Gallacher is away on trial down South according to the Evening Times today, so effectively answered my own question. To be fair most English clubs can pay considerably more than us. McNamara says will take a look if he doesnt get fixed up.
-
He has had a year and a half to come up with the goods a lot longer than a lot of other players have been given, how long realistically does he need?
-
On another wikipedia states 10 goals and 31 games. DAFC states another thing entirely. Seems to be different websites different stats. Not that it really matters as I doubt their will be money availble from the board for another striker.
-
Not First Divison but we will be playing Stenhousemuir on saturday who have signed Kevin McKinlay.
-
Was Gallacher in the squad at all? I thought Jackie had said after the Motherwell game he was going to play him the full 90 minutes
-
But should we not have a wee boost following saturdays game - I guess the directos will know whether that is the case or not? I thought Grehan was injured the last couple of games of the season His year and a half at the Jags has really been distinctly average if we were to be honest, has had a few good goals certainly but had a few howlers as well. Its not really as though he is young and inexperienced like Fraser etc Agree with regards to Stewart potentially he could be a great signing and was good on saturday a vast improvement on his performance against Motherwell .
-
With the big crowd did we get a fair few of these sold on saturday?
-
It's not linked thought I would mention Lyle though since he used to play for us and people may be interested. Although not a signing yet, former Jags player Kevin McKinlay has been playing as a trialist for Ayr United.

Played roughly 20 games for Pars last year and scored about 10 goals. Capable of setting up a few as well. I always thought he had did quite well at Clyde considering they didnt exactly have a great squad and probably played a large part in saving them one season from relegation. The Dundee situation was slight different they were buying up every striker under the sun. Not a Leigh Griffiths or a Mark Stewart certainly more than capable of scoring and setting up a fair few and setting us up strongly for a promotion challenge.

Will The Main Stand Be Open For Visit Of Celtic?
Third Lanark replied to general george's topic in Main Jags forum
I thought the club was a bit late in advertising hospitality for this game. From where I was sitting I couldnt see the hospitality area, was their much of a take up on this? -
Apparently Hamilton Accies have signed Derek Lyle

Well said.As you say one of the good guys. Was a very sad time a few years back for him and his children when he lost his wife so young. Its amazing how well the golfers from Northern Ireland have been doing in the majors the last couple of years.

Great thread If Aarron keeps up these great performances then would like to see his 2 year contract extended to 3 years.

My Pars supporting mate informs me that he rumours are Clarke is asking to be released from his contract because he is fed up with not getting a game under McIntyre despite being the Pars second top goalscorer last season. If these 'rumours' are true (and for all I know my mate could be wrong) them would rather the money used to loan Stewart from Hearts or if there was any money made from yesterdays game to towards securing Clarke and Declan Gallacher than the Hearts midfielder. I would feel pretty confident with Clarke, Doolan and Stewart that we would have another firepower to win this league.

I would like Gallacher to be signed and another striker. Dont know if that answers your question or not. I would rather the money being allocated towards signing Stewart from Hearts went towards a striker. Balatoni was required and I agree that was a priority. I dont think Gallacher would be on a fortune, he is only 18 and has been released from Celtic and therefore money for Stewart(Hearts player), plus any money from tomorrow, Centenary Fund etc should go towards the striker. I do agree with your point also we currently have plenty of strikers on our books and especially what we really require is quality not quantity. For me Burns needs to be loaned out and I personally dont feel we can really count on Donnelly as a striker. Also because of their age I still feel its still a lot to ask Fraser,McGrotty to step up to the plate just now. For me Im still not convinced enough with Grehan (though the abuse he gets is ridiculous) and if someone like Dunbarton or Stirling wanted to take him on loan and it helped free up cash for a more proven striker then I would let him go. Stewart has potential and has shown in a couple of games what he can do, he needs to make sure he carries on doing this, was a bit alarmed on wednesday night though not overly as obviously is still pre season. The one prolific striker we have is of course Doolan. Of course its all very well me wanting another striker but there is of course the likely chance that we wont get one. I think a lot of any other potential sumemr dealings are going to hinge to quite an extent on what sort of crowd we get tomorrow.

Iv always agreed we need another striker mate. Just hope we get a decent crowd on saturday that can help give us some cash towards getting one.

Will The Main Stand Be Open For Visit Of Celtic?
Third Lanark replied to general george's topic in Main Jags forum
I was meaning were they ever on sale at Celtics stadium or was it always at Firhill? Or if they were on sale at Celtics ground is it they were selling so poorly that they have now been referred to Firhill to buy the tickets? Sorry for the confusion -
Agree with you completely about Gallacher, hope we do sign him up. Am I right in thinking he is only about 18? Looked like he could be a fantastic find like Sinclair. Regarding the other trialist I dont think there was one, I thought I saw Shaun Fraser wear a strip that didnt have a number at the back, not sure if you were referring to him as a possible trialist or if you were getting mixed up with Johnny Lindsay.
-
Yep agreed, Tommy Stewart can also play in midfield if required in addition to the others we already have. Could do with another player upfront

Do you mean Will that they were originally selling them but there was few so few people bought them they have given up and decided to tell their supporters to go to Firhill and buy them or do you mean they were never selling them in the first place and its Firhill where fans have to buy them? I hope its the latter otherwise it really is going to be a very sparse crowd -
Agreed with a lot of what has already been said. The young lads were excellent: Sinclair what a prospect he is Campbell had a really good game Bannigan had some great touches when he came on Lindsay looked okay when he was on. By the way anyone know the young centre back was? Was it Kyle Lockhhead or was it the lad from Celtic Declan Gallacher? If its Gallacher am I right in thinking he is only about 18 if so should get him signed him up now looked pretty confident and like Sinclair has bags of potential. And if it was Lockhead then he is only about 19 so again fantastic potential. Of the other older players Fox (bar possibly giving away the penalty) and Rowser were excellent. Flannigan did get stuck in. Cairney ran himself ragged but again sometimes does to much and ends up giving the ball away. My concern was with what I would term perhaps 3 of our key players - Doolan, Erskine and Stewart. Not only did they seem toothless but they looked way way down from SPL standard and as the lad sitting next to me Stewart and Erskine in his opinion looked slightly disinterested. Not to sure if I would completely agree with that last part but there was a gulf between them supposedly our better players and the majority of Well players. Still not to concerned its early days and just another friendly. Another couple of games before the real action started. The main thing was great to see a fantastic Thistle crowd for Craigan, a great player for the club and hell of a nice guy. Well deserved Stephen hope you enjoyed the night

Yep well said, Gallacher is only 18 and already shows some very promising signs. Great if we can get Balatoni though I am presuming it would only be on loan and Gallacher waiting in the wings so if Balatoni goes back to Hearts, or any other defender leaves Gallacher is pretty much ready to go into the first team.

Maybe Jack Boyle can play in defence I honestly dont know Jackie did say that he Boyle had some good touches last weekend but wanted to see his fitness, maybe therefore thats why todays trialist got the full 90 minutes. Then again maybe its someone else altogether.
-
Anyone any idea who it is? I thought it may be Jack Boyle as Jackie was keen to give him another chance but dont think he plays in defence?
