  1. F.T 1-1 What a f*cking disgrace. Each and every player involved should feel utterly ashamed. Up against a barnacle on the arse of Scottish football and all we can manage is a draw. Shameful
  2. On course for an all time horrific low. And given some of the humiliations we have suffered through the years that would be some achievement
  3. Got a short memory then, haven't they! After gaining three points at Firhill courtesy of of one of the most blatant dives I have ever witnessed how can these people have the bloody nerve to complain when a decision goes against them against us at Dens? Shower of Hypocrites
  4. From the official Dundee FC web site: Date: 29 October 2011 Venue: Dens Park Competition: League - SFL1 Result: 1-2 Jags grab controversial win Dundee controversially went down to their fourth successive home defeat at Dens today, in a game that hinged on two decisions by referee Steven O'Donnell, who mistakenly red carded Rab Douglas after 24 minutes, then just after half time failed to send off Chris Erskine for a dangerous challenge with his elbow on Neil McGregor. Full Report Given the circumstances off their win at Firhill I feel they have a bloody cheek complaining that things went against them today. As they can't even get the score right on their match report I find it hard to take any of this seriously. Quite frankly today was nothing short of poetic justice
  5. Yes, well done Ryan Scully ! What a massive confidence booster that must be for him
  6. full time 1-0 jags !! Revenge is sweet and Dundee go bottom
  7. I'm beginning to wonder which team is playing with 10 men
  8. 1-0 Jags! Rab Douglas red carded
  9. I'll see your David Klein and raise you a Nelson Still
  10. Without a shadow of doubt Alan Rough was the best goal keeper I have ever witnessed The media can bang on about Jim Leighton, Andy Goram, Craig Gordon, Alan McGregor and any of the myriad of foreign imports that they have salivated over through the years all they want but none of them are fit to lace big Roughie's boots
  11. I'm afraid I know exactly what you are talking about. Fortunately on the great day I was sitting in the main stand and encountered no problems but I experienced an example of what you are describing eleven years later at parkhead. Thistle had just gubbed the h*ns 2-0 in a mid week fixture at Firhill (Tony Higgins scoring in 27 seconds) and were following that up by leading 2-0 at parkhead when the great unwashed kicked off. Naturally the police got involved and surprise, surprise the tims started pointing at the Jags fans as if we were to blame. Yeah, were 2 up and we're going to start trouble. Naturally the police fell for it and as I recall dragged off a few Thistle fans who had the audacity to tell them that they had got it wrong. As I recall Tony Higgins missed a sitter which would have put us 3 up and before we knew it it was 2-2. At the end of the day I was happy to get out of parkhead with a point an in one piece

  13. Certainly saw one saying Partick but couldn't see the bottom of the flag. Here's hoping it said Thistle as opposed to Loyal
  14. OH DEAR, SOMEONE HAS JUST SET THEMSELVES UP AS THE NEXT VICTIM FOR THE SPANISH INQUISITION / FIRHILL STEWARDS
  15. Agree with just about all of that! I have to say that was about the worst I have ever seen Kris Doolan play, I have no idea what was wrong with him today but virtually nothing was going right for him. That said it was his reverse pass that set up the first goal. Hopefully his penalty goal right at the end will boost his confidence as he is a vital player for us! Thought Rowson, Cairney, Sinclair Hutton and Erskine were superb today. Ref, as always seems to be the case, was shocking. Pleased to see Mark Roberts getting a warm round of applause from the Thistle fans, he obviously appreciated it as well as he turned around to applaud the Thistle fans back. And to round it all off we got our first clean sheet of the season. All in all a good day to be a Jag
  16. Well I should be able to help you with this one as it was me that took this particular photo ! So, Back row 3rd from left is Chris Plews; 4th from left Alex Smith; 3rd from right Chris Edwards; 2nd from right Steve Smith; far right Alan McCawley Front row : far left Willie Reid; 2nd from left Chris Ratcliffe; far right Des Kelly At that time I took a second photo which included the coach who was ex Thistle keeper John Arrol. If you want a copy let me know
  17. Ok, 1997/98 : Back row first player on Left is Chris Edwards; Front row: Second from right is Tony Fraser and far right is Chris Collins 1997 : Front row second from right is Bryan Smith 1996/97 : Top row 4th from left is Chris Plews; Front row : Third from left S.Gold, 4th from left Chris Collins
  18. Great photo! I see there are a few question marks in the list of players so here are a few of the missing names. Coach far left is Drew Todd, player to the right of Kevin McCann surname is Hammell, if I remember correctly he is the brother of Stephen Hammell of Motherwell, last player back row on right in David Turnbull, man of many clubs senior & junior, Coach on right hand side is not Gordon Chisholm it is Fraser Gilchrist, Front row far left is Tony Fraser and far right is Bryan Smith, another player who should have made it in the professional game but didn't
  19. Yes, agree with both your selections. I would add Kevin McCann to that list. From the same Thistle under 16's youth team as Martin Lauchlan, Kevin was a tall centre half with real talent. Very similar in style to Scott Paterson. A stand out at youth team level he played a couple of games for the first team around the same time Martin Lauchlan also made the break through. I was expecting great things from Kevin but for some reason it never quite happened. Just goes to prove that there are no guarantees in football!
  20. As far as I am concerned Saturday at 3pm is not the problem and Friday at 7.45 is certainly not the solution. Once again the SFA/SFL have managed to avoid addressing what is actually driving fans away from football i.e. the cost and the poor standard of football on show! Partick Thistle are just about the only club to try and do something about this with the kids for free scheme but who apart form ourselves and the few visiting fans we now get have ever heard of this offer. The club should be advertising this everywhere and as often as they can. McDonald's realised a long time ago that the best way to increase the number of customers was to capture the kids market. Happy meals used as a loss leader with the free toy meant kids dragged parents along to McDonald's and then kept dragging them back again. We have the opportunity to do the same with the Kids go free scheme, advertise in local/ national newspapers , on radio, contact primary schools with an invitation to come along and then sit back and watch not just kids but paying parents click through the turnstiles. As for Friday night football, well it's been tried in England and I don't recall hearing anything about how great a success the experiment was...........
  21. Not just Thistle that get screwed by shocking penalty decisions then
