  1. 24 years since a victory against Rangers/Sevco...these games do mean a lot to Thistle fans... Our best team in 20 years, and we still can't hold out for a win against that mob. You have to admit, it's embarrassing. We see the badge and shit it, pure and simple. Still a long way to go to ditch the cuddly toy culture.
  2. I can picture it already, PTFC fined for half a dozen Thistle fans starting to sing 'Hello, hello' with one of them dragged off to court...(as has actually happened previously). Meanwhile, thousands of Celtic fans belting out the IRA party tunes, thousands of Sevco fans singing Billy Boys, informing us about Bobby Sands and booing players with 'Catholic-sounding' names...and not a thing will happen. As has forever been the case in the West of Scotland. With a media which will currently refuse to call out the Old Firm on what they are (institutionalised intolerance), it will take many more years for anything effective to happen.
  3. Zero point watching that garbage. Just use Youtube for Thistle highlights.
  4. 95 goals to date for Thistle and some still find a way to criticise Kris Doolan, mind-boggling. He has had to lead the line and score goals to win us games for the last 4 seasons, with only Lyle Taylor as the other competent striker during that period. Give Kris Doolan 2 goal scoring opportunities and he will score at least 1. Ade Azeez is unable to score goals and another striker, of any form, should have been targetted in the transfer window.
  5. A non-story that is circulated usually once a year; Celtic and Sevco would love for this to happen (as would I) but there is no chance. They would add nothing to an English League, and they would be shocked by the violence/behaviour/bigotry of their fans, which really has no equal in England.
  6. Join the queue of no ambition. Criticising those who want us to something other than shit the bed against the Old Firm for once in 20 years. Idiot.
  7. "Hard luck", small team mentality nonsense. Makes me sick.
  8. In fairness, these people are mostly very stupid, lead terrible lives with little of value, living in filthy hovels. All they have to cling on to in life is the "achievements" of a dead football club - "achievements" being winning domestic football titles in Scotland, all the while indulging in constant violence and bigotry and refusing to believe they were one of the most despised institutions in the world of football.
  9. "We have no right" wins Thistle fan cliche bingo today. Loser talk. The "we know our place" attitude was written all over our last visit to Ibrox. It's not wrong to have higher ambitions than relegation struggles versus Hamilton. It's pointless being involved in professional, competitive sport unless you are always striving to do better.
  10. Correct. Progressing as a club means being ruthless with failing players. Azeez - not good enough. Devine - not good enough. Get rid of them.
  11. Sadly today I think confirmed a lot to me about the current setup at PTFC. There is a chronic lack of ambition at Thistle, not on the part of fans, but the people in charge at the club. There was no desire today to really see beyond a routine 2-0 defeat. We travel to these games hoping for determined performances but are continually disappointed. There are only so many times you can struggle at the bottom of the table and manage to scramble free at the death. Aside from Sevco/Celtic/Aberdeen/Hearts, differences in attendances are largely negligible in this division, yet the wee team mentality persists, it's written all over all the staff. 35 years since we last won at Ibrox, and it's not changing any time soon
  12. Similar to their 0-0 with Ross County at Ibrox after a humilation against Celtic? Intimidating stuff. Warburton is a charlatan. Give them not an ounce of respect on Saturday, Thistle.
  13. Song requests in early please: You're not Rangers any more Sevco, sevco get to ****
  14. Vile, fat, Sevco reject Kris Boyd We could do with some tales of yore from the older Thistle generations of slaughtering Kilmarnock at the tractor dump
  15. An overall impression you get from the side is that they NEVER look comfortable. Permanently on the cusp of self-destruction. There is only so many times you can go through the cycle of a string of terrible performances, scrape a couple of good results, then terrible performances again. And in games against Celtic, especially, there is no demonstrable belief among the players that they can compete meaningfully in the game. Unfortunately we surely lack the money to progress anywhere further than this. Even if we survive this season, we would be favourites for relegation next.
  16. His tweet comes across as a conflict of interest. Of course if he had been a player for Sevco and had tweeted support for Thistle, I doubt that support would have been very welcoming of it. Enough cuddly toy submission to the Old Firm. Many of us have to follow quite stringent social media policies at work so I don't see why footballers can't adhere to one
  17. I don't think that Kilmarnock team will win 3 of the next 5 games. Everyone should chill out. The "split" is a bit of a strange concept and will probably die out, I think we are overestimating the significance of it all.
  18. Sentimental nonsense. The only people who are "Jags through and through" are the fans who pay to go every week.
  19. Archie out. There is a decision to be made here. The current situation will lead swiftly to relegation. By Christmas. Either we accept that is going to happen, with no evidence to the contrary, or we do what we can to change it. I want what's best for PTFC, not for a manager who has served us well but now no longer looks capable.
  20. No. Financially probably relegation makes little difference to Beattie. Crowds are terrible and likely wouldn't change much. Very, very limited ambition at the club.
  21. The unsavoury reality is that we have neither the money nor the support to do anything other than struggle in the top flight of scottish football. An undead bastion of bigotry in the first division gets ten times the home gates Thistle do. It's very sad, but true. Everyone disliked (at the very least) Dick Campbell, but our crowds even now are pretty similar to then. League tables follow finances, almost exactly. Kilmarnock, Ross County and Hamilton are again terrible teams this year but we cannot compete with wages against anyone in this division. Boo-boys - well people have very high aspirations for Thistle, and I would never criticise anyone for that. In that context, Alan Archibald has done an excellent job in winning the first division and staving off relegation for 2 seasons. I thank him for that. Unfortunately, without investment of some sort, things will only continue to be tough.
  22. Anyone know how many goals in total now for Thistle? And last player to score as many? Surely top scorer now in the last 20 years?
  23. Above Kilmarnock in the league, pissed all over them for most of the game - all the chat from insightful experts like Pat Bonner is that we are the ones going down, and that Kris Boyd will score 20 goals for Kilmarnock. With highlights readily available on youtube, absolutely no reason to watch this garbage.
