  1. I seem to remember Lex being so slow at returning from a bye-kick that when their goalie sclaffed it, Lex was all alone in their half, in acres of space, with only the keeper to beat. Or was that the previous year?
  2. Our recent idea of handing back a pound to Hearts for every away supporter should actually be extended to every side that visits Firhill this season. A reciprocal deal should also be sought.
  3. Craig Burley. Play me in the middle boss, I need to be in the middle, you'll get the best out of me in the middle, Morocco would be the perfect opportunity for me to be played in the middle. Middle middle middle. Chunt.
  4. ^obviously never watched Deadwood Saw the new episode on Netflix t'other night. It was rather good.
  5. I flew into the Republic of Ireland under a false name.
  6. Assuming that insurance payments weren't one of the first things dropped during their cash-flow crisis.
  7. I believe Coopers was the name of the original grocer's shop that occupied the spot. Fine pub, spend pre-match in it whenever I can get to a game. A couple of pals don't like it so much as it's quite a big empty space above your head.
  8. Jackie didn't exactly cover himself in glory during the episode, but I happen to think that Stephen Thompson is actually the real snake in all of this...and in a few other episodes as well.
  9. That's an electricity sub-station. I've never been in it but from what I can see in passing there are a pair of 33/11KV transformers and probably an 11KV switch-board and some protection systems in the howf. As part of any development it could be moved/altered, perhaps even housed inside whatever was proposed, but probably at some cost. The relevant power company might contribute if it was due for refurbishment soon anyway.
  10. My boss uses that phrase all the time. It doesn't.
  11. Am I mis-remembering or do our office staff actually not get paid by the club? IIRC it's actually a Director's company that employs them. That means our "profit" is actually an accounting trick. I'm prepared to admit that there are a couple of clubs in the lower leagues who have absolutely no ambition whatsoever, but equally, there are a few there who are only grubbing around that level because they have genuinely "cut their cloth". That makes them less succesful, which, in an ever decreasing spiral, lowers their crowds, making them have to cut deeper, making them even less succesful ad infinitum. The "clubs of ambition" are generally only where they are currently either due to understanding bank managers or a benevolent backer. What gives them the right to dictate the future of Scottish football?
  12. No mentions of Jim Duffy or Ray Farningham yet? Other than those my other 3 already mentioned would be Wayne Foster, Ian Cameron and Alex Kennedy
  13. Would "clubs of ambition" include Sevco, Hearts, Gretna, Dunfermline, Livi, Dundee, Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, and Killie plus the serial basket cases of the 1st Division, or is it only the ones who've actually been in Administration/been liquidated? SPL 2 is another attempt by full-time teams to stave off the inevitability of going part-time.
  14. Burn the witch I hate to say I told you so...especially when it wasn't me.
  15. <<<<<< I did these for a friend a couple of years ago. Full team with a few wee "conversions" to make some personalities stand out.
  16. You'd be naive to think that a point for a no-score draw doesn't already run that risk.
  17. We didn't, I can't say the same for Rovers though. They had absolutely nothing to fear, yet still wasted time and played deep throughout the entire 2nd half. It's supposed to be entertainment.
  18. In my life-time (and I suspect that of more than a few on this forum), football formations have gone from 5 up front in the WM formation, to 0 up front in the so-called false 9. Fans want to see goals, coaches and managers want to see no goals conceded. I'd go further and award a bonus point to any team that scores a goal, win, lose or draw.
  19. Actually what Scottish football really needs is 2 up and 2 down from the SPL, without the need for play-offs. But I think we all recognise that the SPL will never agree to that, hence the cry for play-offs.
  20. Very magnanimous of you. It's a disgrace that your own team doesn't get a shot at an "SPL" team that's only had to be marginally less shoite than Dundee all season.
