Dug1e
just a thought. if we can get a song that can be started in one stand and get a reply from the other it will help build up a great atmosphere.

A bit like Celtic do with "Come on your boys in Green" Maybe we wont be doing that anytime soon! Also do we not already sing something like this but with "Jags fans here...." ? obv it's not between stands but if the JHS fancy joining in a song nothing is stopping them. Also there is a few shed girls its not all boys. . . . Edited August 31, 2012 by little_miss_jag

In fairness Celtics "come on you boys in green" is quite awesome when they do it! Aw a was only joking! But think Jags fans does sound better - might be a good one for kids to learn in the jhs! lennythistle
One of the problems in trying to get songs going back and forth is the NO SWEARING policy in the JHS for the futures/ultras. If we are going to get something going back n forth, it will have to be something like: Red and Yellow Army We ARE THISTLE STAND UP FOR THE THISTLE We need to keep it simple if we want to involve the kids. appreciate there is more than just the Future and Ultra sections in the JHS but think there may be more chance getting the family section involved first and build it from there. The Future Is Unwritten
I recall in our up in a canter two seasons in a row to the SPL time being at Falkirk away my wee girl and her pals singing to the tune of The Blaydon Races something like, "We've only come to shag your boys and drink Bicardi Breezers, cos we're the Thistle ladies" and they got a huge cheer. If we are going to get something going back n forth, it will have to be something like: STAND UP FOR THE THISTLE We had a good "stand up for Thistle" at the end. Did you join in? Saw a few kids did but didn't look like many. Thing is that song can be quite easy to start and quite funny - "stand up for the Thistle" then changing it to "Sit down for the Thistle". or is it only me that amuses? Steven H
LMJ, regarding the hokey cokey "TIM" carry on we just say Celtic instead, fits in well and as far az I know nobody gets offended. Why? My 2 sing the TIM version and I let them because it is not offensive to the group of people folk think it might be offensive to. little_miss_jag
I can't see what is offensive about the term "Tim". Celtic fans call themselves it. Celtic had the "Thai Tims" over at the end of last season. Really don't see an issue with using "Tim" and have never heard someone sing the hokey cokey song using "celtic" and can't see that catching on. twinny
Spot on neilyjag. Simon Donnelly & McNamara fits perfectly It really doesn't fit at all. I like the stand up/sit down if you love thistle and think it's something the kids can play along with.
