  1. LOLs. Five extra people try to check out their site and it crashes!
  2. Craig-W

    I'm Off!

Bit daft to write a long post to announce your departure, and then mention how [if you stop supporting] you hope you can disappear quietly....
  3. Sporting merit? How many players do the new Rangers actually have right now? Perhaps they should be allowed into the local 5-a-side league if that is what comes first.
  4. The situation turns farcical as the apparently mentally ill become involved... Paul Gascoigne declares and interest in playing for Rangers next year, whilst former Dundee director Giovanni Di Stefano wants to buy the club and move them to England. The laughing stock becomes even more, well, laughable. The Sun story link
  5. I've just had a look through our box of old programmes but don't have one for that particular game, sorry. Can't even remember being there! There was a programme for the friendly the following year versus Le Havre, so I'm sure there was one for Villa. Someone will have a copy! Is there are market for old programmes out there? We have seasons worth going back to 1995.
  6. Sounds like the typical laissez-faire attitude of the boys at the big table.
  7. Scotland's finest pictured in that photograph there.
  8. What's happening here is that the powers that be have decided that the new club HAS to be returned to the top flight as soon as possible - if not now then the next season. So, if they do not win the division at the first time of asking what will happen? Will the top league be expanded to include them? If the new Rangers finish sixth in this years first division, will the SPL be expanded to 18 teams? What if they finish 10th? We have all seen dodgy decisions go Rangers way in games against Thistle - remember a certain player getting yellow carded for crossing himself? Anyone attending that game was left in no doubt that the referee bottled his decisions all afternoon to ensure Rangers won. My point is every single game will have to be scrutinised to ensure the authorities are not ensuring victories for the club from Ibrox. If those people in charge of our game are so desperate to rip up the rules, give claims with no proof or evidence, and promote ideas of 'social unrest' to gain the result they desire, what wont they do? It seems the result of next Friday's meeting has already been decided. I hope I'm wrong. However I honestly do not see any difference between that and just simply deciding the score of every match involving the new Rangers for the next year. I wouldn't want to watch ANY league where I know the team I'm following isn't allowed to win. Sorry, bit rattled. Much like everyone else I suppose. How I wish we could just be discussing the minutiae of the pre-season friendlies.
  9. Couldn't even finish that Burley column. I'm surprised he could mash his fists into the computer keyboard long enough to string together coherent sentences. You can't call it a disgrace because the man is not in touch with reality. SCREW ALL THE MINNOWS, LETS HAVE RANGERS PLAY CELTIC 40 TIMES A YEAR; After all they're the only teams with a proper fanbase in this country.
  10. Would you want to attend a game when you had been told beforehand that the score would be 1-0 to the opposing team?
  11. That's because Glasgow will keel over and die without the oxygen of hatred, ignorance and bigotry the big two provide, keeping the city vibrant and culturally significant in the world. Probably.
  12. I'm sure there will be plenty worn today. It is no fun having to live near an orange lodge.
  13. You say that you're not judging a soul, but the tone of your post reads very disparagingly towards those that are angry enough to leave - "go to Raith Rovers away to worship Lord Turnbull Hutton", for example. Tensions are clearly heightened for every fan of Scottish football at the moment. Please, let's not start attacking each other - let's wait until something is actually decided by those 'in charge', at least.
  14. Ugh. We're circling the drain as the bleach is about to be poured out.
  15. Sorry it this is contradictory or repetitious, but 16 team leagues, play each other twice a season - to avoid the mind-numbing boredom of the current situation. Yes it was similar in the past, and apparently people became sick of it - but I can't think it can be worse than the current way of things. I don't want to watch Falkirk or Stirling or Queens or Hamilton four, five, six times a year - and I'm sure they don't want to see us likewise. And hey, if we're going into cloud cuckoo land: Scottish football adopts the American style of profit sharing: every team gets an equal share of it all. For every shirt and piece of merchandise and ticket sold, every team gets an equal share. Excitement and equality should be the rule. Anybody watch Spain versus Portugal? Was that as fun as an average division one game? The talent may have been better but the entertainment wasn't. There are so many ways we can improve our game, for the level Scotland is currently at, but it just wont happen - pessimism yes; cynicism yes - but we can't all dream?
  16. Sorry, I don't think this is about 'revenge'. Revenge for what? Because we dislike them? I dislike most other football teams, doesn't mean I want to destroy them. Rangers destroyed themselves, through secret deals and trying to hide from HMRC. You dip the till and get caught - it's not revenge to get sacked. I think there's a vast difference between revenge and justice - and then becoming a whore is a different thing entirely.
  17. "• And seen in the context of a wider strategic plan" A Wider. Strategic. Plan. Is that the one where Celtic and Rangers depart our diddy game for the glorious golden pastures of an EPL/European League/North Atlantic League? Or is it just the one where the money bird lays eggs under pillow of every chairman? Let them show us - the fans, the people that actually fecking matter - a strategic plan that doesn't look like it was written down on the back of a beermat.
  18. Exactly this. I don't support Thistle because of our religious background. I don't support Thistle because 'winning is everything'. I support Thistle because it makes me proud to be part of something more important - community, history, integrity. If Partick Thistle decide to move to Cambuslang and play in purple and pink, then I doubt I would continue to support them. If Partick Thistle decide that money is more important than sporting integrity, and squeal for the short term dollar, then likewise, they aren't the club I wish to follow. I've been going since 1993, if that's something that makes a difference.
  19. If that's true, Dark Passenger, that the SPL clubs are coercing the first division clubs to do this, then not only is it disgusting (and yet unsurprising), then you can see how much pressure that would put on our club. What do we do? Vote against it and be forced out of a new SPL2, guaranteeing the death of our club, or vote for it and drive all the fans away, guaranteeing the death of our club? Who wants to bet that this vote will be conducted in secret? Someone - us - should release a statement blowing the whistle on the SPL clubs and their hypocrisy, if such actions are true.
  20. Someone dislikes Greenock because it's "the most ****** town I have been in in Scotland". Says it all really. I feel dirty just having looked at that website. EDIT: and the precise word has been censored as being utter bigotry here, but not on their site....
  21. Well, the First Minister's entitled to holidays too, but you'd be a bit miffed if he buggered off whilst a hurricane was about to strike the country.
  22. Even in death Rangers suck the life out of the rest of Scottish football.
  23. Sorry, can someone post again the most appropriate e-mail address for the club to send similar e-mails to? I have written one expressing my view, just need to send it!
  24. "Rangers are to be relegated with immediate effect and replaced in the SPL by Dundee" THEY CAN'T BE RELEGATED BECAUSE THEY DON'T EXIST! Sorry to be so repetitious but that part is simply ridiculous. Talk about rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. If this gets voted through by our club it'll be the end of Thistle.
