simply think that there is more than one way to win this argument and that for us the argument is remaining in the championship and staying one step away from the SPL!

I agree completely with all that you say. What you are referring to is a root and branch overhaul of Scottish football. I support 3x14 as a short term pragmatic measure. I am already on record of advocating 2 x18 team divisions with a pyramid structure below plus a distribution of gate money on a 60-40 basis or better. Implied in this is a fairer distribution of all monies. However I am not knowledgeable about TV contracts, sponsorship, players contracts so leave that to those who do know. I do know two things 1. The current arrangements are not wkrking 2. The good sense demonstrated on this forum related to possible future league structures will not be replicated by the powers and the root and branch change will never happen; too much vested ingerest! I hope I am wrong on point 2 and will be very pleasantly surprised if I am!
-
I think it will improve the quality of player/play as an 18 team league will provide middle order clubs like ours with a bigger comfort zone, hopefully, allowing more scope to develop our own talent!
-
Moving away from Covid-19 just for the moment. I see from various news sources there is a growing momentum for a 14 team SPL. The structure below the SPL seems to be less clear with two models emerging 3 Leagues of 10 (overall 14/10/10/10) and two of 14 (overall 14/14/14/) My preference if one of the above would be 3x14. Either model keeps Jags in the Championship but won't solve problems of Scottish Football. IMO we need bigger leagues! Everyone Keep save, Keep well and Respect & Protect all our brave and dedicated NHS Staff.

I saw Freebairn a number of times and thought he was the sort of keeper a defence could have confidence in and rely on. Perhaps lacking the 'wow' save but a technically very good keeper. A fondly remembered Jag. C ondolences to 'big John's' Family.

Bought my first ever season ticket last week and joined the centenary fund. My way of saying "stick up you" to SPFL! Bad attitude I know and will calm down regardless of what happens. I felt I had to show a more tangible form of support for the club I love and have supported all my life than simply turning up to the odd game. I live north of Aberdeen and even though it means a 12 hour + day/journey the thought of a fortnightly Mega Bus trip to Glasgow (my home town) is becoming exciting! C'mon the Jags!

From a working perspective an office environment provides a social context which is extremely valuable for mental health purposes as well as psychological perspectives. Being able to interact with people on a face to face, individual or team context is good for a number of reasons, for example, feeling involved and valued, being part of something even participating in office gossip and social occasions and events! A big problem for organisations and management in being convinced about working at home is how to organise, monitor and control work and how to ensure time is utilised effectively - in short, trust!
-
I accepted the meaningless games argument as well for dwindling crowds but now I am more inclined to think the reasons were more complicated and that this was only one of a number of reasons. Bigger leagues do allow a bigger comfort zone for middle size clubs like Killie, Dunfermline, Falkirk and The Jags. In the bigger leagues there is more scope to nurture young talent that that afforded by the smaller leagues. For all their weaknesses, and their is no one perfect solution, bigger eagues aren't as boring as smaller leagues! Let's be honest whereas the lower leagues can generally be competitive the SPL (like the English PL) is not competitive at the top end! In Scotland clubs are playing for 3rd place, while in the EPL they are playing for 3rd/4th place! Both leagues are competitive at the bottonm end! No for all their weaknesses it's bigger leagues for me!
