  1. Apparently Fred MacAulay interviewed him a few years back and asked the question "So Patrick, the Astronomical Society. Just how big is that?"
  2. I rather think that it's my decision whether my opinion is humble or not!
  3. The Binos have always had a large travelling support.
  4. If the food listed above formed your staple diet, I wouldn't be surprised if your taste buds gave up in revolt. Smoking and alcohol can help kill them off too.
  5. Things are starting to improve - November's results Oh! I nearly forgot! Fix!
  6. My God! The repercussions of this for Thistle are virtually non-existant.
  7. Almost as daft as celebrating a diamond jubilee 59 years after your coronation.
  8. I've got an inkling that Martin O'Neill will be available soon. Not a Scotsman, but has a good knowledge of the game up here.
  9. Took my son to his third game at Firhill on Saturday. On both previous occasions (Dumbarton & Airdrie), Jaggy spent the last half hour before kick-off ambling around beside the players' tunnel at the far side of the pitch and was nowhere to be seen at half-time, despite ideal weather conditions. My son finally got his picture taken with Jaggy on Saturday while he was standing at the programme seller's booth. He's obviously delighted, but I noticed that, once in the ground, Jaggy spent most of his time at the south end of the JHS, whilst all the youngsters are up in the north end of the JHS.
  10. Potentially all 4 Glasgow teams at home that weekend.
  11. Blue & Purple again today by the looks of it
  12. Why not try putting up a notice at University asking if anyone can offer you a lift? Does your uni have a rugby club? If so, ask around there. Cheapest way would be to stand close to the nearest M8 eastbound on-ramp holding a large piece of cardboard with "Murrayfield" written on it. You're probably too late for cheap Megabus or rail tickets.
  13. Yes, that is the only thing, but .
  14. There was a bohemian monk Who went to sleep in his bunk He dreamt that Venus Was licking his elbow And woke up all covered in perspiration
  15. The wee man and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves yesterday, so it seems a shame to raise this. What's the story with Jaggy McB? We got into the ground at 2.30 and spotted him standing by the players' tunnel. And there he stayed until just before kick-off when he escorted the mascots onto the pitch. At half-time there was no sign of him whatsoever. I can still remember my daughter's delight a few seasons back when she would get to "high-5" PeeTee at half-time, and I'm sure getting a similar opportunity would make my son's day. However, at both games he's attended, despite perfect weather conditions, Jaggy McB seems to be giving the Jackie Husband stand a wide berth.
  16. The innocence of the optimistic youth!
  17. First the Campo de FĂștbol de Vallecas and now Cappielow. I can't help but think there's an international gang involved. Someone call Interpol.
  18. We got a passing mention on The Guardian's Football Weekly podcast on Monday for our unbeaten start to the season (48 minutes in).
  19. I don't have a great problem with the draw results being published in the subsequent month. However, if this is to be the case, perhaps the website should be updated to reflect this so that participants' expectations can be set appropriately. The "Join Now!" tab on the microsite still proudly boasts that "The draw will take place on or before the 15th of each month" and that page was updated to reflect changes in contact details earlier this month. In short, I get the impression that unless someone gives a nudge to those responsible, they would simply forget to do the draw. If there is a genuinely valid reason for the delay, why can't we just be told what it is and arrange for a change to the information on the microsite?
  20. Anyone not in (or very recently in) our division please. Home would be nice, but wouldn't mind Away. Is that too much to ask?
  21. Please tell me we were still in the change strips today. Would cause all kinds of angst if we dropped our first points in red and yellow.
