  1. Have been to a few good wedding venues over the years and some pretty poor ones too. Have you thought about how many guests you're going to have? Or a rough idea of how far you're willing to travel? Edit - Also consider whether you want the service and the reception at the same venue.
  2. Out of curiosity, and minor boredom, I looked back through the forum to see when the draw results were announced... Jan 20th 2011 Feb 20th 2011 Mar 17th 2011 Apr 15th 2011 May 19th 2011 Jun 22nd 2011 Jul 27th 2011 Aug 16th 2011 Sep 20th 2011 Oct 20th 2011 Nov 18th 2011 Dec 21st 2011 Jan 23rd 2012 Feb 26th 2012 Mar 29th 2012 Apr 27th 2012 Jun 1st 2012 (May Draw) Jul 5th 2012 (June Draw) Aug 1st 2012 (July Draw) Sep 3rd 2012 (August Draw) I can't see anywhere on the website where it states the 15th of the month as the draw date, but I have vague memories of it being there in the past. Also, the Join Now tab page includes an email link to Ami Small. I thought she left a few months ago?
  3. Outrageous decision! This will certainly reduce the number of viewers of the match on BBC Alba, risking future funding of Gaelic language programming in Scotland. How could our club etc. etc. ....
  4. Was using a general analogy rather than specifying one of your acquaintances. As far as I'm aware, I don't know you or who your friends are, However, we've all got one of those friends.
  5. He was a lot funnier when he had to operate under the constraints of the BBC. Nowadays, he just seems desperate to provoke anyone for attention. A bit like your mate who's quite funny with 3 or 4 drinks in him, but is an annoyingly loud liability when he's had a few too many.
  6. It wasn't that long ago that many members on this forum threatened to walk away from the club if they voted in favour of Rangers in Division 1. Hamilton voted in favour and publicly admitted it. Maybe their fans carried through with their threats.
  7. Show them a thread from a couple of years ago.
  8. First time we've won 4 consecutive league games since 2006/7
  9. Not if you look at the top goal scorers on our page.
  10. Care to "name and shame" the miscreants? Every year I get quoted a better deal from Admiral than my renewal letter from Elephant.co.uk offered. Every year I phone up Elephant and get my insurance at the price Admiral offers. Elephant and Admiral are the same company.
  11. You do realise that, even though you're an "away" fan, the admission money still goes to Rangers?
  12. Well, I've got no good reputation to speak of, so I'll be the one who points out that it was Steps who sang Tragedy. I'm off to iron my pinny.

    Cyclists

I was thinking just the other day that, now that the schools have gone back, what the forum really needs is another pro/anti cyclist discussion. Maybe this time we'll get some reasoned debate resulting in a compromise we can all agree on, rather than the childish name calling that has blighted the previous threads. Doubt it though.
  14. Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Breathe in through nose, out the mouth. Wax on, wax off. Don't forget to breathe, very important.
  15. I'm not sure whether this counts as pedantry, but can someone please explain how the BBC can spell our players' names correctly in the squad list, yet are unable to do so when identifying our top three goal scorers this season? BBC Partick Thistle page
  16. Only last week, my 6 year old daughter was complaining about her little brother going into her bedroom. "I don't like him being here!", she exclaimed. Obviously, I advised her that you should always use a possessive adjective instead of a pronoun with a gerund and that she should have said "I don't like his being here.". I don't know what they teach them at school nowadays.
  17. Susanna Reid is the only reason you need to watch BBC Breakfast.
  18. From Japan? I doubt it.
  19. Nice to see Sinclair shoot with both his left then right foot at the first goal. All too often we've seen opportunities squandered because players won't, or can't, hit the ball with their weaker foot.
  20. I stpped getting annoyed when I realised that whenever I complained, I always made an arse of it or got really paranoid that I had. As long as there.is no ambiguity, I don't think there's a problem.
  21. Played behind a back four of Duncan Norvelle, Stu Francis, Les Dennis and Dustin Gee if memory serves.
  22. I also have a tenuous reference to Thistle that I can link to my ongoing political agenda. Perhaps I should start a thread on the Main Jags Forum too and see how many people I can piss off.
  23. How do you propose getting experience for fringe players, other than playing them in fixtures like tonight's? Which is what we did and still managed to win
  24. Website server works fine 99.99% of the time. It's annoying if it goes down during matches with live text updates, but don't suppose it's worth the extra outlay on resources to cover that 0.01%, especially when the info is available elsewhere.
