  1. Rumour has it Tony wishes he could be like Davis Watts.
  2. Think we'll adopt a more cautious approach away from home. With more attack minded players on the bench in case we need to turn things around. Last season the away form after Archie took over was a big factor in winning the league.
  3. Fook, it's going to be a long hard season
  4. The shop location seems to be an issue, I assume those people who won't go there because it is so out of the way are saving their energy to walk a million miles for one of their goals.
  5. Apparently related to Mark Kerr, think his name is Juan.
  6. That was a great trip particularly the march through the town and Nicky Walker dropping a pint got a laugh.
  7. Sorry to hear that. Had some good laughs and good team building tours like Arran and Inverness. Hope they don't do a Sevco, that would be undignified.
  8. It's all an improvement on years ago when the shop at Firhill didn't get any home tops until about February and didn't get any socks at all.
  9. It's times like these when you wish you were an Airdrie United fan.
  10. Having read the replies I'm glad it was titled "on a brighter note" Any news if they were seen at Glasgow Airport or Prestwick airport as this may have some bearing.
  11. Doing a good job over the piece. OK there's the odd hiccup but overall reducing the debt, good managerial appointments and trying to engage with the fans is like night and day compared to the last 30 years. Get aff the mans back.
  12. If the reason for moving the Thislte fans from the North stand is financial the board are taking a short term view. As far as the C****c fans setting fire to the main stand then I'd gladly pay to watch that and my only regret would be if there were a couple of empty seats.
  13. I've just read through this entire thread and am now going for a wee lie down. Let's see the stuff in the flesh. My overall impression is that anyone who has claimed to have seen or knows someone who has seen the gear has been impressed with it. I will reserve judgement until then.
  14. Thought a big plus last season was getting players signed up early and getting plans in place and a full pre season. This hasn't always been the case in previuos years. So great to see that things are moving quickly on the signing front.
  15. If a player has options between say Hearts, Kilmarnock and Thistle. Surely Hearts would be at the bottom of that list regardless of wages on offer there's a fair chance you'll not get any.
  16. Hearts, Hearts glorious Hearts, It's down at Tynecastle they bide, The talk of the toon is that they're shuttin' doon.
  17. Bet it at 5/1 didn't finish until 10 past 3
  18. Great manager good at the mind games, remember Kevin Keegan going into meltdown. Bill Leckie will be touting Jackie McNamoney for the job. Get in there before the odds tumble.
  19. If United have shifted the onus onto JM then that doesn't lend itself to a great working relationship, as you say it's a lot of money. As far as installments are concerned we may have been within our rights to knock that back, but the reality is we would get the £80,000 eventually, whereas at the moment lawyers cost money and no guarantee of a victory. That seems like a bit of a gamble over as you say a lot of money.
  20. Never fully understood why we didn't accept the installments. Hope it wasn't a case of the Thistle board spitting out the dummy. Don't think that will sit well with the courts. Regardless of the legal position, how well / badly drafted the contract, the fact is that there was a new contract that both the club and manager mentioned included a compensation clause. The fact that compensation was involved means at best he is morally wrong trying to wriggle out of this. Unless his position is that he is not personally responsible for this and the club had their opportunity to receive the £80,000 all be it in installments.
  21. He'll pay half the £80,000 compensation money due when he receives the £40,000 bonus. Then everyone can claim a result.
  22. Before I start can I just say a) I have got a ticket and I am not a better fan than anyone else. I agree with 1 ticket per season ticket, but can't see the logic in traditionally offering season ticket holders first refusal ( as an added incentive to puchase the ST) and then to give them a window of a few hours after 5pm to then put them on public sale. These tickets should have been on sale last week. It is coneivable that there are season ticket holders out there who couldn't get to Firhill last night and will not now get to the game.
