  1. Well he could start by putting in a worthy performance. Humour me, name a match that Baird has played well in?
  2. Fans paying their money are allowed to have a go when they feel a player doesn't deserve to wear the red and yellow and in this case that's John Baird.
  3. Well where to begin after that. Firstly well done to Aberdeen, best team by a mile that we have faced so far. Big, strong tactically sound and just a well drilled team. Starting at the back, Gabriel just had a nightmare plain and simple, second to everything and looked like the proverbial rabbit in the headlights. However as ppl have said this was his first chance in the league but looks like back to the bench for him. Our midfield just didn't turn up today, every one of them poor in the engine room but I was surprised when welshs number came up, also did anyone notice the frustrated punch of the dugout. Special mention to young higginbotham. Thought he played well today kept going and was really the only one who looked like doing anything. Now a special mention for Baird. Really folks how this guy has achieved a career in professional football is beyond me. Brings absolutely nothing to the team and his attitude seems to be a bit suspect. The constant huffing when things aren't going his way is ridiculous and I really don't c him scoring a single goal. Good shout from previous poster about Elliot through the middle. What does the guy have to do to get a chance he changed the game vs Cowdenbeath. I think Archie will learn from this and this was a reality check. Yes we are a good team but we still have a long way to go. Aldo worth mentioning that was a depleted dons 11 so kinda puts things into perspective. Glad there wasn't any booing. On that note who was the tosser in the north end who spent the entire second half berating Sinclair very loudly. Total idiot.
  4. Things like this make me appreciate how far we have come
  5. What a joke. Strachan playing to the gallery on this one I suspect. Is ATS better than Wallace right now? Hard to say definitively but he's playing week in week out against a better quality of opposition and don't think he'd be out his depth whatsoever.
  6. Moan moan moan. What about all the jags fans who couldn't afford to travel to these two games and can now enjoy them on tv anyone who booked travel early surely knew the risks associated with this. It was the same with the two Friday night games people came on here in their droves to moan.
  7. Well what a game that was. Totally bossed it and overran their midfield all afternoon. Special mention for Osborne who I thought was fantastic today, so composed when chasing the ball down and composed on the ball. I've noticed he doesn't give many silly fouls away too. My only gripe is with John Baird. Although we won today his failure to convert one of the many chances that fell his way, could have cost is big time and we looked a different team when he went off. Think Forbes has surely staked his claim for a starting place, he brings us that extra something going forward. Agree with the earlier post about giving big gabby a chance as I think a wee spell on the bench might do Conrad the world of good. Amazing feeling to comeback and win that today, justice prevailed and yet another wonderful travelling support and a nice touch from the saints fans applauding us. Oh an how p*** is Gary Harkins these days lol
  8. I agree potty trained. Early goal floors them given their form just now.
  9. You have to question how much game time watt is gonna get at Celtic though. Also I'm sure we can guarantee him a lot more game time given our style, he would fit in nicely.
  10. That was a right old slog tonight. First half was similar to Saturday, no tempo or rhythm to our play, couldn't move the ball quick enough. Like a few others have said I just don't see what mark Kerr brings to the party, far too hesitant on the ball and is weak in the tackle. Just doesn't fit our style of play at all. Baird needs a goal and we saw glimpses tonight of what he can do. Thought big Gabriel had a decent game and Elliot was the game changer. I'd start him on Saturday. As the old cliche goes, it's all about getting into the hat for the next round. Could be worse we could be like county, st mirren and Killie tonight.....
  11. I thought Elliot played well second half
  12. Hate to tempt fate guys with this post but been thinking about this since Wednesday night so here goes... This squad is arguably one of the best we have witnessed in many a year at firhill but with the imminent departures and the step-up to the SPL, what changes does everyone feel are required in the summer to survive next season? Of those out of contract at the end of the season, in my opinion we will lose Erskine, Paton and probably O'Donnell. I would hope the likes of Bannigan, Foxy, Doolan, Craig, Forbes etc would stay as I would be happy with them all in the squad for next season as all would do a job. However, looking at those under contract for next season there are a few who I feel would struggle to make the step up with Elliot and McGuigan being the two who would find the step up too much. So with that in mind for me the key areas to strengthen would be in the midfield with a holding midfielder the key requirement with the addition of a couple of attacking midfielders to replace Erskine. Up front you can never have too many strikers but its about getting strikers who can do a job in the SPL. So would like to see us sign another striker or two. At the back I would like to see Dowie, on the evidence of wed night, being offered a deal and McMillan looks like he would be reasonably solid at Right back and the possible replacement for O'Donnell. Thoughts?
