  1. Scores quite a few more than that pair in a worse team plus set up a fair few as well.
  2. In Greaves on Sauchiehall street and some new Jags merchandise in - new training tops, polo tops etc. Only seemed to be in the Sauchiehall street one though not the Gordon Street one. Doesnt seem to have been put on the Greaves Website yet.
  3. Just been watching the glaswegian interviews and Liam Buchanan is regarded as one of the more experienced players though he is only still 25 so I guess Ryan and Kieron will have him to learn from on the pitch. Off the pitch Im presuming Simon Donnelly obviously though as yet we still have not re signed him.
  4. I hope we sign him. McCall obviously rates him and he was a standout figure for Airdrie. So if he is capable of playing so well when surrounded by duds then more chance of seeing him excel in a better team such as ourselves. Not only did he score a number of goals for them as a midfielder but he set up a fair few as well. Seems to be quite similar to Steven McKeown except not injury prone so would definetly take him and to me would be a signing of someone who we are not really taking a gamble ie signing a Junior and hoping they come good.
  5. Not to sure if we were ever signing him anyway as it was just rumour. But we dont definetly be signing Jamie Longworth this summer anyway as he has just joined Queens Park.
  6. He cant be as she is with you according to all the rumours
  7. Maybe they are hoping to have a new signing wearing the strip. Therefore the board may actually allow a new signing by July 10th
  8. I dont know much about him mate, just stated on the SFL website he was currently with Albion Rovers
  9. Completely agree mate and would be a more inspiring signing than the untried Juniors
  10. The SFL website stated yesterday that us and Livingston are interested in Albion Rovers Central defender Mick O Byrne who is 21.
  11. One plus is that the first home game is Dundee. Theres very few games these days where we will get over 3000 but with this being the first home game and against Dundee in August then potentially we may actually get over 4000 and a wee bit of cash. Just thinking we had Dundee at Firhill in December last year and Decemeber is not the best month for attendances either and we got over 4000, so with it being sunny August hopefully we can at least fill Firhill halfway.
  12. Airdrie United don't own their stadium. They have to rent it for each game, not to sure if its a specific stadium company or the Council who they rent it from. I think they did own it at one stage when they were Airdrieonians.
  13. Thanks for the info McK, will be hard pushed to beat last years range
  14. For the last 2 Junes theres new stock released by Greaves of Thistle stuff like new training tops, tracksuits etc but aint seen anything out yet. Anyone know if they are releasing new leisure wear etc or been in Greaves? last years training tops, polo tops, fleece tops were pretty cool.
  15. Congrats Paul and all the best for the future
  16. Remember though Archie is injured for the first few months and there could be easily injuries to others as well. Surely we need a couple more ie someone like Eddie Malone who is versatile enough to cover in a few positions and one or 2 others which certainly wouldn't break the bank but at least give us a fighting chance.
  17. What you talking about now 'reading minds'? What runmours of facts are you talking about Mr Wonderful seeker of truth or should that be seeker of what you want to hear for your own little agenda
  18. Exactly, remember Season 2004-2005 where never did we anticpate relegation but rather bouncing back up to the SPL and look what happened there.
  19. JB there are actually millionaires already in Firhill, its jsut they choose not to spend the money on the club, which is entirely there choice of course. I lik eyou think mid table is best we can hope for, however i feel we have to be seen to be striving to improve and it is clear that the team does not need a couple of new faces in. As at present we are almost in the situation that we have more board members than we do players which is far from ideal. I also feel that if there is an emphasis on playing for mid table then we are in danger of seeing attendances, season tickets sales, hospitaltiy, centernay fund membership etc etc going down. Plus I do feel we need to be seen to give it our best shot remember season 2001-2002 the last thing we expected was promotion.
  20. I doubt very much you were willing to give him a chance as soon as he was appointed. With the exception of Lambie then you must have been a very unhappy man for the last 25 years as very few Managers at this club have been able to do anything with the players he signs, McCall has certainly been nowhere near the worst.
  21. No idea how McLaughlin would be but he did score 5-6 goals for Airdrie last season playing in midfield. Now that more than Hodge, Erskine, Corcoran, Rowson and McKeown scored for us from midfield. I appreciate Rowson in particualr does a lot of other work. Cosnidering how bad Airdrie were theres the chance McLaughlin would get a few more goals in a better team. He may be an average first divison player but we cant afford anything else and perhaps no more average than Erskine, Hodge, Mckeown. As previously said would prefer McLaughlin who lets face it would be hardly be on a fortune to an unproven Junior or some over the hill player.
  22. Not just Lovell and Tuffey's wage that has been freed up though, its also: Presntly Donnelly, Maxwell, Hinchcliffe, McNamara though they may be signed again. However also: Corrigan, Shields, Conroy, Halliwell, Stephen McKeown, Jim Hamilton and Ricky Little. A wage on Davie Irons was also saved for the last few months. So surely that should in addition to the resignings allow for 3 new signings plus a goalkeeper. Scott McLaughlan and Eddie Malone would do for starters plus another forward and goalkeeper that has still left quite a few savings. Again this is the first divison so I feel Mediocre Pundit is underestimating the divison any team can be capable of beating the other therefore writing off promotion or relegation is far too early. Also i for one would not exactly be over the moon if the board were to come out with there's no point in making new signings as we are aiming for 7th place anyway - watch the dominose affect on sponsorship, season tickets, attendances, Centenary Fund memberships, hospitality etc etc if this were to happen.
  23. I think it borders slighly on arrogance to assume we are safe because Cowdenbeath and Stirling Albion will be so bad, football is a funny game and you never know what will happen. Additionally as someone alluded to earlier how patient would some of our fans be if we were in generally just preparing a season to finish 7th. Plus we must hope on a good cup win somewhere.
  24. Nothing on the Offical website about this then I take it the Club are doing nothing for it this year, only 2 days to go so thought we would have done something by now if it was the case.
  25. Heard from a Dundee fan that Eddie Malone's still not signed for another team yet. If we could get him and Scott McLaughlin 2 players that have played quite a bit in thsi divison then that would be a couple of good additions to the team.
