  1. The Scottish government has to ,by law, allow EU students the right to study at Scottish universities for the same cost as Scottish students. The whole argument rests on the case that English, Welsh and Irish students are being treated differently to other EU students. The Scottish universities could easily block foreign students from claiming all the available places by simply giving Scottish students priority. The whole case that has been raised was that it is only English, Welsh and Irish students who are being asked to pay. French, German, Polish and students from every other EU country can study in Scotland free of charge. Would you think it was fair if it was only Scottish students who were asked to pay for tutition in England while the rest of the EU could study for free?
  2. The whole argument is that English, Welsh and Irish students will be charged to study in Scotland while students from every other EU country do not need to pay. Can you imagine the outcry from the SNP if it was only Scottish students who had to pay to study at an English University?
  3. Youth development if done correctly is more than worthwhile, just look at Hamilton and Livi to see how much money can be made from it.
  4. Totally agree. Anyone who says Imrie wasn't the best player on the park on Saturday must have been watching a different match.
  5. Stories like this make me glad to be a Jags fan. Well done to whoever thought this idea up
  6. It's possible that the step up in leagues was too much for Grehan but maybe he didn't get enough games to get used to it. Just remember how bad Paddy Boyle was during his first season with us. Maybe the number of games he got contributed to his vast improvement in his second season. Maybe Grehan would have improved given the games maybe he wouldn't, we'll never know. It's more difficult for a striker to get time with a team if he's not scoring ( just look at Torres with Chelsea) but I feel the right decision was made here. If Willie Kiniburgh is seen as a better option up front then it's time to leave but for anyone to say that Grehan was the worst or even one of the worst Thistle players is just crazy. Hope Grehan gets another club and does well, always came across as a nice guy.
  7. Does it though? I'm sure Grehan wouldn't leave without some financial deal.
  8. Excuses are starting to sound like Gerry Collins.
  9. Seems to be okay for Erskine but I forgot he's a 'cult player'
  10. Maybe buy a 50/50 ticket next home game. Honestly why would anyone waste their money on a football club? Be better off just burning their money.
  11. Only if we forget about Berwick as well. And the poor performance v Stenny.
  12. The problem seems to be a total lack of discipline and lack of consequences. These problems affect both rich and poor and both of them are equally to blame because of it. From Politicans who screwed their expenses, to Police who accept bribes to look the other way, all the way down to the unemployed youth who decides it's easier to steal a TV than get a job and buy one.
  13. In other words the Trust will either abstain or go along with the proposal and use their standard excuse of how their vote wouldn't have changed anything and it's better to be in with the board so they can change things from the inside rather than being excluded. Sorry mate but the Jags Trust have had numerous chances to stand up for the fans and have failed every time. Don't hold out any hope of things changing here.
  14. Have we ever conceded three penalties in consectutive games before?
  15. Drank half of it before realising. When he did realise he punched Mark Roberts.
  16. Good to see Thistle supporters living up to their snobby stereotype. Of course its only the right wing media's readership who are easily led. Newspapers like the Daily Record are only full of the truth.
  17. Hate to be really pedantic and rain on your parade here but really have to point out the the original Olympic games (on which the modern ones are based) were a religious festival, held at Olympia (Home of Mount Olympus i.e. Home of the greek gods). Still don't see hoe Celtic advertising in a publication that could be read by a fair number of their supporters is in anyway causing the worlds problems
  18. Maybe we should follow Celtic's lead and advertise in religious newspapers?
  19. You really need to take a chill pill. Imagine a business advertising in a newspaper where a lot of their supporters will see it. Whatever next.
  20. Another dose of celebrity sympathy, an ourpouring of grief for a legend cut down in their prime. Or more fake sympathy for someone who screwed their life up. Where were all the well wishers when she needed help. Even her own father couldn't care less, he was too busy on his own tour i.e making money off her name. The same press who were calling her a disgrace a few weeks ago for her concert performance are now calling her a genius who inspired a generation. Two faced hypocrites.
  21. I've met her brother Vinda Lu a few times.
  22. Not unless he does it every year for the next 10 years
  23. So we agree on the drinking and the troubles with stewards. As for confronting him, no I haven't for the simple fact that he hasn't abused either myself or anybody I go to the games with. Had he done so I would have no problem confronting him. Although we saw what happened last season when someone confronted one of the 'atmosphere providers'. You may find drunken abuse as atmosphere at a game but not everybody does. What's funny when you are drunk isn't always funny when you are sober and not everybody feels the need to drink at football. The old firm use the same excuse about atmosphere when justifying their sectarian bile. Yes you can call those who dont swear, abuse other fans etc as boring and killing the game but take a long hard look at some of the behaviour in a football ground and ask yourself if it would be acceptable in everyday life. Personally the thought of going on away days and having to put up with the drunken behaviour of some fans puts me off going to games far more than the lack of atmosphere.
  24. Because i have always found him to be a complete twat. On numerous occasions I have seen him verbally abuse Thistle fans who didn't join in with his 'drunken banter'. I've seen him been thrown out of at least three matches for being abusive towards stewards ( or being picked on as his devout followers will have you believe). He's also been so drunk at games that he finds it okay to pish in the middle of a street in broad daylight with families close by. All while wearing the Thistle strip. He might be a legend to some people on here but that says more about them than him. Personally i find him an embaressment to the club at times.
  25. Can someone explain why they think Gerry Britton would deserve a place in the hall of fame? Good player for us but didn't do anything out of the ordinary for us? I can understand players who only played for Thistle, captained league winning sides, won trophies as manager etc but don't understand why Britton would be considered?
