  1. Unfortunately he did play his part also in getting us relegated along with Britton and Whyte. If the writing had already been on the wall then there was not really any sense in getting rid of Brittona and WHyte and getting Campbell in who was charged with saving us from relegation and on the day of his appointment stated 'This team will not be relegated'.
  2. I dont recall him ever saying we would be promoted by now. I recall him saying when he was first appointed that it was going to be a 3-5 year plan to get us promoted. However that plan was out the window when Harkins was sold
  3. Fantastic achievement Danny Lennon. Well done
  4. You hate McCall and moan constantly about him when the worst he has taken us to is 6th in the first divison. Yet you regard Dick Campbell as very competent who on higherplaying budgets than McCall had could take us at best to 7th and also get us relegated. Some very strange logic behind that
  5. If for 2 years the price of the gate has went up its only fair that the price for people to sit on the Thistle B.O.D goes up as well
  6. Im hoping McCall is staying put with us . We have no money, one of our best hopes is the youth system that he has created, has stabilised us in the first divison and potentially we can be challengers as before he took over we were almost bordering on a second divison team. Far worse Managers we could have had over the last third years.
  7. Great pics Tommy. Great day for the lads. Well done all again, fantastic stuff
  8. Quite surprised to hear we would get a fee plus 2 permanent. Any ideas who the 2 permanent would be - very young lads or old players? How much of a fee do you think we would get for McBeth?
  9. Great work done by McCall, Gerry and Ian Cameron in getting this youth system up. A very positive acheivement so far from McCalls reign and something he was keen to install from when he was first appointed.
  10. The BOD's fault in this does matter part of the reason we failed to put such a winning team on the park last season was their decision to allow players to be signed until late ie most of the main targets had gone and we were left with dross like Jim Hamilton etc. Most importantly the board amde the decision to sell Harkins and Twaddle thus weakening the team signinifcantly by getting rid of Harkins
  11. Did anyone make it along last night and any gossip?
  12. Anyone from the forum heading along to the Centenary Dance on May 14th?
  13. Many forum members going to the Meet the Manager Night Tonight, I think its for Centenary Fund Bronze members?
  14. Aome very good points there, one of my main concerns was the fee that Eddie Prentice appears to be receiving. In addition I dont know who it is that runs the Aitken Suite. Is it Eddie Prentice or the club? Just so when I buy my food and drinks before the game I know whether the money goes to the club or not?
  15. Quite the hypocrite this time last year you seemed to think he was one of the best |Managers in Scotland. I take it your another fan who seems to think we have a divine rightto be in the SPL. Face it the state the club is in, its going to be a wonder if we survive in the first divison.
  16. Like to see Queens Park do well, so wish them every success in the playoffs.
  17. Third time actually. Obsession - I dont think so thanks. Try responding to the points I made rather than resorting to eprsonal abuse, if you can
  18. No the board should be putting their hands in their pockets, they are not and wont do so that is why we are going to have a difficult season and have to get journeymen, juniors etc. If the board did put their hands in their pockets and put money in then I suggest we will be able to finance quite a few new signings and not be struggling. I suggest you read up on what a contradiction is rather than appearing such a smug embarrassment. I suggest you read the post properly. 1971 is clearly the poster 1876 from the old board, so why dont you reveal who you are or is that because you are embarrassed?
  19. Given that then those who seem to think we should be in the SPL need one almighty reality check. As far as I am concerned the est we can hopef or now is to survive in the first divison
  20. I would have been happy to have Halliwell back. Also considering I was happy for Donnelly to be released last season I would be happy for him to be brought back. While we need new strikers I would be happy for Donnelly to be used now and agains as a sub. But most importantly Donnelly has been coaching the Under 19's this year and credit where its due he is one of the main reasons why so many of the Under 19's - Burns, McGeough, McBeth have been developing well. Agree with you on the rest of the players you mentioned we dont need any of them
  21. I fear this is more to do with the Boards unofficial save wages over summer. We know McCall wants Donnelly to stay, but him and the others are being freed up over the enxt couple of months to save wages. Also is the likelihood of us not getting any new signings untilend of June/July to save wages. Thats all very well but what players will be left in the market by then, no doubt dross like Jim Hamilton while all the best ones will have been snapped up by other teams. We will surely be in afight to simply avoid relegation next season. Again in my opinion th b oard should be dipping into their own pockets.
  22. Wouldnt have a problem if we signed Eddie Malone, cant remeber if he plays left back. Was good at CLyde, been far from terribel at Dundee and can contribute with the odd goal ehre and there, think he scored for Clyde against Celtic. Would likely be a better left back than Boyle.
