  1. They're not traded on an exchange, so the latter; have to find a shareholder and make them an offer.

Re. your last point, we do know this; they said as much at the open day board Q&A session. They were asked about the mention in Beattie's and the Jags Trust's statements of concern at the previous board's running of the club. They said they would not have put that out if they had been consulted and the reason for their takeover was implementing the sale to the consortium.

I remember Big Blue Star, and their adverts at Thistle.

We do have an idea; Nice fans organised a season ticket boycott in protest at them and how they were running the club.
  5. Total spin doctor, that guy. This and his LMA statement are such selective history rewrites it's unreal. 'His job was to keep the club in the Championship and he did that.' Er, no it wasn't.

Fact of the day prize for you; was wondering what it was called, never heard of that before, thanks.

Architectural detail at the top of the main stand, isn't it ?

Re. the Q+A, yes, I took the same inference from what RG said.

Interesting; since they now have Colin Weir's backing, I can imagine they had to go via them to contact him.

TfE have communicated openly and non-stop with the fans, publishing info and answering questions directly via all channels open to them. Contrast with the consortium, who have not only not given any information but, as PTFC Trust statements have made clear, have actively refused requests from our board to meet the fan trusts.
  11. Moravcik, Robson, McKinlay, Marc Wilson, Donnelly, Boyd, Burchill, McNamara Kdoolanjag on Twitter has them all.
  12. 'We discussed the business model proposed by the aspiring new owners, which has been tried and tested elsewhere, and it was felt that it had the potential to be “transformational for Thistle”.' Would appreciate more details on this; the new board and now you have information on how the new owners propose to run the club. You are choosing (or have been told) not to share this info with the fans. Why ? Will we get any of these details at the Open Day info meetings ? Would also like to know details of where this business model has been 'tried and tested' previously. Are you referring solely to the questionable outcomes achieved by the consortium at Barnsley and Nice ? Or were other examples cited ?
  13. Thanks; a welcome statement and some hard info. I have some reservations about this takeover but can now see the Trust's reasoning.
  14. Clearly thrown together in a rush, but hard to avoid that given the time pressures.
  15. Still getting: 'This attachment is not available. It may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it to this location.'

The hugely important difference is that any profits now would go into furthering the success of the club rather than be siphoned out for the owners' profit.

Exactly the reverse is true. Girona got promoted; City Football Group then bought them; 2 seasons later they are relegated. Much like the 'Chien Lee got Nice into Europe' story; they had achieved European football immediately before he bought them.

Yep, leveraged buyout like the Glazers, saddle the club with repaying the money you borrowed to buy them.

I see no reason why a consortium like this would buy Thistle. Financially there's no money in Scottish football, even at the top, let alone where we are. Football-wise, we're not some renowned factory of youth talent. In the other direction, why would you farm out youth players to learn their 'craft' in the blood, thunder and dubious coaching, facilities, conditions and officiating of the Scottish 2nd tier ? Even if you wanted to, you don't need to buy a club to do that; and you could have bigger ones than us in the top tier for pennies. I've not seen one of the rumour-mongers give a credible reason why this consortium would do this. Makes me sceptical that it will happen, but stranger characters have rolled up and bought Scottish clubs in the past, so who knows. If it does happen, makes me even more sceptical as to the motive.

And Nice had already been playing in Europe before he took over.

He bought Barnsley in December 2017, halfway through the season.

Barnsley were relegated under the consortium, only now are they back where they started. Nice made 3rd, now 7th and reportedly saddled with a huge debt. Jury very much out for me.
