Are you at the kidding ? Thats your reason for not trying to move things forwards ?   TJF are happy with the status quo - they have no plan beyond retention of Power - the Board have no Plan beyond retention of Board Places -

Maybe actually publish a plan that moves the Club forwards -and puts people in place to get us there -rather than just recycling what we did the previous Years TJF are the majority shareholder - all decisions are by them as they control who goes on the Board However a key problem is that they do not represent the majority of the Support - yet they have unbridled control of the Club We are stuck in a rut - going no where fast - whats the Plan ? The Boards is “ be the best Fan Owned Club in Scotland & use Football to do Good” As TJF voted in the Board en masse then Im assuming thats there Plan also - otherwise state what it is ? And here is a bit of advice ( free) any Director who ever states “ we took a punt” whilst at the same time- running up £280K of losses - you remove from the Board immediately -

Lots of words - nada on how we move the Club forwards or any plan to do so TJF as majority shareholder can make any changes it wishes - they choose not to - therefore its clear the current set up is acceptable to them and they are in agreement with the Club objective of being “ the best fan owned club in Scotland and using Football to do good” - the last bit is just a touchy feely souhdbite No Plan from anyone - No Clear objective “We are Fan Owned” buy a Beach Towel -

“Disproportionate Criticism” are you having a laugh ? TJF are bombproof - the whole Club is run on Spin & Closing down anyone questioning anything - in fact if as much energy was spent actually running the place -as there was shutting critics up - we would be in the Champions League and I would worry that you believe its a “ vocal minority” who are unhappy with our direction of travel - it shows complacency - as for representatives “ taking it past and present” - a number of them were more than happy to give it tight to the Jlo regime - so stop making out they are martyrs for Fan Ownership We are rudderless & without any plan - four wasted years - Jlo to TJF despite the Spin ( & a whole load of cash ) we have not moved forwards one jot as a result of Fan Ownership - we have a nice cosy status quo -between the Board & TJF thats on TJF - nothing happens at the Club without there OK - they either start acting like a majority shareholder and take responsibility - or they re- evaluate there role in PTFC - because its not working I will repeat - the Corporate Mission Statement from the AGM was to be “ the best Fan Owned Club in Scotland” or words to that affect -not play in Europe - the best fan owned Club in Scotland it speaks volumes as to our Club Culture that thats our main ambition - and TJF are happy with that Fans don't even know what TJF want for the Club We don't know what the Board wants for the Club We do know the Status Quo will take us no where So here is a suggestion - don't lose money - get into Europe Thats it -nothing else - there is not a Thistle Fan who wont sign up to that -

Really ? Funny enough I don't remember many people from TJF jumping to Jlos or Caldwells defence when far worse was said I await the Cunning Plan for the Future with baited breath -

