  1. No, but not everyone sees where I' mat when it comes to getting the brush-off from the board.
  2. It's unlikely that I'll be able to go to both of our next two away defea err, matches, although both are typically enjoyable away-days regardless of the football. I need to try to remember the precise pros and cons of each....
  3. I think he does an excellent job. It's entertaining, and quite accurate. He certainly got this right: "They struggled to get a number of dangerous crosses in, despite getting to the bye-line more than most teams do against County, while their passing in front of goal was on the whole a little predictable." Nice to see him giving a lot of praise to Cairney. If he keeps up his form so far this season he's another one that we might struggle to keep hold of.
  4. Scott Chaplain scored a hat-trick for the Rovers. Wonder what happened to Red-V?
  5. Half-way up the main stand, for example?
  6. Dundee last week was dfinitely worth it! But from the outset yesterday at Firhill the atmosphere in the JH stand was morgue-like, pretty much like for much of the game against Falkirk too. It's almost as if the fans have been convinced/badgered into believing that we're not very exciting to watch. As I said in another thread, it's looking like the Morton match was due to them collapsing rather than us being brilliant to watch, and there's little to suggest that we can match that kind of performance (ours that is; Morton's never seems that far away.....).
  7. At least some fans call a spade a spade.
  8. I guess the price goes up because they're getting the chance to see the team that they really support.
  9. I've noticed that the first touch seems to be a problem with several of our players, especially when they have to take a pass when they're facing towards our own goal. As for our throw-ins, well they're even more embarrassing than our corners.
  10. Does anybody have any information on how St Mirren fans have taken to their new stadium (capacity 8,023)? It looks like one of those bog-standard 4-lego stands with big gaps at the corners which suck any atmosphere out of the ground. Incidentally, they've still never filled it, even against the ugly *ucklings.
  11. If we can't beat the bottom club next week then I think we're going to be staring at a serious fight for survival. It's no longer quite as true as before that "every team can beat any other team", as Ross County and Falkirk are starting to show. Oh, and we've lost more than we've won; and that kind of form usually indicates a struggling team.
  12. It is indeed frustrating! That's often the difference between teams that succeed and those that don't. We ground out a win against Dundee, but that's about it. Livi came from 3-0 down at half-time yesterday to 3-3, only to lose to a late Bairns goal. I can imagine the two sets of supporters' feelings about that game!
  13. Those ICT prices are shocking, and it's a hellish place to watch football. If you moved to Inverness and wanted to support a team I'd encourage you to go for Ross County instead. Not far from Inverness, and a much friendlier club all round.
  14. Good to see JM at least acknowledging the over-crabification of much of our play, and Paton's infuriating habit of stopping in his tracks.
  15. Well done on finishing with perhaps the best of the lot! Edited to add: Drumnadrochit.
  16. Can we take it that you think British Nationalism (i.e. Unionism) is OK? That we're all "Brits" together, unlike Johnny Foreigner?!
  17. Because some people just don't seem to like Balatoni I paid particular attention to him and Archie yesterday. I thought they both played quite well and did their job competently, which was to try to protect Scully's goal. Having said that, I wish Scott Boyd was still with us.
  18. From the link, Jackie should be concentrating more on the team and less on his belly.
  19. It's frustrating when the timewasting starts early, but we might just do the same. Remember trying to run the clock down at the corner flags against 10 men last week? If Thistle don't get promoted (apart from the Morton game, when they collapsed as much as we played well), and that does seem beyond the current squad and manager, then I'd actually like to see Ross County go up, if just to get it up ICT.
  20. Yep, crab football has become our speciality. Too much more of it and we'll be floundering.
  21. I think the above post points nicely to what happened. It's no surprise that County are top of the league. Best team I've seen us play against this season. Great defensively, and excellent fast passing on the move. Yes, we can do the tippy-tappy side to side stuff, but it takes us no further forward and gives the entire opposition time to take up their defensive position. I was becoming demented every time I saw Paton in the first half run forward a bit then stop. He didn't even cut inside as he often used to do (due to two players getting in on him fast); instead he simply turned back and passed the ball back. It was like watching a 5-year-old girl getting her yoyo stolen from her by a couple of big boys. Worst of all is the overhit passes to our forwards who need to run back to get them with their back to the opposition goal. They generally can't control the ball when they receive the overhit pass and in any case there's a defender right on their backside. I feel sorry for Doolan and Elliot because we're almost never getting the ball into the box to set them up with a chance. Final rant: It seems almost criminal that they way we are playing, with all the slow nonsensical passes in our half, that the guys who have pace in the team: Sekhon, Elliot and Erskene, need to try to start any run at the defence from a standing start. It's handicapping them. County were excellent at passing the ball fast onto guys who were already on a run at the defence yesterday. They'd hit the bar, had five corners, and had scored before we even had a single (very weak) effort directed on goal. As an old punter said to me on the way out: "Boring and predictable." I think he was talking about the team, not me.
  22. I know we had a bad result yesterday, but that's taking things a bit far!
