Firhillista
Paul Paton starting for us which is good to see. Maybe we won't need a replacement right back after all! Trialist in at centre-half - if we can't get Balatoni back I suppose Jackie will have to look elsewhere...
Firhillista
1-0 to Fleetwood Town after 6 minutes. I know pre-season games don't matter, but this is getting depressing... Edited July 9, 2011 by Firhillista
twinny
Leaving out the trialist, that looks like a pretty strong team. As depressing as it seems, don't worry about the score!!!

taffthejag
To take your mind off a meaningless friendly, have a look at today's Guardian, p29. A feature on the Pamplona bull run. Have a look at the accompanying picture. Is it?

Firhillista
Still 1-0 to Fleetwood, although we've come close to equalising, apparently. Yes, I know it's a meaningless game, but it'd still be nice if a Thistle player could score...
Firhillista
1-0 to Fleetwood at half time, although Thistle are playing quite well, apparently. Let's hope we put up a good showing on Wednesday night for Craigan and next Saturday against the 'Tic. (C'mon, gie's a goal, just to cheer me up...) One way to get yourself fit. And put's Lambie's methods in the shade
Firhillista
Fox and Kinninburgh on for Scully and Archibald. Interesting that the trialist is continuing. (Still like a goal, mind you...)
Firhillista
Rock on, Tommy! 1-1 courtesy of a mix-up in the Fleetwood defence and Tommy Stewart. Yes, I know it's meaningless, but, c'mon Thistle!

kni
Fleetwood are a much stronger side than Blyth Spartans. They have strengthened since losing in the Conference play-offs. It's a pity that we could not play this in front of a bigger, paying crowd. We've missed out on a decent wedge of badly needed cash.
Firhillista
Interesting, I think, that Grehan and Burns are on now for Stewart and Doolan. It seems to me that Burns has moved in front of Fraser for the 'fourth place' striker role, despite Fraser starting more frequently under McCall. Third Lanark
Fox and Kinninburgh on for Scully and Archibald. Interesting that the trialist is continuing. (Still like a goal, mind you...) Anyone any idea who it is? I thought it may be Jack Boyle as Jackie was keen to give him another chance but dont think he plays in defence? I've lost track of who is likely to be playing in which position now! Would be nice if young Shaun could come up with a winner. I've always been impressed by his approach in previous games - 'bull at a gate' might be the best description!

Apparently Fleetwood were training out at Grangemouth and believe they made the call on the switch of venue and it behind closed doors. Shame as it would have been good to see the game to see how we are progressing in pre season.

My guess is that it is Balatoni playing as a trialist as his loan has yet to be finalised.

I think these games make a loss and that is why we only have the Celtic friendly at home pre-season.

While acknowledging the improvement in Kinniburgh's game towards the end of the season, he's not nicknamed 'Bombscare Willie' for nothing! Firhillista
Just checked Conrad Balatoni's Twitter account - he's in Oban! So whoever the trialist is, it isn't him!