Criticizing the Board - Criticizing Management Teams are part and parcel of Football ( & Forums ) And lets face it TJF & there Supporters didn't hold back under the Jlo Board & plenty said far worse about Calderwood etc - so save the hypocrisy Having personal Digs at other Posters isn't acceptable - especially one who has given circa 40 years of Service to the Club in Multiple Roles there is a huge debate to be had about the direction of the Club under the current Fan Owned Model & Trust agreement along with the Board Set Up - as we are not going anywhere particularly fast - in fairness the status quo suits a lot of people - but in Football if you don't go forwards - you go backwards We spent a fortune to cling onto 4th by our fingertips & ran up a debt of £280K to " take a punt at promotion" to quote a Club Board Director - yet no one is responsible - just carry on regardless We are stuck in a Rut - No real Plan to move us forwards & the only offer is pretty much "we are fan owned" - and what is the Plan Beyond that exactly ? The Key bit that rings true is " Aspirations are for other clubs." As I've repeatedly said & will continue to do so - where we stand is on TJF - they are the Majority Shareholder - they appiont the Board - have a say in Key Management appointments - nothing happens without there OK - only they can make changes & if we fail its on them - not the Board Falkirk are Fan Owned - got promoted back to back - so clearly Fan Ownership as a concept isn't the problem -its not Pick & Mix - if your in Control of the Club - you take decisions & own them At the last AGM - there was no plan beyond Tranche 2 - and now what ? One Director had our " Mission Statement" to be " The Best Fan Owned Club in Scotland" - and thereby lies the problem - we are a Football Team - we have one objective - and that's to get into Europe There seriously needs to be some reflection by those calling the shots both on the Board & at TJF as to what next - where do we go from here - the Blaming the Jlo Board is long gone - we have not progressed one jot beyond Donald Mclymont bailing us out to the Tune of £1MN & TJF chipping in circa £250K + over the last couple of Seasons We have reached four Play Offs under three different Managers in Four Years - Highest Crowds we have ever had in the Championship - yet hoping we turn over a 1-0 Deficit as Somerset There is No Progress & whilst Lance might not have been diplomatic - the core of his statement is correct - "appiont legends " - " no ambition" - " go mediocre" as for the smart arse comment about "therapy" - the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over again and expecting a different result An organisation fails because of three things - Management , Governance & Culture Maybe rather than attacking a Poster on a Forum - might be an idea to focus on these .. -
For the Money spent we could have built an experienced Team - we didn't - too many former “Academy” Players from down South
-
Agreed - but only because we overspent - building a massive squad in the first place
-
It was an even bigger gamble assembling a squad of the size it was in the first place - lets face it how many actual quality signings did we make compared to the Signing of Arefield by Falkirk We went for quantity over quality
-
"Golf is a good walk spoiled." 😀
-
I have a spare room - as long as the Player is OK with Three Cats Running over his Head at 3 am in the Morning 🙂😺😺😺
-
A Championship Club paying accommodation costs for Non Playing Staff - thats just nonsense - if we are -then questions have to be asked - there is nothing unique about Non Playing staff
-
Why would we be paying accommodation for “ other club staff” - its standard practice for players moving from down South as contracts are couple of Years - but staff are not on Two Year contracts - and the ad clearly mentions staff ? Im also astounded that out of a population of 5 Million -a Club of the size of PTFC cannot recruit local Staff and Players
-
Unfortunately most of the Thistle “‘Pantomime Dames” have been signed up on long term contracts
-
Every “ Investor “ has had a link to Thistle If the Social Media Manager cant read the room after the defeat by the Accies and have the Manager saying nothing before the Dunfermline Game - he shouldn't be there and we don't need Investors - we need a Board who can balance a budget
-
Maybe concentrate on the day Job rather than his Media Profile what did we gain from it apart from the Social Media Manager justifying his existence
-
Not if its a 24 Hour Clock 😊
-
Even a Broken Clock is Right once a day 😂
-
Maybe just Maybe TJF should review its Club Trust Agreement - stop taking anything to do with the running of the Club - decide on Directors each Year on Performance and what they have delivered on individually This joined at the hip stuff isn't working - either run the Club and take responsibility or don't If you don't trust of rate Directors Replace them As for the Join TJF for £1 maybe thats part of the problem - a pound - complete nonsense
-
This is the bit Im not understanding is the Head Coach bit - a Coach doesn't have direct responsibility - a Manager does So who is in charge ? Who makes the Final Call on signings or even decides them A Director of Football ( which in essence is Director of Recruitment) sources potential signings - Manager decides who to Sign Ive Still not figured out how a SD works to be honest
-
For starters the Board are agreed at a secret Meeting with TJF Board / Trustees without any justification as to why they simply re-elect the same people There is no clear blue water between the Majority Shareholder & the Club Board - a Majority Shareholder holds Boards to Account - that doesn't happen - in fact by involving itself in things like recruitment & interviews of Key Staff Members - it becomes part of the Management of the Club & makes it impossible to act as detached organisation The Board in turn do the bidding of TJF- in order to keep there place on the Board - even allowing a TJF "special Director" despite two directly elected Board Reps - if that cosy arrangement is not a clear sign as to who calls the shots at the CIub - have no idea what is ? Hence no one really knows who is running the Club & No one is accountable on any level
-
If we slipped into debt & cant fund it - them we have no option but to sell parts of the Club to whomever ( Fan owned or not ) Fan Ownership guarantees nothing - trading in the Black does - not sure why people don't get that
-
We have been funded to the Tune of £1 Million by Donald Mclymont - how is that not a "Sugar Daddy" funding Model ( to use your terminology ) ? What is it that Fan Ownership is actually delivering on the conventional models cant ? As for "the sizeable majority" there was little or no demand for Fan Ownership whilst in the Premier - in fact Fans had no real say - we were told by the New Owners at 3BC that this was the Model we were getting TJF then established itself as the defacto controlling body and that was it So lets not rewrite History that Fan Ownership was the what Fans wanted - we never actually got a say What Fans want is success & sustainability - none of which we have actually delivered - despite significant sums of cash being pumped into the Club
-
Ok -so unless you stand for election for TJF - you are not allowed to comment ? frozen out of what exactly ? Ive not had anything to do with decisions at the Club for 8 Years - so what Im I being frozen out of ? We are going backwards - there is no plan beyond managed decline & controlling expectations The status quo is the priority and TJF and only TJF represent the Fans Views ?
-
Thats why we went for a Sporting Director - nice and vague - no real measurement of success - 3 to 5 Year Plan its called managed decline
