  1. This is why I think this is the best promotion I've seen yet (3rd prem league) - Lambie brought in experience, but this team has had to drag itself over the line on skill and enthusiasm. I genuinely believe that if we can keep the majority of the team together for next year, we can build something for a decade.
  2. Radio says 4000 expected, with queues for Parking and turnstiles
  3. Aye - he's a welder by trade, but runs his own business, and is up to his eyeballs with drawing work, and such. Supposedly he's never in his office because he's always on sites.
  4. Can't believe he put Gerry in his team in front of Geordie. Don't get me wrong - I loved Geltex, but he could be hopeless most of the time (never saw a player offside as much in my life!). At least on his first tour of duty with us...
  5. Hinchy has a good job, and is supposed to be up to his eyes in work at present. My old man is surprised that he'd have the time to take on a club apart from thistle.
  6. The hot water thing amazes me. What type of heating mechanism are they using - solar?
  7. Suarez was 8 because he used a racial term several times during the course of a game. I'd love to see EBJT get longer though - a-hole of the top order.
  8. The thing that got me was the biased commentary - I thought the guy had hit the vinegar strokes when the second goal went in, and we were constantly reminded what an amazing result this would be for a 3rd division team to beat the SPL leaders. This 3rd division team that has a budget at least 5 times motherwells, and had at least 5 ex internationals in the team (most of who would STILL be internationals if they hadn't been money grabbers). I turned it off 5 mins after 2-0 to save the TV.
  9. Opinions and that, but I don't really agree. In the 1st half, we were superb - we would have embarrassed any 1st division team. However, they came at us like wolves at the start of the second, and completely put us off our game. We were ripped apart for about 15 mins, and could have easily been 3-1 down. Although I've only seen the home games this season, that period was the biggest examination that I've seen against us, and we passed. A pub team wouldn't have done that.
  10. Supporters get behind players, critics complain about them
  11. Just read that we've already scored 22 goals this season. Can anyone remember the last time we'd scored more goals by the 2nd week in September?
  12. No thanks - I've a good idea where its been!
  13. Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but could we be in line for an increase in local support after the death of Rangers? I saw a former Rangers fan on Pie And Bovril talking about bringing his boy to Firhill as an alternative. Even brining along his father-in-law. If we can push the Glasgow thing in the press, along with the free entry for under 16's again, we could get quite a few of the (hopefully) non-knuckle dragging element of their support onto our side. So is it a good or a bad idea to have us play Celtic on Saturday then? It's good to have a Glasgow Derby, but we don't want to give the idea that we're just the convenient way to shout bile at the Celtic fans (not that I haven't done that a few times in the past to both sides ).
  14. Does anyone remember the old Scottish guy that was representing another country (think it may have been New Zealand?) that attended a major voting session (either IOC or World Cup) with the instruction to vote one way, but decided off his own back to vote another? Even though it was against his countries stated wishes. It was about 10 years ago. He said that he felt he had to vote another way based upon what was said at the meeting... Just saying...
  15. And also, just because people SAY they voted one way, doesn't mean they did. I bet we find out that we have 27 people that voted 'NO'!
  16. I go to Firhill to watch football (and get depressed more often than not). I DON'T care now which way we voted - the decision has been made. I'll be back at Firhill for the season starting. The only other option is spending the time with the wife and kids... And anyway, I bet we abstained, and it was counted as a 'NO' - we shouldn't have been voting on allowing them into the 1st, as it's a conflict of interest!
