The Jukebox Rebel
Champions League? You're having a laugh! Cliftonville's biggest ever loss was at home to the Maryhill Magyars. It's some good ammo vs Timothy McMick if you're in the pub tonight. English F.A. Cup Third Round, 4th December 1886 The third round brought a visit to Belfast to play the “Ulster cracks” Cliftonville. The home side had much of the play in the first half, although Partick Thistle led 3-0 at the break. In the second half Thistle dominated – Willie Paul scored four and Jerry Suter three. Cliftonville scored when Andrew Duff left his goal towards the end of the game, tired of having nothing to do. The final score was 11-1. ~ Niall Kennedy, ptearlyyears.net Jags went all the way to the Fifth Round (the last 16), going down 1-0 to a late goal vs. Old Westminsters at the Oval in Kensington. Still raging, totally offside. One Team In Glasgow! Edited November 27, 2013 by The Jukebox Rebel

A £1 in 1886 was probably a years salary to most of working Britain. So he must owe you MILLIONS by now. lol

lady-isobel-barnett
Jags went all the way to the Fifth Round (the last 16), going down 1-0 to a late goal vs. Old Westminsters at the Oval in Kensington. Still raging, totally offside. Likewise, a scandalous decision. Both Bob Salisbury and Joe Chamberlain were clearly offside when Rosebery threaded thru yon pass. Btw Gladstone should have been red carded in the first half. how the ref thought it was "handbags" is beyond me.

Should have been a stern ticking off,(Gentlemanly one ,of course)

Blackpool Jags
The third round match being a visit to Belfast to play the “Ulster cracks” Cliftonville. I suspect the term may have carried more latter day connotations than we might at first sight have given it credit for.
