  1. Anyone know if our annual budget is broken down by ā€œdepartmentalā€ spend? I know a football club isn’t a traditional company, but I imagine things should be broken down into categories like: First team squad Sales/Marketing Media/PR Matchday operations Hospitality/Events Would make it a lot easier to identify or prioritize cuts.
  2. Really difficult watch. We might be able to scrape the final playoff spot, but we’d never do anything with it. IMO we need to start tinkering with lineups to see if we can generate any kind of offensive spark before the playoffs.
  3. McCall pre-sacking game excepted, I think Thistle being competitive against the OF is before my time as a fan. What was different? More quality? Less parity? Scottish talent staying local instead of bolting for EPL dreams? Narrower finance gap between the OF and other teams?
  4. Pulling these numbers off ESPN UK… In Championship games this season: Falkirk have had 12 different players with at least 1 goal and 13 different players with at least 1 assist. Livi is 12 and 10. Ayr is 13 and 9. For Thistle, it’s 9 goal scorers and only 6 different players to register an assist. And one of those is playing at right back these days….
  5. Would like to register appreciation for Graham today, who ran his socks off (and it looked like maybe his injury near the end was more down to needing a breather?). As others noted, it was a really gritty finish once we got the 2nd, and I think the rest of the team followed the lead set by the captain. Ablade appeared to show his appreciation after the final whistle. For Graham’s sake, I hope he gets the Scotland women’s job and gets to make a clean transition to full-time management.
  6. Merry Christmas all! And especially any other Jags fans in the USA (soon to be the United States of Canada, Greenland, and Panama)!!!
  7. Also, partnerships could lead to extra revenue. If we had a publicized partnership with another club - like a formal partnership - you could maybe see some of them buying Jagzone memberships to follow some loaned out players. Or, like in my case, you just become addicted to some Scottish club and can’t stop. 😃
  8. Yeah, but that was for another club under the same ownership group. They wanted to own several clubs and move players about, even if the success of one club had to come at the detriment of another. I think this kind of strategic partnership would be different and would be more in line with, ā€œhey, our clubs have similar playing styles so maybe we look at loan deals.ā€ If our own academy kids aren’t in line for game time, I think it makes sense.
  9. I see that Dundee have added a player from FC Monterrey, ā€œwith whom the club has a strategic partnership.ā€ Would like to see us develop some formal strategic partnerships.
  10. First Roberts long kick - 62 minutes. Some kind of record, no?
  11. Completely in control, but should be 4-0. Crawford and Fitzy both should have done better. Still not really sure what Crawford offers. Night and day from prior games with passing and possession. Stringing together passes, patient attacks…..just the finishing that needs to be better. Some slick passes from Graham too.
  12. No apologies necessary. Have ye seen the Tranche 2 thread?!? šŸ˜„
  13. I have this niggling fear that this documentary will be primarily about this thread, with bits of football sprinkled in.
  14. I would love to know more about the players’ weight training regimens. How often they are in the gym, what kinds of workouts they do, what kind of diet the trainers have them on, etc. The closest I think we got is when the official site accidentally posted Harry Milne’s meals for the week! šŸ˜„
  15. Yeah, I think JJ has some fair criticisms of TJF but…..saying members weren’t consulted about Issue A and then complaining members ARE BEING CONSULTED about Issue B seems weird. That kind of thing should only happen between someone and their spouse.
  16. Apologies for the vagueness, but I recall another club a few years back had a home match against one of the Old Firm teams, and the club had to decide whether to relocate its own supporters to accommodate the opponent’s support and the increased revenue from it. They put it to their own supporters and said, ā€œif we don’t move the home support, then we need to make up this much in our own increased attendance.ā€ I want to say the home support responded positively and the decision was taken to not move the home fans. I’d like to see more of these kinds of fan consultations where outcomes and expectations are more clearly set.
  17. Not only have we not seriously improved, we haven’t identified or developed any young talent to replace our aging attack. We may be forced to take a kids vs experience approach next season without having any surefire kids.
  18. I’m concerned about this too, but more so for next season. Graham is still quality but we can and should expect a drop off soon.
  19. I think our average home attendance this year is our largest in a decade….sooo….outreach is certainly worth it.
  20. Probably in the minority here, but would consider dropping Chalmers for Lawless….if for no other reason than to ā€œreunite the gangā€ and see if they can spark some offense for the first 45. I don’t think Chalmers deserves to be dropped, but I’m wondering if somehow reintroducing Lawless gets more out of Fitzy, who seemed rather sub-par at Hampden.
  21. The funny thing here is…..I think everyone has a valid point. You cant keep selling off shares or assets to keep things funded. That’s not a plan. But anything you cut could be twice as costly/difficult to get back. That said, we 100% need a ā€œdoomsday scenarioā€ plan that lists what cuts or changes we would make, in priority order, in an emergency. And it would have to look at everything - women’s team, academy, hospitality, Jagzone - all of it except the men’s team.
  22. I would say most businesses need to increase revenue to survive.
  23. Going forward, I’d really like to see better visuals for communicating things out to the fans. We seem to present everything in narrative form (you could even see it in the video - single PPT slide filled with text), which isn’t the best way to convey info. Concepts like the difference between PTFC Trust/Jags Trust/TJF and the general change in shareholding could be done with charts. A timeline would be really useful for the ā€œwho said what, when?ā€ conversation and keeping people honest, especially when it comes to the board claiming to budget for break even and then changing to a planned loss.
