  1. It’s possible (although you wouldn’t know it due to the general silence this window) that Martin is a long-term solution and some of the midfield will be trimmed in the offseason. Thoroughly enjoying watching the Accies fans seethe at this move on Twitter.
  2. Calculate the difference between our expected finishing place with Harry (assuming 4th, right where we are) and where we’d finish without Harry (I dunno, 5th?). Calculate difference in prize money between those two places. Calculate risk allowance (Harry staying gets us to 3rd somehow; Harry leaving drops us to 6th somehow) Set minimum transfer fee = Difference in prize money + Risk allowance. Don’t allow a move for anything less.
  3. I imagine the fans’ correspondence piece is something the Office Manager role will handle. i don’t know full staff counts now or in the past, but this is typically how a company would handle something like this. You wouldn’t go emailing the general manager that the ticket app isn’t working or your pie was too cold. Office Manager should handle that and track customer complaints by frequency and type and address on a personal level. Then OM and GM should meet regularly to look at systemic issues and ways to improve.
  4. Not sure why folks are surprised that no one has come in. I would think that even critics of the board have to find this to be the correct decision, given our form and direction on the pitch. We overspent, everyone acknowledges we overspent, we know costs have to come down next year if we don’t get promoted, so cost cutting has to happen. Bad contracts and players who aren’t having an impact are first to go. Expect Milne to be gone in the summer (talented enough to play in the premiership and using the rest of this season to demonstrate he’s past his injury). I’d imagine Robinson could be out the door this summer as well (less about his performances and more about contract timing, although some may disagree on the performances piece). I would expect Banzo and Mitchell to re-sign. Board will have to take a hard look at Doolan because there’s a good core of returning talent on the books until Summer 2026 and the club has to get something positive out of that group. Next season will be REALLY interesting because there are loads of expiring deals. I think that’s when we’ll see even deeper cost cutting.
  5. Doolan praised Robinson’s work rate in the pre-match interview, but I agree - Ablade is a handful and can draw fouls in the way Robinson can’t. At this point, the only thing that saves our season is if we discover a formula that works, maintain 4th, and manage some momentum heading into the playoffs.
  6. Can we get a diazepam to whoever’s holding the camera? I’m getting seasick.
  7. Ah, so that’s why Watford signed another keeper. Myles retired to become a farmer.
  8. Typo. I meant £6000. And instead of “one of his pals”, I meant “ladies from an escort service”. Please share with any applicable social media channels.
  9. I heard from a reliable source that Sayers was on £3000/week and the club paid for weekly flights to Glasgow for one of his pals back home in order to combat the homesickness. Please pass this along to any channels you know of.
  10. Not until the summer at least. But that probably was a given since he’s coming back from injury.
  11. At season’s end, regardless of where we finish or whether we make the playoffs, someone should be doing a “season exit” interview with every coach and every player to understand what went right, what went wrong, what challenges they faced, how they did or didn’t overcome those….then pool all of that together and assess how to move forward in terms of offseason strategy and personnel (coaches included). Would that be Levi Gill? Richard Beastall? Someone else?
  12. Does anyone know what scouting service we use? I assume we can’t pay individual scouts, so we rely on services that provide talent scouting, player analysis, match analysis, etc.
  13. Outside of maybe a backup keeper, I don’t think this is a strengthening window.
  14. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/gm-update/ Levi Gill seems like a good guy for the role, and I like his vision for building things out, but I’m concerned that his vision will run into a financial brick wall. Maybe one for @Woodstock Jag or others, but if I am correctly understanding the report, we are likely to fall some degree short of revenue in hospitality/events. It seems the lofty revenue targets aren’t achievable under the “current structure”. Not sure how big this deficit might be and how concerning it is going forward. Structure requires investment, after all.
  15. Anyone calling for Doolan to go is not going to get their wish. We budgeted for 4th place, and that’s where we are. Pretty sure any formal decisions about Doolan - or the playing squad at large - won’t happen until the summer. But that doesn’t mean the board should be waiting to review contingencies.
  16. BTW, hoping all of you are safe and doing well through Storm Eowyn. Didn’t want to start a whole thread about it, but I saw some of the damage. My Ayrshire bro-in-law had some light roof and other property damage, so hoping all of you came through fairly unscathed.
  17. Man City supposedly paid 200k to get him from Kilmarnock, and he was a regular for their U-21s. And ultimately can’t get a game with us. Will be interesting to see his next move.
  18. I think I saw on Twitter that we recalled Sallu Turay from his season-long loan deal after hitting 9 goals in 16 games. Positive stuff, and I’d imagine we’re looking for a half-season loan deal at a higher level.
  19. Awww why’d you have to post that??? Graham will certainly want more money now!!!
  20. Would love to see a correlation with average home attendance over that span.
  21. McBeth was an even bigger gamble. Sometimes they pay off.
  22. I’m sure the authorities will just tell us the game needs to be played before December 31, 2025….
  23. Would love to see more detail to understand: 1) How we cut the loss down 2) How advertising revenue/hospitality/non-matchday income looks, seeing as the board repeatedly has identified it as an opportunity for growth What was that £1.7m donation from TBC a few years ago? I don’t recall that.
