Interesting to see as well how our preferential voting system works over here. In my electorate, one candidate was ahead, but with less of 50% of the primary vote, another candidate took the lead after preferences. Immigration is at very acceptable levels. But what do we know about Julia? Well, one fantastic thing, particularly for the era we find ourselves in, is that she's openly Atheist, and another nice personal trait is that she doesn't feel compelled to marry her partner just to appease right wing traditionalists. That's pretty refreshing. Tony Abbot on the other hand makes jokes about rape, is openly sexist and does not believe in equality, is hugely anti-abortion, is appallingly against the teaching of indigenous languages, believes homosexuals should stay in the closet as he feels threatened by them whilst he also believes that a woman's right to choose her sexual partner is something to be 'moderated'.
