  1. I think you may have departed too early. Sally Oldfield: Mirrors
  2. Once the puns kick in it'll grow exponentially.
  3. Excellent! Nothing funnier than hearing all the Downdee fans booing, booing, boo-hoo-hooing. Scully, Scotland's Number 1 ! Yon free kick they had in the 2nd half wasn't far away....... Makes it all even better!
  4. Every now and then I think back with nostalgia to Eddie Prudham. Similar kind of situation as with Escales, though Prudham was at Firhill for even less time.
  5. From today's Evening Times: "Jags ask beaks to speed up cup call By CHRIS JACK Share 3 Nov 2011 PARTICK THISTLE today asked the SFA to bring forward the date of their ruling on Spartans’ Scottish Cup fate. Jackie McNamara’s side were drawn to face the Edinburgh-based outfit in the third round of the cup last week. But Spartans face being thrown out of the competition after allegedly fielding an ineligible player during their second-round triumph over Culter. Striker Keith McLeod, who has been with the Ainslie Park club for a decade, is at the centre of the SFA investigation after it emerged the new contract he signed in the summer may not have been completed correctly. Mickey Lawson’s side beat Culter 2-0 to set up a glamour tie with the Jags, but they could be deprived the chance to host the Irn-Bru First Division outfit if SFA chiefs throw them out of the competition. That would mean a long trip north for McNamara’s squad and Jags fans, with Culter, who are managed by former Firhill favourite Andy Gibson, as the opposition. The outcome of the SFA enquiry will not be decided until November 10, just seven days before the third-round tie is due to take place. Thistle have asked for the meeting to be brought forward to allow the club, and supporters, more time to prepare. The Jags believe it is unfair to ask fans to arrange travel for the match at such short notice, with the First Division club likely to take a large travelling support to the fixture. Thistle also feel they would be left with sufficient time to scout whatever team they will have to face." Is it just me, or is that Jackie showing a bit too much confidence in the team?
  6. Available on the Dundee website!! I'm guessing that nobody here has paid money to watch them. We will see the highlights from PTTV, won't we?
  7. Agreed. Every couple of weeks I look at the Greaves site hoping for some new stuff, but zilch. As for the Thistle tartan scarves.......
  8. I definitely think other clubs will follow.
  9. Agreed. You deserve a pat on the back for pointing it out.
  10. And now the cousins of William: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .................. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-15566905
  11. That's the third consecutive game he's been below par.
  12. Think this is bad? Any thread about the future of Firhil lismore depressing!
  13. A Thistle player, then anybody else. You have to have seen them both in the flesh. Alan Rough George Best (though he was past his best)
  14. Oi, I'm bust ing a gut to keep this thread afloat.
  15. I've always wondered why the tv companies don't offer to clubs all the old videos of matches (those that haven't been destroyed or wiped) to clubs for a modest fee. That would bring in some income to the companies for material that they never ever show, and also for clubs who could package all the old games and sell them to the punters.
  16. I don't think that will happen. Even the punsters know when it's important to keep abreast of the serious situation.
  17. Yeah. What do the people who are criticising this think of the Irn Bru caps campaign last year and the year before? Those caps were just as useless to people, detritus of used items that were being collected (to be recycled?) and which gave us (and other clubs) cash. But when it comes to clothes, it's exactly the same principle: they will be recycled in one way or another (may of us might even be wiping our arses with clothes that we've put in the recycling bin), and are probably helping out people in underdeveloped countries. But now the money-making (and it's modest, let's face it) is to be sniffed at? Sometimes Jags fans (myself included) make me wonder.
  18. Throw Judy Tzuke into the mix and I'd be up for it.
  19. Hmm, Dunno if the club could sell on what are basically pirated copies of commercially produced films/documentaries. Probably better if it's just among fans, though of course I would never condone that kind of thing.
