angry gaz
Manfull performance from the whole team.Gallagher had three brilliant saves, one from a very soft penalty award. We seemed to get more to grips with Aberdeen more and more as the day went on and despite giving away a stupid goal , after the ref gave them another free kick for nothing we were good value for the win . Three terrific finishes for the goals, Taylor could have had five today.Solid defending at the end in front of the brilliant Gallagher and the midfeild worked its arse off.Bannigan's second half performance was magnificent with chris Erskine linking to Taylor very well. They were running the Dons defence ragged at times.Higgy's sheer effort and commitment are wonderfull Zero failures today against an good Aberdeen side that couldnt contain us on the counter attack. Massive lift for the fans ,players and managment. Well played to all today.................whit a relief Edited February 22, 2014 by angry gaz
Fearchar
Good team performance, but the defence (ATS excepted) was woeful. Fortunately, that was made up for by Gallacher's magnificent performance today and the team getting to grips with attacking in force. Much improved in the 2nd half, I thought.

They were lackadaisical in conceding their goal 2 mins after scoring our 2nd. But Thistle (like many teams) have always been vulnerable right after scoring. I think that this win will be a huge confidence booster, not least because we didn't concede late goals when they were pressing, and also because when Aberdeen pressed, we could counterattack quickly and effectively. A really good team performance all round!!!

A really good team performance all round!!! Quite right. Despite a maybe slightly below par performance by Aberdeen, they are big, strong, fast team who will punish you if you make too many mistakes. If our defence was anywhere near as bad as the critics make out we'd have been several goals down at half time. The likes of Balatoni may have made the odd silly mistake (McMillan was at fault a few times I think) but whenever that happened other defenders blocked the danger. Obviously Gallagher's penalty save was a big moment as heads might have gone down then but he did make it and in the 2nd half we went on from strength to strength.
