  1. The fight to avoid relegation starts now!
  2. As somebody else has already mentioned, he always flattered to deceive. Not one of my favourite Jags players from that period, though if truth be told there aren't all that many.
  3. Can't wait until we unveil our new strip, and try to get off to a flying start to the next campaign, which I think will go right to the wire.
  4. Monra Jackie an Sid. Behind you all the way!
  5. When we were at Dens the other week, I was "impressed" by the sheer number of cheques for x thousands and y thousands that their fans had managed to con out of the public raise for their cause. They'd already not paid off their debts by then, so all that money goes straight into next season's budget, and with relatively big crowds they'll be getting more income than most of the clubs. But they won't win promotion. You heard it here first.
  6. Why don't we permanently fill in each of the four corners with a bouncy castle?
  7. I am now the proud owner of an autographed picture of Carol Voderman. What the f*** !
  8. Brian Ferry would be great a-singing!
  9. Having watched Alan Sugar's analysis of the crazy debt levels in English football (admittedly the programme was focused on the top flight), this just looks like another case of "he's a foreigner so he must be better than any brits, let's pay him silly money". And he, unlikely to get a job in his own country or anywhere else, will profess his love of the club etc etc.
  10. What was it: Tie? Scarf? Kilt? Handkerchief? Underpants?
  11. Good point. Our recent, more orange-flavoured managers haven't really resulted in many of those of the other bigoted persuasion exactly flocking to Firhill.
  12. You're making some valid points, but realistically: who would be an experienced manager who ( a ) we could afford, ( B ) would want the job, and ( c ) was somebody who hadn't simply been shown the door for failing to do anything significant at their previous clubs? The trend these days is definitely towards younger managers, even rookies, and some of them do have success. JM might just be one of them.
  13. Picked up an excellent "Jags 76" t-shirt on Saturday for £8. The Sauchiehall St store is clearly running down a lot of "old" Jags stock. Here's hoping for an influx of good new stuff soon. Including the Thistle tartan scarves!
  14. Dammit! Away from my computer for an hour, and some barsteward outbid me and won Susan Boyle's autograph! Seriously, I wanted it! I dreamed a dream.
  15. The buzz of excitement and anticipation of something entertaining when Erskine gets the ball is one of the best aspects of Thistle games these days.
  16. I distinctly remember being at some money-raising hospitality event at Firhill a few years ago for which exactly that was done; i.e. reproduction programmes.
  17. I see and hear many people make that kind of comparison. But apart from bigger crowds and hence more money swishing around, I really do wonder whether there's much of a difference, in view of at least some of the players playing there.
  18. At first glance it would be a strange association, as they're a north-east company. No shortage of teams nearer to where they are that could use sponsorship.
  19. That might be right, but it would mean that both would need to stay pretty fit, training at least at part-time level.
  20. Welcome back to Hell, Accies. I wonder if they'll tear up the turf and re-install an artificial pitch? A modern (half) "stadium" that is a total eyesore however you look at it, even worse than our own.
  21. Tres interessant. Or for the benefit of Sigesige: Omoshiroi desu.
  22. They'd probably never seen a double-decker, and thought it was the latest Massey Ferguson.