  13. Great day out, bossed it from minute 1. Really clinical and gritty away performance that has sadly been lacking all too often this season. Few people focusing on Dunfermline's demise, get a grip, we can only beat what is in front of us and regardless of their problems they are no mugs and we should be concentrating on the positives from our performance and I thought there were many. Was delighted with how well we pressed home our advantage in the first half, two scrappy goals as well which we don't see often enough in my opinion at key times in games. Three points in the bag and hopefully that's the away day hoodoo knocked on the head for now and we can start tackling this tricky away fixture schedule that see's us going to three grounds we haven't won at this season in quick succession. I feel there is a stark difference between us away from home under Jackie and now. I feel we are now grinding out results and when we went four up today we seemed to know what to do and see it out with ease and ok people may say that's easy when you are four one up, but I noticed how well we kept the ball and controlled possession and the tempo of the game in the second half, stifling any notion Dunfermline had of trying to forge what was an impossible comeback. Loved the dig on show from players such as Bannigan, Lawless and Craigen when he came on who I thought was impressive and did what he had to do, kept the ball well too. Over to Morton now on Tuesday against their Bogey team this season, Hamilton. But still in our own hangs which is all the ask at this stage of the season. Archie and Shaggy till the end of the season for me, team playing well and that stats speak for themselves, 10 points out of a possible 12, three consecutive clean sheets and no red cards in three games!! Happy Days
  14. Utter Nonsense. You said there is no room in the team for Forbes, end of.
  15. I am simply challenging you on your utterly ridiculous statements that, as people said previously, sums up what's wrong with scottish Football, attitudes like yours. You mentioned in an early post in this thread, how dare you suggest changing formations, you didn't in that post after the Livi game you said there is no room in the team for Forbes if we are to win this league, that to me suggests that you feel he doesn't deserve or merit a place in the starting 11. At least have the decency to stand by and accept your original statement.
  16. Fancy some humble pie kennymac? Also, some of the stick Erskine has been getting in recent weeks just sums up a section of our support, gloryhunting fairweather boo boys and hopefully the Bridge put them well and truly in their place today with a wonderful performance and a contender for goal of the season. Also, last week I recalled someone referring to Erskine as being a "not very good football player". That's what the guy's up against. As for Forbes, thought he was back to his brilliant best today but hey no room in the team for him!?
  17. and for the record, there is a whole world of difference being moaning amongst themselves and clearly going out of their way to berate the players, aggressively and very loudly, I hardly call that moaning amongst themselves.
  18. I was using the title as a turn of phrase Uberteeb.
  19. Don't post on here as much as I'd like to but feel compelled tonight. I was at the game today, sitting towards the far corner of the Jags support and I have to say I haven't witnessed as much negativity and constant berating of the players in many a year. Some of the comments were just ridiculous at one point on 'fan' stood up and berated Muirhead for playing a throw-in back towards our goal rather than forward, absolute nonsense. Ok we weren't great today, one of our worst performances of the season but the abuse began very early in the match at 0-0 and some of our fans have to take a long hard look at themselves tonight. Things could be a lot worse, we are sitting in third place after the halfway point with two games in hand and are still very much in this title race but we have a fight on our hands and performances and the team as a whole has to improve in many areas. But they need us as fans behind them, not constantly berating them at the slightest little thing. End of Rant.
  20. Meant to add - didn't look like there were many tickets left at all, very small pile of about 30 I would say
  21. No problem, it was literally a two minute job given how close I am to the stadium
  22. Yeah was just thinking that there, I can envisage Jags fans without a ticket turning up at the gate on the day if the home end is pay at the gate.
  23. Yeah nice gesture by the club. Keeps him ticking over and it is a shame we couldn't offer him something because despite what many ppl think, he would have been a good no2 to have on the bench to keep Fox on his toes.
  24. Would just like to thank the big fella for his efforts in his short time at Firhill. He wasn't everyone's cup of tea but done a job nonetheless and came in to fill what turned out to be boots that were just too big for him to fill. I'm sure he will get fixed up somewhere, not sure what level though.
