  1. No, obviously, but eating in Nandos twice a week (Balatoni) is not an example of the discipline required to be a decent professional. Letting your diet go twice a week is enough evidence for me. It's absolutely fine if you disagree. Different standards. I play amateur cricket, and when I'm playing my diet is better than some of our professional footballers. Anyway, let me know when you pick the team next, Alan. I'm interested to see if Mohandas Gandhi could could fill in at centre half.
  2. It's Balatoni, Stewart and Elliot actually. Three players who coincidentally have yet to prove themselves. It's not a lot to ask to expect professional athletes to look after themselves, and what you eat is a close second behind how you train (which, as we've heard, has also been questioned this week). Do you think Ryan Giggs eats coco pops and nandos? No. So if our players took their careers seriously (mental strength is a point JMcM has highlighted repeatedly) they wouldn't either.
  3. Cole isnt very good and the other post about Archbishop Desmond Tutu and your team selections was funny.
  4. Cole in for the Archbishop Desmond Tutu? It's almost like you dont want to take anything from this game.
  5. I didn't mention entertainment. I'm talking about effectiveness. More likely to score with Erskine on than with any of the other players who'd be considered in his place.
  6. Great to see videos of Ajax's fans singing bob Marley three little birds at old Trafford. We could do worse than adopting a song with lyrics like that one. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=Z5872rNloOU Can I be the first to suggest we dust this one off whenever a result isn't going our way? Would do a lot for the enjoyment levels of goin to see thistle and a lot for the pride of the club, which isn't great right now.
  7. Archie usually marks Naird, and was supposed to be doing so for the second goal. This makes me think Cole should have had Graham for the first but Archie saw the lapse and tried to recover.
  8. Thick, Red and yellow hoops. Nothing fancy. We look like Albion rovers right now. Something like the heritage strip in the club shop would be good.
  9. No, just twitter. When other clubs players are up and training, ours are tweeting about choice of breakfast cereal. #justsaying
  10. I can't say I agree with that. We should at least be able to expect being involved in some form of meaningful competition in the second tier of football past February. No-one expects trophies, we just expect not to be uncompetitive if we're not goin to play in the top division. I agree with te stuff about Erskine though. Criticism of him is ridiculous. He's one of the only players able to threaten other teams defences once they've got behind the ball. If we didn't have him we'd have no one to give the ball to to beat a man.
  11. To be fair, the linesman was sharp as a razor that day so I'm willing to go with his decision.
  12. I don't think the 1.5 hour training sessions thought up by sports scientists are meant to be coupled with sleeping in til 11am then having coco pops for breakfast either. They're meant to be PROFESSIONAL footballers, but it seems a few of them have the lifestyle of a benefits scrounger who plays a bit of football every now and then.
  13. Maybe sports science theory and rest periods would work better if they weren't spent in Nandos. What's that rule again? 10,000 hours to become an expert at anything. Well, at one hour a day, it'd take 27 years of one hour training sessions for JMcMs team to achieve this status. One year down - cannot ******* wait for 2038...
  14. Yes. That has already been established. My point was that they have a legal directors' duty to manage (and therefore vote) in the company's best interest, which can be enforced by any of the shareholders if they do not do so. Any shareholders not involved in protocol can raise such an action.
  15. It shows...A LOT. Shooting and marking practice are things that require a ball and, if they spend so little time with one no wonder they're shite at those things.
  16. The lack of discipline is also evident in the silly wee spat Christies Elliot is currently having with Kal Naismith publically on twitter. The fact that the team seems to eat most meals in Nandos doesn't instil confidence in them as professional athletes either.
  17. The directors of the club have a duty to exercise their right to vote to the benefit of the company that they are directors of. If they do not do so, they can be held to account by the shareholders. I'm not exactly sure who own the shares in thistle are precisely, but I think it's predominantly the same people as are directors. However, this is where the jags trust should come in, if it were an effective fans representative.
  18. Yeah, but that's not really fair as the reason the thistle team isn't as good as it should be is partly the same reason raith, qos and Ayr aren't as good as they should be for 1st div sides. Scottish football as a whole is on a downward spiral. That said, for different reasons, McNamara hasn't exactly set the world alight.
  19. A crap team deserve crap supporters. They're the ones getting paid, we're the ones paying. But yeah, Maybe organising a song song for a game regardless of the performance and result Might be the best way forward. And yes, I say organising because that's probably what it will take. Edited: the players get paid, not laid.
  20. The same thing happened at culter. It's a bit ridiculous to be honest. Not something we need.
  21. Yeah, that's what the problem is - glad we've identified the important issue here.
  22. I've noticed this before. We seem to use select positive youth team results to offset how shite the team they are aspiring to be in were on the Saturday.
  23. Doesn't the club have a right to a share in propco profits, should there be any? Not that any of this matters, as nothing at the club ever actually goes through.
  24. If Archie was marking Baird, was Cole meant to be marking Graham (the other striker) when he was given 10 yards space to vows in from a set piece?
  25. Unbelievably quiet on here considering we're playing in two hours.
